Before You Begin

Your Gamut device will need to be turned on and connected to your internet router. You will need to use a TV to set up the recorder for the first time, follow the quick start guide to do so. After the initial setup, a TV or monitor is not necessary when accessing the recorder via a network connection.

If you are using a recorder and cameras, make sure that the cameras are connected and working.

If you are using a Wi-Fi bridge system with your camera, make sure that the bridges are turned on, wired correctly and communicating before you begin.

Let’s Get Started

Now that you have connected your recorder/camera to your internet router and turned it on, you will be able to view it using a program called Surveillance Client.

First you will need to download some software called Device Config Tool, which will allow you to find out the IP address of the camera/recorder and edit some of the settings.

Download it from here if you are using Windows, and here if you are using a Mac.

Once the software has been downloaded and installed, you will see a window like the screenshot below. Make a note of the camera/recorders IP address.

The files for software installing, running, recording and sharpshooting are in the following folders by specific paths.

The default software installation path: C:\Program Files\Dvrsoft\Surveillance_client. User can define the path for installation.

Network Card: Recommend to use gigabit NIC, (including network card, router, switch and network cables of 5e or higher specifications for RJ45 port)

Disk Space: At least 1GB space should be available except the required space for recording.

OS: Window Vista Business, Enterprise, Ultimate (32 bit or 64 bit)

Window 7 Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate (32 bit or 64 bit)

Window 8, Window 8 professional, DirectX 9.1 or higher

1. System Overview
   1. Operation Management

In consideration of the functions and features of the software, we strongly recommend that:

• All the operators should be trained so as to avoid forming the artificial weak point of protection system.
• Sound user management mechanism and level should be established and the low level user’s access should be restricted so as to avoid the possibility of the incorrect operation.

Double click the installation file “Surveillance_client_1.0.23_2013_07_30” to install the software.

1. The system default installation path: System disk:\ Program Files\Dvrsoft\Surveillance_client. To change the installation path, please click Browse to customize. (Fig. 3-2)

Confirm the installation path and then click Next.

5. The program’s shortcut will be created in the following Start Menu folder. The default installation path
is Dvrsoft\Surveillance_client. If you want to select a different folder, please click Browse to customize.

User can uninstall the software in Add and Remove Programs of the Control Panel.

User can also run the Uninstall program by the following steps:

If DVRs use dynamic domain names, you may add them into Surveillance_cliento Preconditions:

• Create a DDNS account.
• Enter domain information and enter DVR local.
• Map the port to the router.

1. Group Device Management

Group Device Management Menu is used for managing DVR and camera group.

The device panel on the left allows you to add, modify and delete DVR system and remotely control DVR device. You can set up camera group by the group panel on the right. Import the channels from device panel into group panel to access the videos or playback. You can select different channels from multiple devices to a group. The defaultgroup is created by default. You may create new group as required.

8. Local Log Search

‘Local Log Search’ refers to searching the log of Surveillance_client. Defaultly it can search one week’s log. User may define the log reservation time as one month. Refer to system setting for details.

• User Name: Select ‘All Users’ to search logs created by all users, or select ‘Specific User’ to view his log.
• Log Type: Alarm log records motion detection alarms and system alarms. Operation log records configuration change or access of system users to log system (such as login and logout)
• All Type: Select to search logs of all type or specific type.
• Group: Select DVR or Camera group to search desired logs or select All Groups to search logs of all DVRs and camera groups.
• Start Time/End Time: Select start time or end time of searching.

User may use Account Management menu to create Surveillance_client user account.

The client software includes the following user types:

• Admin: When you firstly run the client software, the default account is admin. The administrator has the privilege to operate client software and remotely configure DVR parameters. The administrator can add, modify or delete any other user accounts.
• User: It is standard user account. User’s privileges are assigned by administrator. User cannot change software setting or change other user account. User can change his own password.

Visit Account Management:

on the Control Panel.

1. Enable Password of Admin Account

The password for admin account is blank by default. No password input is needed to log in Surveillance_client. If password is set for admin account, operator has to input password to log in the client.

Use file management to view local videos and screenshots.

3. Set start time and end time. Time period for cutting videos and pictures is for recording original videos, not for saving files.

5. Double click to open files or use button on the bottom of the screen to delete or save files in your computer.

System configuration is used for configuring Surveillance_client.

Configure general settings:

• Language: Select a language.
• Log Keeping Time: One week/Half month/One month.
• Enable audio on multiple channels simultaneously: Enable multi-channel audio output and play multi-channel audio.
• Enable auto-login: Automatically login without inputting account and password.
• Resume Live View Status: Open software and the last live view status will be automatically resumed.

Set saving path of files (Video files and image files)

You can set an alarm message. When the disk space for saving files is less than the set space, the alarm message will appear. The default setting is 600MB.

Configure the folder for saving files:

1. Click and select the required folder.
2. Click Save to save the changes.

Set alarm for insufficient disk space:

Alarm will appear if disk space is sufficient. When the disk space for saving is less than set space, the alarm will appear. The minimum value is 500MB.

Main window

The main window displays content provided by the server, which depend upon the selected tab. Please see the corresponding sections of this document for detailed information about each mode.

The Ganz CORTROL Client application window title displays window name, display number, and computer station name.

Upper right corner – window controls

From this panel, the Ganz CORTROL Client application window can be:

• Opened in full screen mode
• Minimized to taskbar
• Maximized/restored to default size
• Closed

To enter full screen, F11 can also be used; to exit full screen mode, press Escape or F11 on the keyboard.

Server Connections

If you wish to connect to a remote server, follow the steps below.

Select the Connection section in the upper panel to bring up the dialog box.

Select a server by clicking it in the item list and click Connect to connect with the selected server. Server resources will automatically appear in the left-hand panel.

Click Disconnect in this same dialog box to log out from the selected server.

Video Channels

Each video displayed in live view is placed into a ‘slot’, a part of the layout, called viewport.

Playback (Archive) Mode

For security reasons, it has been made impossible to erase recordings from individual channels and/or time periods. Recordings

Select Playback tab to switch to archive playback mode. Your current layout will be used, and recorded video streams will be displayed for channels with enabled recording.

• Layouts: Double-click your desired layout to load it
• Layout templates: Double-click your desired layout template to load it
• Channels:

o Double-click or drag and drop the channels of your choice to fill the viewports

o First empty viewports are filled; then non-locked channels are replaced one by one)

o Each channel can be expanded to access recordings of its main or secondary stream.

o All footage having no associated active channels will be available under Orphan archive tracks.

The following viewport overlay controls are available in the playback mode, upon selection of a viewport:

• Upper left:

o X: close the stream and free the viewport

o Lock: unlocked/locked (Unlocked video in this viewport can be replaced by other cameras)

Playback timeline

Right below the video stream, the Timeline is displayed:

• Time intervals: Show the timeline scale;

o Click and drag left/right to move the timeline

The video footage outline is shown twice:

o Upper timeline: Contents of currently selected stream, with corresponding channel name

o Lower timeline: Content summary for all channels currently present in the viewport layout

• White line: Indicates recorded video data
• Cyan line: (A little bit wider than the white line) indicates recorded motion data
• Blue line: (A little bit wider than the cyan line) indicates recorded incoming audio data
• Yellow vertical line: Denotes current playback position

Playback Navigation controls

The playback navigation controls are located at the bottom of the window:

• Timestamps: Timeline start and stop
• Left/Right <> arrows: Adjust the loaded footage time boundaries (Default, last five minutes) o Drag right to go forward in time drag left to go backwards in time

Motion Search:

Left/Right <> arrows move forward or back to next recorded motion

Playback Navigation:

o Use the Play/Pause button to start playback

o Use the <> arrows near the Play button to go one frame back/forward

o -/+ steps: click to go back/forward with a step of 5 seconds, 1 minute, 1 hour or 24 hours o |< >| arrows: go to the very beginning/very end of the footage

• Playback speed:

o Drag the blob to adjust playback speed from +/-0.5x to +/-32x

o The Pause button duplicates the main pause control

• Clock icon: Specify time, date/hours/minutes
• Bookmark: Create bookmark for later retrieval, review
• Snapshot: Snapshot of current image, saved automatically
• Multi-Snapshot: Snapshot of all channels currently present in the viewport layout
• Archive: Export loaded footage displayed in timeline

There are a few requirements for the system the GANZ CORTROL Client will run on.

The ports for remote connections should be enabled through the firewalls (default ports are 60554 for the GANZ CORTROL Client)

The Bit version of Windows, 32-Bit vs. 64-Bit on the PC/Server should be confirmed.

For Windows 7: To confirm your Windows bit version, go to Control Panel > System and confirm System type as 32-Bit or 64-Bit.

For Windows 10: To confirm your Windows bit version, go to “Settings > System and confirm System type as 32-Bit or 64-Bit.

1. CORTROL Client Installer

The CORTROL Client Installer can be found at Ganz Security/Software includes both the CORTROL Management Console, and the CORTROL Client installer.

From the link please select and download either CORTROL Console 32bit or 64bit, depending on the Windows OS bit version of the host server.

For convenience, links to the 32Bit, and 64Bit versions of the CORTROL Console are provided below.

1. Client Installation

• Navigate to the Microsoft Windows download folder.
• Double click on the CORTROL Client installer, to begin the installation process.
• Select the installation language and click Next.
• Accept the terms of agreement and click Next.
• Accept default installation location and click Next. (Change location destination if required.)
• Select the needed application language and click Next.
• Once installation is complete, click Finish.

1. Client Configuration

To launch the CORTROL Client interface, double click on its desktop icon. H

The Client will require configuration, to connect to the CORTROL Global Demo Server.

• Select “Disconnect”, as no server is currently configured.
• Select “Connection” located in the top right corner.

• Select the “Local Server” listed under “Connections, and then select “Edit”
• Leave the default “Server title”
• For the “IP address and port” enter: 173.42.78.61 – Leave the default port at 60554.
• Enter “demo” all lower case for the “Username”
• Enter “2468” for the password.
• Select “Remember Password” and then click on “Save”.
• Select the “Local Server” listed under “Connections” and then click on “Connect”.
• Click on the “X” to close / exit, “Connections”

The “Demo” user have been giving no restriction on functionality within the GANZ CORTROL Client.

Please reference the CORTROL Client Manual for navigation, and usage.

NOTE: MAC version does not support the P2P option, so your device will only be able to be viewed locally. If you are wanting to view your device from a different location from a MAC then the DVR will need to be port forwarded.

When you first open 2M live it will prompt for a username and password. By default, this is admin/123456. After the first login it is recommended that you change the password.

In order to add your device go to Resource Manage → Encoder. If the DVR is on the same network as your computer then it will appear under Device Online. It is possible to add the device if it will only be viewed locally, but if you are wanting to view the cameras from a different location then it will need to be added by P2P.

In order to add a P2P device you will need to click on Add Device in the Managed Devices section. It will open another window, Device Edit. Change Way to Login to P2P Login.

Then it will prompt you to fill out the following information:

• Device Name → any name for the device
• P2P Account → Device ID
• Password → Unique Password given by device or configured by user

To find this information, we need to obtain it from the DVR menu, so you will need to make sure you are either in front of the DVR at time of set up or that you have saved the information somewhere. Go to Main Menu → App → P2P → Device ID and Password.

Once the device has been successfully added, to be able to view the cameras, go to back to the menu of 2M Live and click on Realtime Video. This will bring up the live view screen and all added devices will show on the right side of the screen. Click the DVR name and drag it onto the screen to show all camera views.

If only one or a few cameras are wanted in the view screen, then you can click on the plus sign to the right of the device name and it will show a list of cameras. You can click and drag a specific camera to the windows.

At the bottom of the screen you also will be able to edit the number of windows you would like to be open at a time.

Troubleshooting

1. Terminal is not reading temperature at all

• Check that no exposed wires are touching each other at all
• Check that the module wires are connected correctly (blue/orange and brown/purple)
• Do a firmware repair by logging into the web page of the unit → Setup → System → Maintenance → Repair the firmware of forehead/wrist (depending on the model)
• If you choose to do a firmware repair, you will need to connect the unit to the network and make sure the unit and the model do not lose power or connection during the repair process. If they are disconnected in some way, there is a chance the module will not work anymore

2. The 2MTHFR-2M is constantly reading people walking by

• Check if the Face Detection Area is full screen or a specified area
• A full screen will pick up any face in the whole detection zone, so it is better to use a specified area
• Please also make sure that nothing is directly in front of or blocking the thermal sensor

3. Temperature is reading high

• Make sure there is nothing heated around the thermal sensor
• The 2MTHFR-2M is located on the top of the unit, so please make sure that it is not directed at any bright lights

4. 2M Station is showing a different time in notifications that the terminal is reading

• Make sure the Sync Mode = Sync with Latest Server Time
• Do not sync with computer time (this will show DST even though DST is disabled on the unit)
• Manually turn on DST (Daylight Savings Time)

How to Set Up 2M Guard

2M Guard is the phone app that we use for our NVR’s to view cameras from our phones offsite.

This app only works for models: 2MT-4004, 2MT-4008, 2MT-4088, 2MT-4016, 2MN-8004-P4, 2MN-8008-P8, 2MN-8116-P16, 2MN-8232-P16 and our IP cameras.

1. Find the Register Code and/or QR Code for your DVR/NVR

• on NVR menu: Menu → System → Network → P2P OR Menu → Network → P2P
• on web menu: Setup → Network → P2P

2. Two ways to add a device onto the app:

1. Star4Live
2. directly on the app

Method 1: Adding Device Through Star4Live

• Go to https://www.star4live.com/login
• Click on Login if you already have an existing account or Sign Up if you do not

• Once you have logged in, click on Add and another window will pop up prompting for a Device Name and Register Code. Once all of the required information has been filled out, hit OK and your device should show up under My Cloud Devices.

• Once you have successfully added the device on Star4Live, open the app and log into your account using the same credentials that you created/used on star4live.com
• Go to Live View and tap the icon in the upper right corner to select a device
• Select the device you would like to view
• Start live view

Method 2: Adding Device Directly on the App

• When you first download the app it will prompt you to either Sign Up or Login
• Tap on Login if you already have an existing account or Sign Up if you do not

• Open up the app menu and go to Devices. This section shows all of the devices that have been added onto your account. To add another one, tap on Add at the top of the screen.

• You can choose to add the device by scanning the QR code or by manually inputting the Register Code. To move forward with either of these options, you will need to tap on Scan

• A screen will appear for you to scan a QR code. If you choose to scan this is where you will do it, but if you choose to manually enter the Register Code, tap on the edit icon on the bottom.

• Once all of the correct information has been filled out, hit the Save icon in the upper right corner.
• In order to see the cameras, open the app menu and tap on Live View
• At first, it will look blank. This is because we need to add the cameras to the windows. Tap on the Add icon in the upper right corner

• A list of your devices will appear. Select the one that you want to view and hit Start Live View on the bottom

• Now you can view your cameras on the go!
