Main Interface

Pan, Tilt

On computers only: move camera left, right, up and down using directional controls. These controls are only available as you move the mouse to hover over the display edges (top,bottom, left and right in the middle). Not all cameras provide the full range of rotation, panning, tilting, etc.

Note:The screen can not be zoomed on the computer.

Playback

If you do not have an SD card in your camera, this will be a blank screen. If you do have an SD card in your camera and you capture videos, you will see a list of videos on the this screen.

To connect your device to your network:

Note: This only needs to be done once during the initial setup. After you connect your device to the network, you need to log in to your EBITCAM account and add the device to it.

Add camera to account

Click on ‘+’ in top left corner, select the device model, scan the QR code and add the device ID, and enter the network connection interface.

Select network connection method

When network configuration, you can choose Wi-Fi configuration or ethernet configuration.

Wi-Fi connection

Click the WiFi connection icon and press the RESET button to enter the WiFi configuration mode. Input the WiFi password, the connection should besuccessful!

Note: ① Press RESET key, hold for 1-2 seconds to enter the WiFi configuration,longpress10-12 seconds to restore the factory settings.

② If the WiFi configuration fails, check the following:

· That your wireless network is turned on and active.

· That you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password.

· That your Wi-Fi is 2.4 Ghz. If it still unable to connect, try to connect using an Ethernet cable.

③ The Outdoor Cameras only supports wired connections for WiFi.

Ethernet connection

Plug in the network cable and click the Ethernet Connection icon to connect to the network, change the password, rename the device, set the time zone and you are now ready to access the device.

Using Apps for iPhone and Android

Camera List Previews

The camera list panel contains all cameras you have added to your account. Each preview picture has various indicators for online, password changed status,offline or alarm.

Account Settings for Mobile Devices

The Settings page for iOS and Android are very similar. Minor differences are Account Settings for Mobile Devices indicated below.

The Settings page for mobile devices contains the following options:

User guest password：If you wish to allow someone access to your Camera, you can assign them a user guest password, which can be disabled at any time. Guests can view what the cameras are broadcasting and can move the cameras, but they will not be able to make any changes in the settings or use the remote microphone.

Binding email：Enter an email address. This is the email account to which Notification is sent when you ask to reset your password.

About：Software version

At the bottom of the screen, there is a Clear cache button. Click this to clear the cache on your mobile device. The original snapshots and/or videos stored on either your SD card or your Storage Device are not deleted when you click Clear Cache.

View a camera’s live video

To view a camera’s live video, touch a preview picture. Initial display will show a navigation bar with Buttons of record, snapshot, microphone, speaker, and Image setting buttons.The navigation bar will Disappear after two seconds.Touch anywhere on the live view to activate it again.

SD card video recording setup

Please go to Setting to enable the recording function after the SD card is inserted into the card slot on the camera.

Note: Please insert and remove the SD Card when the power switch is in the OFF position.

Device Settings

The Device Settings Page features a number of different tabs that are just to the right of your cameras. You are able to switch between the different cameras to access the settings information for each of them. Let’s look at the long list of items under this section.

About

In this section, you will find information about the particular camera that you are using.

It features several sections:

Nickname

In this section, you will be able to enter a nickname for your camera. Simply type the name into the box and then click on apply.

Now, that camera will go by that particular nickname when it shows up on the left side of the screen. This can make it nice and easy to know which camera is which quickly.

Date/Time

In the Date/Time tab, you can set the date and time for your camera. Choose the date, time, and the time zone. You can also choose to synchronize to the local date and time automatically. However, you can change the time manually if you prefer. You will want to have the correct date and time so you can schedule your recordings correctly.

System

Under System, there are three sections under System, as detailed below:

● Online upgrade

Online upgrade displays the current version number and shows if there is a newer version. You will see a red dot next to the Setting icon identifying that there is a new upgrade available. To download and install the latest software version, click Update.

● Restore to factory settings

If you click Restore, it will restore the camera to the factory defaults, which can restore to factory settings be helpful in case you have made changes to the camera and want to cancel these changes.

● Restart device

Clicking Restart reboots the camera. It is the same as unplugging the camera and plugging it back in again but is accomplished remotely. Note: When the camera goes office, such as when using the Restart button, the snapshots are deleted if you do not have storage.

Device Admin/Guest Password

● Admin Password

Each camera can have an Admin password. You can choose to give a person admin permissions on a single camera, but not all of the other cameras in your system, when you change the password through this setting.

● Guest Password

If you wish to grant someone access to your camera, you can assign them a device guest password, which can be disabled at any time. Guests can view what the cameras are broadcasting and can move the cameras, but they will not be able to make any changes in the settings or use the remote microphone.

Alarm

The camera carries the mobile detection and alarm. After the mobile detection is opened, the alarm information can be sent to the mobile phone when the camera detects the moving events and the objects are moved.

Record

Under the Record tab, you have the ability to enable recordings based on two different options: Continuous Recording and Event record. You should enable one of these options if you wish to schedule recording times automatically.

Accessory

The cameras can detect motion in the viewing areas and can as a result of that detection, take a snapshot, record a video, trigger an alert, etc.

The Accessory tab offers two options to configure what the camera should do if and when motion is detected in the covered area:

● Motion Detection

Select the Motion Detection tab to determine how sensitive the camera is when it comes to sensing motion. You can change the sensitivity settings for day and night operation separately to improve motion detection.

● Add Accessory

The Add Accessory is for external devices connected to the camera. This setting will only occur if the camera has RF peripheral functions.

SD Card

The SD Card section indicates whether you have an SD card in the camera and whether it is enabled.

● To use the SD card, place it into the slot on the back of the camera.

● If the camera does not recognize the SD card, remove the card and unplug the camera. Put in the SD card and then plug in the camera. The camera will reboot, and then it should be recognized.

Note: It is always recommended that you format the card after installation.

Recording Device

Using the Recording Device option, you can introduce another element of The Recording Device , the Cloud Box. The Cloud Box is an ideal DIY (Do It Yourself ) security solution for homes and small businesses that require the recording of many hours of continuous video.

To use a Cloud Box, you must first connect the Cloud Box to the same network where one or more cameras are connected. Once you have confirmed that the Cloud Box is connected, you need to enter the Cloud Box ID and password and enable its use in the Recording Device tab.

Cloud Storage

The cloud storage function is a video storage function developed by wireless ip cameras based on moving object detection technology.

When a camera detects moving events such as someone walked and objects were moved, the camera will automatically start to record,and highly encrypted upload to the cloud. At the same time effectively avoiding the loss of key evidence caused by human destruction, SD card damage, you can feel at ease.

Network

Warning: If you change the settings on this tab, it is possible that the network can be disconnected.

The Network Tab enables you to choose the network interface that you want to use – Ethernet or Wi-Fi. When you choose Ethernet, you can view the MAC address, the network status, and the IP information.

Once your device is connected, it is recommended that you do not change the settings or click Apply on the Network tab, as this is likely to cause you to be disconnected from the Network.

OSD (On Screen Display)

In the OSD tab, you are able to manage what displays on the video screen. These settings include:

● Display Text – Add text that will show up on the video screen.

● Display Date – Choose whether to display the date on the screen and the type of date format (MM-DD-YYY or YYY-MM-DD).

● Display Time – Choose whether to display the time on the screen and the time format (12 hour or 24 hour).

● Display Day of the Week – Choose whether to display the day of the weekon the live screen. After changing the settings, click Apply.

Others

Use the sliders to adjust the Speaker and the Microphone. You can make the Others volume higher or lower with these sliders. Sliding to the right makes the volume go higher, and sliding to the left makes it lower.

Flip is used when the camera is mounted upside down (for example, when it is attached to a ceiling). It will fiip the images viewed from the camera (either snapshot or recordings) so that they appear properly.

Cluebase VMS (video management system) is a software product that allows connecting video cameras to the server for further recording, live view and multiple additional functions.
Cluebase VMS is distributed as an open-platform commercial product under End User License Agreement.

System description

Cluebase VMS consists of the following parts:
2.1. Front-end (Web/Lunix/MacOs/Windows)
2.2. Back-end: server-side application that runs in the background
Cameras connect to Cluebase VMS via ONVIF and RTSP protocols.

Client app installation

Please note that Web client application is available instantly by accessing the server’s IP address via a web-browser. However is you need to install a client application on you desktop they available for downloading at https://vcloud.ai/downloads

a. Installing Linux app
Once you’ve downloaded file Cluebase_VMS_Linux_x_x.deb you can install it from the UI by double-clicking and following the screen instructions or you can do it from the command line:
sudo apt install Cluebase_ VMS_Linux_x_x.deb

b. Installing Windows app
Once you’ve downloaded file Cluebase_VMS_WIN_x_x.exe you can install it from the UI by double-clicking and following the screen instructions.

c. Installing MacOS app
Once you’ve downloaded file Cluebase_VMS_MacOS_x_x.dmg you can install it from the UI by double-clicking and following the screen instructions.

Signing in

After running the application for the first time you should see the Sign in screen.

Please enter your valid login and password and click Sign in. After installation you can use the default credentials: admin/admin.

License activation

Go to Settings->Services->VMS->vCloud.ai VMS->VMS License Request, fill the customer e-mail and name fields, specify the required licenses and click Send License Request. Your request will be delivered to vCloud.ai sales team so, in return, you should receive the License activation key file to your email.

Once received, you can Upload the license file at the screen bottom and click Activate.

8.1. Camera search tool
Camera search tool is created to simplify and speed up cameras discovery and connection processes.

Go to Settings->Cameras->Search

All supported cameras in the local network will be found automatically (normally within 5-10 seconds).

After specifying cameras’ credentials (name/login/password) you can add them one by one using the ‘+’ button on the left

Or you can click Add all devices to add all cameras with the specified credentials.

Click Refresh search to search the network again.

You can specify the search range manually.

By default the system will search in the current subnet.

8.2. Add cameras manually

Go to Settings->Cameras->Add camera
Name the camera, select connection type (ONVIF or RTSP) fill the IP address and port for ONVIF or the URL for the RTSP, fill Login and Password with camera’s credentials, select the time zone then click Add.

Your camera should then appear in All cameras/Devices section

8.3 Create a New Layout for the cameras

Storage settings

By default the VMS should identify all mounted drives from the system.

To enable a storage volume for recording please select the storage volume and switch it on:

Then select the cameras that are required to be recorded, set archive depth, select quality and click Save. The storage will be activated for recording immediately.

User access management

10.1. Managing roles
Go to Settings->Users->Add role

Name the role and grant access to specific cameras and functions. Click save.
Please note that all users with this role will then have access to the specified cameras and functions.
10.2. Managing users
Go to Settings->Users->Add new user

Specify the new user credentials: Username, Password and the required Role. Access granted to the selected Role is be indicated below but is not available for editing. To edit the permissions you need to edit the Role by clicking the pencil button

Map setup

To be able to locate the camera on the map you can add the coordinates or simply drag the camera across the map and then click Save.

Layout setup

Click New layout in the main menu

The Layout editing page will open

Give your new layout a Name, choose Layout template and drag’n’drop cameras or whole groups to the layout grid on the right-hand side.

Click Save to save your layout.

To edit existing layouts, click the Pencil button in the layout tab menu at the top of the screen:

Camera groups

Go to Settings->Cameras->Add group and fill the group name field. Then click “Add”

To edit a group click the ‘pencil’ icon on the right side of the group.

Now you can edit or delete the group.

To add a camera to a particular group go to camera settings and select the required group.

Cluebase VMS Installation Manual

Preparation

Download cluebase.zip from https://vcloud.ai/downloads and unzip the file. Please note that in some versions of Linux the unzip application is not included so you’ll need to install it separately with the following command:

sudo apt install unzip

Now unzip the Cluebase VMS installer with the following command:

sudo unzip cluebase.zip

The above command creates a directory containing the installation files.

Go to CluebaseVMS directory:

cd CluebaseVMS

Now you have to provide permissions to the installation script (install.sh):

sudo chmod +x install.sh

You are all set for the installation.

Automatic installation

Docker container framework and Docker-compose extension are required for Cluebase VMS installation and operation.

Installing on Linux

Please run the install.sh script to automatically install Cluebase VMS on a clean Linux OS.

To run the script, please go to the folder containing “install.sh” and run the following command:

$ sudo sh install.sh

Installing the SSL version

Here are the steps to install Cluebase VMS with SSL encryption:

1. Download Cluebase VMS SSL installer . Please note that it comes as a separate install package and available at https://vcloud.ai/downloads
2. Prepare SSL certificate and public key that are generated for the required domain name.
3. Unzip the installation package.
4. Navigate to ‘certs’ directory in the installation package.
5. Copy the SSL certificate and public key (file should be named as follows: cert.crt – SSL certificate, cert.key – public). The existing files should be replaced or removed before

Preparation for manual VMS installation

You will need to edit the environment variable file, the .env file, to successfully install the VMS.

Please note that this file is hidden in the folder by default.

Open the .env file and specify the server’s IP address in the following fields:

APP_HOST=0.0.0.0 (the server’s public IP address) MACHINE_HOST=0.0.0.0 (local IP address of the server)

If the VMS should only be used in the local network, both IP addresses will be the same.

Using a custom port for the VMS

By default the VMS installs and runs on port 80. However you can configure a different port by amending the .env file.

Open the .env file and add NGINX_PORT variable and it’s value (port number) as shown on the screenshot.

Installing and running VMS

Enter the VMS folder and run the following command:

$ sudo docker-compose up -d

This command will automatically download, install and run VMS.

Failover

Description

Cluebase VMS supports failover (hot swap) functionality as the following options:

1. 1 to 1 – every server in the system has a failover server
2. Many to 1 – several servers can be hot-swapped by 1 failover server
3. Many to Many – several servers can be hot-swapped by several failover servers

Important

1. In case of using the failover functionality it’s important to make sure that network storage is being used (Object storage or NAS)
2. Failover server hardware should be able to handle the required number of cameras so the failover servers’ hardware should be precisely calculated and configured.
3. Configuration is automatically sent from main server to failover every 5 minutes
4. Please note that shutting down the main server manually is considered as maintenance and will not initiate the failover process.
5. After switching back from failover server to the main server it is required to reset failover server’s configuration or reboot.

Setup

To set up a failover system you need to have at least 1 main server and 1 failover server.

Go to the main server user interface and open Failover settings: Settings->Failover->Add Failover Server and fill the fields with Failover server credentials. In the Logic field choose the server or servers that should be hot-swapped by the current Failover server. Then click Save.

Sign in

Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari are recommended), enter the server’s IP address and press Enter.

By default login and password: admin/admin.

Stopping the VMS

Run the following command from the VMS folder to stop the VMS server:

$ sudo docker-compose down

Updating VMS

To update the VMS version:
1.stop the VMS
2.Run the following command from the VMS folder:

$ sudo docker-compose pull

3.Restart VMS:

$ sudo docker-compose up -d

1. Cluebase video management system (VMS) is an enterprise-level client/server-based smart IP video security solution that provides management of video, audio and other data across an IP network. The video management system is designed to work with various ONVIF compliant 3^rd party products. Video from other sites may be viewed from single or numerous workstations simultaneously at any time.

2. The video management system can be deployed on a single PC for small or medium system applications or on separate interconnected PCs and servers to meet large systems requirements.

37. The video management system provides the user of the client workstation with an option to enable an automatic switching between a high and a low-resolution stream. The video management system automatically switches to a low-resolution stream, if the user of the client workstation opens multiple cameras on a monitor. The video management system automatically switches to a high-resolution stream, when the user maximizes a camera on the monitor.

38. The video management system support PTZ control with a dedicated graphical (virtual) joystick control, supporting Pan, Tilt, Zoom and Focus commands. For PTZ cameras, the cursor shall change to indicate the Pan/Tilt direction when hovering over the corresponding image pane. The Pan/Tilt speed shall increase as the cursor moves farther from the center of the virtual joystick. An additional control command near the Pan/Tilt command of the joystick shall be used for zoom-in/zoom-out control.

39. The video management system shall support digital zoom of any image pane. The mouse wheel shall control digital zoom when the mouse cursor is hovering over a selected image pane.

40.  The video management system provides an instant playback function. Instant playback supports pause, play forward, play reverse, single step forward, single step reverse, fast-forward.

41.  The video management system shall support a timeline that provides a graphical overview of video stored on the disk for particular camera. The timeline shall display a timescale that can be adjusted.

Video analytics

42. The video management system provides an integration with a server-based analytics platform.

43. The video analytic processing able to scale seamlessly by adding servers.

44. The system should allow the use of a pool of video analytic algorithm on any camera. It should be easy to change an algorithm from a camera to another.

45. The video analytic processing should be able to run on top of a server or to be virtualized using virtualization technologies.

46.The system can offer the following video analytic:

–   Object Detection – identifies people, cars, busses, trucks, motorcycles and animals in a defined area/zone.

–   Face recognition – an algorithm for human identification and verification, based on the facial recognition as well as the age and gender estimation. The algorithm creates a database of all faces captured by video cameras and lets you search the database for similar faces.

–   License plate recognition – an algorithm for license plate recognition. Video streams can be processed to search for and recognize license plate numbers in the frame. These license plate numbers are saved to a database and associated with the relevant recorded video. The database is searchable. License plate numbers can be compared to lists in real time, with actions performed (or not performed) depending on whether or not a license plate is found in the list. Aside from license plates, system can recognize the make, model, and color of vehicle, as well as the country and direction of movement of the car.

–   Traffic Analytics – intended for the calculation of intensity and determination of traffic structure classify the types of vehicles (car, bus, truck, bicycle, motorbike). It also counts people and provides statistical report with graphs and pies by hours, days, weeks, months.

–   Crowd Detection – estimates the number of people within a given area in real time and triggers an alarm when a specified number of people (capacity) or a specified percentage of people (occupancy) is reached.

–   Hard Hat Detection – detects people not wearing helmets, records video and sends alarms.

–   Heat Map – color visual representation of data analysis of customer activity presented by color visual representation of data (warm and cold zones).

–   Age & Gender Detection – determines the gender of customers and their approximate age by detecting and analyzing the faces of visitors.

–   Motion Detection – captures any movement in the scene. The following rules can be applied: line crossing, loitering, intrusion, abandoned object, disappearance of an object.

–   Smoke & Fire Detection – recognizes smoke and fire in the image.

–   Smart Tracking System – search people by attributes (color of clothes, bag, hair, hat, gender, and age).

–   Body Movement Detection – identifies a person in different positions: sitting, standing, walking, lying, getting up.

–   Wagon Identification – detection and recognition of wagon UIC numbers.

–   Smart Parking – management of parking lot, detection of license plates of entering vehicles, recognition of model, direction of movement, and payment status of the car.

47.It is possible to setup several “lists” in the database of the analytics platform. A list contains License plates or faces and related data.

48. The analytics platform detects license plates or faces in the live stream provided by the cameras and shall match them against the license plates and faces stored in data-base of the analytics platform

49. When there is a match, an event should be sent by the system to the video management system. Additional data such as the camera and the time of detection should be included in the event provided to the video management system.

50. When the event provided by the analytics platform triggers an alarm in the video management system, the following content shall appear in the alarm panel of the VMS:

–   A cropped extract of the original image.

–   The corresponding face or license plate taken from the database of the analytics platform to allow the operator to compare the captured image with the reference image from data-base

–   Additional data related to the face or license plate stored in the data-base of the analytics platform (e.g. name of person etc.)

51.  All events and meta-data are displayed in the archive on a timeline of corresponding camera of the video management system as an icon. If pointing the mouse arrow at this icon, a frame with the image of an object that triggered an alarm should appear.

52. System should support own AI-based embedded human and vehicle motion detection algorithm.

User interface elements

53. Video frame elements:

–   Should be able to switch from live video mode to archive mode. If video camera is being recorded switch button should appear as an activate. If not being recorded it should be in inactive status without possibility to click on it.

–   Should have button allowing instantly jump back to archive for a predefined number of seconds.

–   Should be a possibility to pause live video upon request and restart it by clicking on play button.

–   Should have date and time indicator, that allows to access archive at specified date and time.

–   Should have object counter element indicating number of detected objects of specific type.

–   Should have sound volume bar allowing to control sound from the camera with built-in microphone.

–   Should contain video analytics icon allowing to activate embedded AI-based motion detection analytics.

–   While clicking on video analytics “ai” icon, settings should be activated allowing to pre-configure embedded AI-based human and vehicle motion detection analytics.

–   In the pre-configurable settings, it should be possible to set the following parameters: enable video analytics button, sensitivity option in percentage, view zone button, send to alarm panel button, detections frequency in seconds, delay between detection in seconds, object type selection option.

–   If embedded human and vehicle motion detection analytics enabled the “ai” icon should turn green. When disabled it should be of a white color.

–   Stream management icon allowing to choose from lower and higher resolution video stream as well as allowing the system to perform automatic stream selection.

–   Google maps activation icon. If activated it partially overlays on the live video frame with the option to fully overlay on it indicating camera positioning on the map.

–   It should be possible to reload the video stream by clicking on a dedicated icon.

–   In the archive mode it should be possible to increase the video playback speed x2, x4, x8.

–   Video or frame can be exported by clicking on dedicated icons. Video can be exported in mp4 or avi formats. Frame can be exported in jpeg format.

–   It should be possible to expand and narrow down the archive timeline by scrolling the mouse wheel while pointing on a timeline or by clicking on the plus and minus buttons.

54. Upper menu panel:

–   All created layouts should appear in the menu panel. Each of them should have unique name.

–   All layouts displayed in the menu panel should be editable right from the panel.

–   It should be possible to move layouts by holding the mouse cursor and dragging them left and right.

–   I should be possible to hide upper menu panel by clicking on dedicated icon in a such way that it appears whenever user point mouse cursor back at the same area.

–   There should be an icon on menu panel that allows to work in tutorial mode. Once activated is should be possible to point by mouse cursor at any user interface element and receive short explanation what is this element created for.

–   There should be possibility to access expandable main menu from upper menu panel.

–   There should be an alarm indicator that changes the color and creates sound whenever alarm is triggered.

55. Alarm panel:

–   There should be a possibility to expand alarm panel by clicking on dedicated icon in the upper panel menu.

–   Alarm panel should have an option to filter events by: type of event, cameras and time of the event.

–   Each video analytics event should contain the following minimum information: frame (picture of the object), type of the analytics, camera, object type, and time and date of triggering.

–   If alarm is triggered by face recognition or license plate recognition analytics event may also contain the name of the person from the list.

–   There should be “apply” button to filter events and “reset” button to return to default status.

–   The latest triggered event should appear in the top of the list.

–   Alarm panel should have chat field so different users of the system could communicate through this chat.

56. Layout settings:

–   Layout configuration should be accessible from either by editing existing layouts or by accessing expandable main menu.

–   Layout settings should consist of: layout name field, layout templates, camera list, groups of cameras and save and cancel buttons.

–   System should have the following layout templates: 1 camera, 4 cameras, 9 cameras, 16 cameras, 25 cameras, 36 cameras, all cameras.

–   System should allow to add camera by drag and drop method to one of the chosen layouts using mouse cursor.

–   System should allow to drag and drop individual camera or the whole group.

–   Once layout created it should be possible to change position of live streaming cameras by drag and drop method without accessing layout settings.

Camera settings

57. Camera settings should consist of the following elements: name of the server, camera groups, individual cameras, manual camera adding option, adding group of cameras option, option to bind two or more servers,  automatic camera search option.

58. Individual camera setting should consist of the following elements:

–   Unique camera number field.

–   Device name field.

–   Camera ID.

–   Camera group field.

–   Recording schedule field.

–   Camera type field.

–   If camera being added through RTSP then RTSP URL field followed by login and password fields.

–   Receive event check box for events from integrated cameras.

–   Generate RTSP checkbox to create RTSP link.

–   PTZ checkbox for cameras added through ONVIF or native protocols.

–   Option to reset settings.

–   Frame showing camera live stream.

–   Option to set camera location on the google map.

–   Coordinates filed allowing to set camera on the google map by entering precise coordinates of the location.

59. Manual camera adding option should consist of the following fields: device name, camera type, IP and port fields if camera being added through ONVIF, RTSP URL if camera being added through RTSP, login and password fields.

60.Adding group of cameras setting should consist of add group field and add button.

61.  Bind server setting should consist of the following fields: server name, domain or IP address of the server, port, login and password.

62. It should be possible to bind 2 or more servers in the local network or with public IP.

63. It should be possible to bind 2 or more remotely distributed servers each of which is in their own local network using cloud link feature. It should be possible to manage local storage, access camera’s archive, create layouts and receive alarms from all of those binded local servers by 1 or more remote operators.

64.Automatic camera search setting should consist of the following fields: range of IP addresses field, list of discovered cameras including IP address of the camera, camera name field, login, password and ping information in milliseconds, add all devices and refresh the search buttons.

Storage settings

65. Storage setting should consist of the following elements: server name and hard drive discs.

66. Hard drive disk should have the following settings and fields:

–   On and off buttons that activate storage.

–   Individual camera storage settings section.

–   Checkbox allowing to select individual camera.

–   Camera unique umber.

–   Camera name.

–   Archive depths in days field.

–   Recording quality drop down field.

–   Recording logics drop down field allowing to select the following options: full time recording, scheduled recording or recording by triggered alarm.

–   Storage bulk configuration section.

–   General storage limit for the selected hard drive in Gb.

–   Pre-recording and post-recording fields in seconds.

–   Storage capacity bar indicating used space and free space on a hard drive.

Analytics settings

67. Analytics settings should consist of the following elements: server settings, notifications, alarms via emails.

68.Server settings should consist of the following fields:

–   Video analytics server URL or IP address.

–   Video analytics server authorization API token.

–   Option to store metadata in days.

69. Notifications settings should consist of the following fields:

–   Send email upon event occurrence with ability to enable and disable this option with the dedicated buttons.

–    Send event to Telegram messenger upon event occurrence including fields for Telegram bot API token and Telegram chat ID with ability to enable and disable this option with the dedicated buttons.

–   Send notification when camera connection is lost with checkboxes that allow to select where to send. There should be 3 options available: email, Telegram and alarm panel.

70.Alarm via email settings should be available for events from integrated cameras’ edge analytics and should consist of the following fields:

–   Buttons to enable or disable receiving alarms form the camera.

–   Fields to enter: email address, password, IMAP host and IMAP port.

License settings

71.  License settings should consist of two statuses: before the license has been activated and after activation status.

72. License activation status should consist of the following fields:

–   Customer email.

–   Customer name.

–   Number of required camera licenses.

–   Type of license allowing to choose temporary or permanent license.

–   Send license request button.

–    Buttons allowing to upload activation file and activate licenses.

73. After licenses were activated license setting should contain the following information:

–   License type: permanent or temporary.

–   Customer email address.

–   Customer name.

–   Number of activated licenses.

–   License status.

Users settings

74.Users settings menu should consist of created users and roles assigned to the users, option to add new user and option to add new role.

75. By default, there should be admin role and admin user created.

76. For admin user fields to change user name and user role should be disabled. User name should always remain as admin and user role should always remain as Admin.

77. Add new user setting should consist of the following elements:

–   Username filed.

–   Password field.

–   Dropdown menu to select a role.

–   Checkboxes showing cameras that are allowed to be controlled by the user.

–   Checkboxes showing current permissions set for the user: camera settings, storage settings, system settings, user settings, layout settings, analytics settings, camera archive access, exporting and alarm notifications.

–   Buttons that are enabled or disabled depending on set permissions for the user: archive status, access to microphones, access to reports.

78. Add new role setting should consist of the following elements:

–   Role name filed.

–   Checkboxes allowing to select cameras to be controlled by the user by this specific role.

–   Checkboxes setting the following permissions for this specific role: camera settings, storage settings, system settings, user settings, layout settings, analytics settings, camera archive access, exporting and alarm notifications.

–   Buttons that should enabled or disabled the following permissions for the user: archive status, access to microphones, access to reports.

General settings

79. General settings menu should consist of the following settings: video stream, user interface, recording schedules, system information, cloud link, demo mode.

80. Video stream settings should have possibility to set live stream and archive chunk size in seconds.

81.  There should be a possibility to enable and disable pulling both camera streams (lower and higher resolution) at the same time.

82. User interface settings should allow to enable and disable automatic page reload after predefined number of seconds.

83. Recording schedules setting should allow to set day of the week and time to schedule the recording of video in the archive. Possibility to create schedule should be easy and intuitive by double clicking on the schedule indicator and dragging the bar from side to side by holding mouse cursor. It also should include list of created scheduled in the drop-down menu.

84. System information setting should include the following parameters: CPU load, RAM load, UI version and server version.

85. Cloud link setting should allow to create tunnel between the server of the user and client machine of the user that connects to the server. By enabling cloud link system should generate URL that should allow the user without any additional VPN or public IP on a server side to connect to the server using his access credentials from any location. Server and client should have internet access.

86.Demo mode setting should allow to enable four video clips that can be used as virtual cameras.

Localization settings

87. Localization setting should contain list of languages with checkboxes. Once user chooses preferred language user interface language should instantly change to the chosen language.

1. App Password Issues

NOTE: If you are receiving a “Username or Password is incorrect!” error message, ensure you have confirmed your email address.

1. To perform an app password reset, follow the steps below:
   1. Tap Reset password within the app.
   2. Enter the email address associated with your account and tap Send reset.
   3. You will be emailed a temporary reset code. Open your email from a web browser and retrieve the code.
   4. Return to the app and enter the reset code into the password field. Then tap Sign in.
   5. After you have entered the 6 character code, you will be prompted to create a new password. Once you have completed this section. You have successfully reset your app password.

2. Device Login Issues

To remotely view your system, you will need to add it to the Night Owl X App (smartphones) or Night Owl X HD App (tablets). When doing so, you will be asked to enter the username and password for the system. This is the password you created during the Startup Wizard, when you initially setup the recorder. If you do not remember your password, click on Forgot Password on your recorder’s login screen from a TV / Monitor.

NOTE: This is not the password you created in the app. The password you enter here will be the password for your recorder (DVR/NVR), which should be stored in your Quick Setup Guide. DO NOT enter the password for the app, as this will produce an error message.

3. Adding Additional Users for Remote Viewing

If you are the admin of the system and wish to allow someone else to remotely view the cameras from their Smart Device, you will need to create a second set of login credentials for them to use. Please follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your recorder from a TV / Monitor using your admin credentials. The username should always be “admin” when creating a secondary account.
2. Click anywhere on the screen to make the menu taskbar appear at the bottom of the screen.
3. Select the Main Menu icon on the left of the taskbar.
4. Navigate to the System or Configuration
5. On the left side of the screen click the Users
6. Click on Add or Add User.
7. Left-click on Edit at the bottom of the screen.
8. Edit the second username and then create a username and password for this additional user.
9. Lastly, select which permissions you would like this user to have.
10. Once complete, share these login credentials with the second user so they can add the system to the Night Owl X / X HD App on their Smart Device to begin viewing.

4. P2P Connection Issues

If the app is not connecting, the QR Code or Owl Scan isn’t working, the P2P doesn’t match the P2P in the recorder firmware or the QR Code is missing, follow the steps below.

NOTE: The P2P ID for your recorder should be on the support sticker on the top or bottom of your recorder.

1. Ensure that your recorder is properly connected to your router with the Ethernet cable included in your package.
2. Make sure you have installed the correct application for your system and mobile device.
3. Connect to your local Wi-Fi network, on your Smart Device, and launch the application.
4. Locate the P2P ID for your system.NOTE: If the P2P QR Code is damaged or missing, please proceed to step g.
   
5. Open the Night Owl X / X HD App and use Owl Scan to scan the QR Code on your recorder.
6. Once you have scanned the QR Code, ensure the P2P ID matches what is on the support sticker on your recorder.
7. If the sticker is damaged or missing from your recorder, please:
   1. Log in to your recorder from a TV / Monitor.
   2. Access the Main Menu by left or right-clicking anywhere on the screen to make the menu icons appear.
   3. From within the Main Menu, click on Configuration / System.
   4. Next, click on Network / System Info.NOTE: The System Info tab will display the QR Code and P2P ID for your recorder.
8. Within the app, you should now be able to see your recorder and cameras.

5. Playback / Connection Issues

If you are experiencing playback or connection issues, such as slow video / freezing or connection failure, follow the steps below.

1. First, ensure you are using the right mobile app for your recorder. You can visit your product’s Series page at support.nightowlsp.com and/or doublecheck your Quick Setup Guide to verify you are using the right app.
2. Make sure your recorder and your Smart Device are both properly connected to the Internet.NOTE: Please make sure your Smart Device is connected to the same local network (router) as the recorder. If you are not sure if your recorder is properly connected to the Internet or you don’t know how to check it, please click DVR / NVR Troubleshooting.
   
3. Ensure your Smart Device meets the minimum requirements listed below:
   1. The coverage in your area must support 3G, 4G, or 4G LTE.
   2. Your Smart Device must support 3G, 4G, or 4G LTE.
   3. Your Smart Device must have the latest version of the Night Owl X / X HD App downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store. (Make sure you have enough free space to keep the app up to date)
   4. The SIM card must be inserted properly in your Smart Device (if applicable).
   5. Ensure that your Smart Device is running the latest software.
4. Reboot your Smart Device.
   1. Remove and reinsert the battery. If the device doesn’t have a removable battery, press and hold the power button and volume down button for up to 15 seconds until the device resets.
   2. Turn the device back on and reopen the Night Owl X / X HD App.
   3. Uninstall and reinstall the Night Owl X / X HD App and check if the issue still happens.
      
      NOTE: Uninstalling and reinstalling the application may remove any saved recordings within the application.
5. Check your Internet speeds. Make sure the network where the recorder is connected meets the minimum requirements.
   1. Use a computer with PC /MAC OS
   2. Open a website browser and type www.speedtest.net
   3. Right-clicking on Begin Test
   4. See the download/upload speedsNOTE: We recommend a minimum of 2 Mbps dedicated upload speed for your recorder. Consider that your Internet connection is shared between all the devices you have in your home. So, you will need more than 3 Mbps of upload speed to have your device properly connected.
6. For push notification issues, please ensure that push alerts are enabled in the recorder and in the Night Owl X / X HD App for the channel in question. For more information on how to do this, refer to your product’s manual on our support site.
7. TIPS: Situations where signal strength can be affected.
   1. Poor coverage due to building materials or destructive interference.
   2. Free apps and free games are filled with advertisements that eat your bandwidth and can contribute to poor coverage.
   3. Your mobile carrier / ISP does not have coverage in the area where you want to connect to the recorder.

6. CMS Initial Setup

• 1. Download the Night Owl X CMS software.
  2. Install and launch the Night Owl X CMS software.
  3. Once you have launched the Night Owl X CMS software, you will have the option to create an account or to sign in with a pre-existing account. If you are creating a new account, click Create an account.NOTE: If you have already created and confirmed your account via the Night Owl X or X HD app, you can log in using your email and password that was created during the setup of your account.
  4. On the next screen, you will be prompted to enter your Email Address, Password, and Confirm Password.
  5. After filling in all the values, click Create Account. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address that was entered for your account.
  6. Please click Confirm Email in the confirmation email to complete the account setup.
  7. After you have confirmed your email, click the Sign in tab in the Night Owl X CMS software.
  8. Click on the Device Manager tab at the top of the screen.
  9. If you can see a UID number and an IP address, this means that your device was recognized by the Local Network. Here you will enter the same credentials on the User Name and Password These should be the same credentials created during the initial setup of your recorder.
  10. After you have filled in those values, click on the add tab to add your device to the Night Owl X CMS software. Your recorder should now appear in the top right corner of the screen in a thumbnail image.

 7. CMS Crash / Black Screen Issues

If you are using the Night Owl X CMS (Control Management Software) and it is crashing or showing a black screen, try the steps below:

1. Make sure you are using the correct CMS software for your recorder.
2. For black screen issues using a Windows PC:
   1. Find the Night Owl X CMS icon located on your PC.
   2. Right-click on the software icon and then left-click Run as administrator.
   3. This will give the CMS more priority to perform better and will correct the black screen in most cases.
3. Please be sure that your PC/MAC complies with the following specifications:
   1. PC Operating System: Windows® 7, Windows® 8/8.1 and Windows® 10 or above.
   2. MAC Operating System: MAC OS X® 10.9 and above.
4. As a last resort, try restarting the CMS software.

1. Accessing your Product Manual

Your product manual has detailed information on all of your product’s features and capabilities. It includes images of each menu within your recorder’s firmware and easy step-by-step information on making adjustments to your settings. To access it:

a.  Visit Support.NightOwlSP.com

b.  Enter your Series located on the product’s support sticker.

NOTE: For recorder’s, the support sticker is usually located on top in the left-hand corner.

 

c. Under Helpful Resources, click on “Manual.” This will download a full copy of your manual to your PC or Mac.

3. Login Issues on your Recorder

For enhanced privacy and security, we recommend using your Night Owl Protect username to log in to your recorder.

The following options can be used to login to your Night Owl Protect recorder:

Option #1: Username

a. Type your username.
b. Enter your password.
c. Tap “Login.”

Option #2: Email Address

NOTE: Your email address MUST be verified in your Night Owl Protect account, or you will be unable to use it to access the Night Owl Protect account from your Smart Device.

a. Follow the steps below to verify your email address using the Night Owl Protect app:

1. Log in to your Night Owl Protect mobile app.
2. Tap “Account” on the bottom right of the Devices screen.
3. Tap on your “Name/Email.”
4. Tap “Verify” next to your email address to receive an email with a secure code.
5. Retrieve the code from the email and return to the app.
6. Enter the code into the blank field to verify your email address.

b. Follow the steps below to verify your email address using the Night Owl Protect website:

1. Go to  https://www.no-protect.com/
2. Log in to your Night Owl Protect account with your username and password.
3. Click your “Username” in the upper right corner of the window.
4. Click “Manage my account.”
5. Click “Verify” next to your email address to receive an email with a secure code.
6. Retrieve the code from the email and return to the website.
7. Enter the code into the blank field to verify your email address.

Option #3:Mobile Phone Number

NOTE: Your mobile phone number was verified when you created your Night Owl Protect account.

Follow the steps below to use your mobile phone number to log in to your account:

a. If it is not pre-populated, you MUST enter +1 into the field.
NOTE: The + is found by clicking 123 on the on-screen keyboard that appears when logging into the recorder.
b. Next, enter the area code followed by the phone number (no spaces or dashes).
c. Example: +15551234567
d. Enter your password and click “Login.”

 

4. Username Issues

For added security benefits, we recommend using your username to login to your Night Owl recorder. If you have forgotten your username, you can find it by signing into the mobile app with your pin, face id, email or phone number.

a. Log in to your Night Owl Protect mobile app.

b. Tap on “Account” on the bottom right of the Devices screen.

 

c. Tap on your “Name/Email.”

 

d. Your username is found in the Username field.

 

5. Password Reset

Single Sign-On lets you securely access multiple Night Owl devices with one set of login credentials. The password is the same for your recorder and the mobile app, so you can quickly reset it without having to call Technical Support.

My DVR/NVR is connected to the Internet.

a. Using the Mobile App

If you forgot your password and are logged into the DVR/NVR with your Night Owl Protect account credentials, go to the mobile Night Owl Protect app to reset the password.

1. Tap “Forgot my password” on the Night Owl Protect app login page.
2. After resetting, log into your DVR/NVR with the new password.
3. Be sure to keep your DVR/NVR powered on and connected to the Internet so that it can receive the new password once you change it.

b. Not Using the Mobile App

If you are not using the mobile Night Owl Protect app you can also reset your DVR / NVR password.

1. Visit https://www.no-protect.com/
2. Click “Get Started.”
3. On the next page select “Forgot Password.”
4. Enter your Night Owl Protect username and a new password will be sent to your registered email address.

My DVR/NVR is not connected to the Internet or it hasn’t been logged into using my Night Owl Protect account credentials.

a. Click “Forgot password” in the DVR/NVR Login screen.
b. A reset code is required for password resets. To receive a code log into your Night Owl Protect account, or if you don’t have an account, you can create one by clicking here .
c. Once registered, click on the device’s panel.
d. Click the “Reset Code” button on the right side of the panel.
e. Enter the date that is currently displaying on the device’s Live View.
f. Click “Ok” to receive a Reset Code.
g. Return to the DVR /NVR and enter the code.
h. Once verified, you can create a new password.

 

6. How to Share Access via the App

Want to share access to your system with a family member, friend or co-worker? You can easily do so using the Night Owl Protect App.

To share access to your Night Owl Protect device, the guest MUST have their own Night Owl Protect account. Please ensure they have downloaded the app onto their Smart Device, setup their account and verified their email before proceeding.

a. To Share Access to your Night Owl Protect Device:

1. Log in to the Night Owl Protect app on your mobile device.
2. From the Devices page, tap on the device you want to share access to.
3. Under Sharing, tap on “Members” (Android) or “Shared Users” (iOS).
4. If you have not already done so, you may be asked to verify your email address before sharing access. To do so:

• Tap “Verify Now.”
• Tap on your “Email” under Email Address.
• Tap on “Verify My Email.”
• Tap “OK.”
• A secure code will be sent to your email. Go to your email and retrieve the code then return to the app.
• Enter the secure code and then tap “Verify My Email.”
• Your email address has now been confirmed and you’ll see “Verified” next to your email.

5. Tap on “Get Started” if prompted.
6. Tap on “Add Member” (Android) or “Add a Person” (iOS).
NOTE: Before you proceed, the person you are sharing access with must have downloaded the Night Owl Protect App to their Smart Device, setup their account and verified their email. If they have not, please have them do so before continuing.
7. Enter the name of the person you are sharing access with in the Name field.
8. Tap on the device you want to share (Android) or “Next” (iOS).
9. Enter the email address of the person you are sharing access with in the Email field.
10. Enter a personal message (optional).
11. Tap the “✓” (Android) or “Send” (iOS) in the top right corner of the screen.
12. An email invite will be sent to the guest and you will see them added as a member. At this time the guest will see the shared recorder on the devices page of their Night Owl Protect mobile app and can access it.
NOTE: The person must have the app on their Smart Device, setup their account and verified their email. If there is any issue gaining access, ensure they have done so. As a last resort, use the steps below to delete them and then perform steps 1 through 12 again.

b. To Delete a Shared Access Member:

1. Log in to the Night Owl Protect app on your mobile device.
2. On the Devices page, tap on the device you would like to remove a guest from.
3. Tap on “Members” (Android) or “Shared Users” (iOS) under Sharing.
4. Tap on the person you want to delete.
5. Tap on “Remove User From This Device” (Android) or “Remove” (iOS).
6. You will be asked if you are sure. Tap “OK” (Android) or “Confirm” (iOS) to confirm.
7. The member will now be removed and will no longer have access to your Night Owl Protect device.

CMS software compatible with Ajax Translator

Ajax Translator receives events via the internet. In cities where internet connection is unstable, it is recommended to use VHF transmitters. The vhfBridge transponder is a module for connecting Ajax security systems to third-party VHF transmitters. It can be used as a primary or a backup communication channel.

How to get Ajax Translator

To get Ajax Translator, fill out the online form. If the form is filled out correctly, a link to the current version of Ajax Translator, login, and password for

authorization will be sent to your email address within 48 hours.

Your company will also be added to the Security Companies list in the Ajax app. This will allow you to receive user requests to connect security monitoring directly to Ajax Translator: the user selects your company from the list in the app, clicks Send monitoring request, and the request is automatically sent to the email assigned to the security company.

System requirements

You can add no more than 5,000 objects from one account. If you service more than 5,000 objects, please create another account through our support team. You can service no more than 10,000 objects with one Translator, if the recommended system requirements are met.

Installation

Run the Ajax_Translator.jar executable and follow the instructions.

After installation, the Ajax Translator folder contains: clientSettings.properties — is a file with the default settings for Ajax Translator. advanced-virtual-com-port.zip, com0com (x86, x64).zip, vspd for example.exe — programs for creating virtual COM ports. Please note that these programs only run on Windows.

The executable and other service folders:

Ajax Translator

log — the folder where Ajax Translator work logs are stored. If the program malfunctions, the data from this folder is sent to Ajax Systems Support Service for analysis.

settings — the folder where the Ajax Translator configuration file as well as database files with backups are stored.

Do not rename or change the location of folders and files inside the Translator Dist folder! This will lead to program malfunctions.

Ajax_Translator.jar — Ajax Ajax Translator application with the version number in the file name. To run the app, Java Version 7 Update from 211 to 271 (Oracle) must be installed on the computer. This can be downloaded from the official site.

Java does not support operating with COM ports. If connection with Ajax Translator via the COM port is needed, use Java 1.8 version.

Do not move the executable file! It should remain in the Translator Dist folder. Create a shortcut on the desktop for easy startup.

After running the Ajax_Translator.jar executable, you will see an account login window.

Copy and paste the login and password received from the Support Service. Use the Remember me option not to enter your user name and password each time the program starts.

For Ajax Translator autoload, create a shortcut for the executable file and configure autoload according to your operating system instructions.

How to update Ajax Translator

Ajax Translator version 1.8 and higher regularly checks the server for updates. If the program detects a new version, the Update button becomes active in the app.

After clicking the Update button, the current version of the app is downloaded. As soon as downloading is finished, Ajax Translator displays a window with a prompt to install the update.

To install the update, you need to restart Ajax Translator. Install the update in the folder where the program is already installed.

If the Enable auto-login option is active, you will be offered 2 options: automatic and manual installation.

• When you choose automatic installation, the app shuts down and then updates automatically. The Ajax Translator starts again upon completion of the installation.
• If you choose manual installation, follow the instructions in the app to install the update. The Ajax Translator starts again upon completion of the installation.

If the Enable auto-login option is inactive, you can update Ajax Translator in manual mode only.

How to update the app if the Ajax Translator version is lower than 1.8

1. Exit Ajax Translator.
2. Download the actual version of the app here.
3. Unpack the archive and run Ajax_Translator.jar. This is the installation file for Ajax Translator.
4. Install the update following the installer instructions. Install the update in the folder containing the old version of Ajax Translator. This will save all linked hubs and program settings.
5. Launch Ajax Translator.

How Ajax Translator Works

All data transmitted by the hub is protected by block encryption with a dynamic key. Third-party console software cannot decrypt it independently. Ajax

Translator receives a message from the hub, decrypts it, converts it into standardized protocol messages, and translates it into CMS software.

Connecting Ajax Translator to CMS

Ajax Translator transmits messages through the event receiver of the Central Monitoring Station. You can configure communication with the CMS receiver via TCP/IP or via virtual/physical COM port.

Connecting via Socket (TCP/IP)

After you specify the server IP address and port in Ajax Translator settings, you will be able to transfer data both within the same computer (server) and on the local network or via the internet.

Before configuring Ajax Translator, you should create a new event source via TCP/IP in the event receiver of your CMS. When creating an event source, specify the port to which events will be transmitted from Ajax Translator in the Port field (the default value is 9292). In the Address field, leave the value 0.0.0.0 (localhost). This parameter changes if the computer has two or more IP addresses. In this case, you should specify which IP address and port the events will be received at CMS.

Option 1: Ajax Translator and event receiver on the same computer (server)

Launch Ajax Translator. Enter your user name and password, and click Enter. If you have specified the localhost IP address and port 9292 when configuring the event receiver, Ajax Translator will start immediately, since these values are set by default.

If another port or IP address has been specified in the event receiver or in Ajax Translator settings, a window with a “Failed to connect to Socket port” error will be displayed with the port number and IP address to which Ajax Translator was trying to connect.

In this case, click OK to proceed to configure them. In the window that opens, enter the port number and IP address that were specified when creating the event source, click Save, and then OK.

After the settings are saved, the login and password entry window will be displayed.

Important: at this stage, close the program by clicking on the cross in the upper right corner to apply the settings. If you click the Enter button, Ajax Translator will not apply the settings and you will not be able to start the program again.

If Ajax Translator was closed correctly, TCP/IP connection will be established during the next startup.

Option 2: Ajax Translator and event receiver on the same local network

If Ajax Translator and the event receiver are installed on different computers but on the same local network, the event receiver is configured the same way as described in the previous option, while Ajax Translator configuration is different.

When starting, Ajax Translator will return an error of failed connection to the Socket port. Click OK to go to the settings.

In the window that opens, specify the IP address of the computer (server) on which the CMS event receiver is installed in the Host field. Also indicate the port number if other than 9292. Click Save, then OK.

Connecting via COM port

If Ajax Translator and CMS event receiver are installed on the same computer (local server), they can be connected via a pair of virtual COM ports. You can also connect separate computers through two physical COM ports.

Before you configure the connection through the COM port, make sure you change the default connection settings of Ajax Translator.

Changing Ajax Translator default connection settings

CMS connection via TCP/IP is installed in Ajax Translator by default. You can change the connection parameter in the Ajax Translator configuration file.

Make sure that Ajax Translator is not currently running.

Open the folder with Ajax Translator files, go to the Translator Dist folder and then to the Settings folder.

Open the clientsetting file using the default Notepad application.

Search for the string senderType = SOC and replace the “SOC” with “COM”.

Creating virtual COM ports

Before you configure Ajax Translator, create a pair of virtual COM ports. Any emulator, for example, com0com, is suitable for creating virtual COM ports. Emulator setup instructions are available from the developer.

Specify one virtual port as the event source in the event receiver of your CMS and the other port in the settings of the CMS Connection menu in Ajax Translator.

Setting up virtual COM ports

After changing the configuration file and creating the virtual COM ports, launch Ajax Translator. Enter your user name, password, and click Enter. Use the Remember me option to not enter your user name and password each time the program starts.

Connection via COM port 3 is established by default in Ajax Translator settings. If your computer has a COM port with this number and it is not busy with any processes, Ajax Translator will connect to it and start. For correct transmission of events to the CMS, change COM settings in Ajax Translator settings and indicate the number of the virtual port you have created: Setting —> CMS Connection —> COM Settings —> Specify COM Port.

If your computer does not have a COM port with this number or the port is busy with another process, the message “Connection to COM port failed” will be displayed.

Click OK to configure the COM port settings.

In the window that opens, the following settings will be available:

• ComNumber — COM port number to which data will be transmitted
• Baud Rate — data transfer rate
• Data Bits — data bits
• Stop Bits — stop bits
• Parity — parity control

Enter the number of the other COM port from the previously created pair in the ComNumber field, click Save, and then OK.

The remaining Baud Rate, Data Bits, Stop Bits, and Parity settings shall match the settings on the CMS side.

After the settings are saved, the login and password entry window will be displayed.

At this stage, close the program by clicking on the cross in the upper right corner to apply the settings. If you click the Enter button, Ajax Translator will not apply the settings and you will not be able to start the program again.

If Ajax Translator has been closed correctly, connection via the COM port will be established the next time you start.

Setting up Ajax Translator

The Ajax Translator settings menu is located in the Settings tab:

CMS connection

The CMS connection setup menu consists of the following blocks:

The Settings of “Ping” messages for CMS block is responsible for periodically checking the connection between the CMS and Ajax Translator (it should be configured on the CMS)

Send “Ping” to CMS turns on/off sending of test messages

Ping String — configuration of the string to be sent to CMS

Ping HEX Message — the code of the verification message sent

HEX message is in hexadecimal format (converted to text in the log). For example, HEX message 4444 will be shown as DD. HEX should be used to display ASCII characters and extra spaces at the end of a ping message.

Ping Period — sets the frequency of sending test messages in seconds

Listen for COM port ping answer — an option to control the event reception by your CMS

COM Port

The Type of connection to CMS block allows configuring the connection between CMS software and Ajax Translator via TCP/IP or COM port.

To connect via TCP/IP, disable Wait for CMS message acknowledgement. In this case, Ajax Translator will not wait for a response to the event sent. When connected via a pair of COM ports, Ajax Translator always expects CMS message receipt confirmation. If Ajax Translator does not receive confirmation, it reports that there is no communication with the CMS.

The CMS Message Protocol block is designed to configure the event transmission protocol. It contains:

1. Protocol selection drop-down menu.
2. Descriptive block with protocol decryption.
3. Receiver number — sets the number of the event receiver. The default value is 00.
4. Line number — sets the line number of the event receiver. The default value is 0.
5. Translator object number — object number assigned to Ajax Translator, which can be used to control CMS communication.
6. Cloud connection alarms — sets the communication absence time (in seconds) after which the CMS will receive a notification on loss of communication between Ajax Translator and Ajax Cloud.

Ajax Translator

1. Translator keepalive handle — enables/disables test messages that are used to verify Ajax Translator hub connection. This also sets their frequency (in minutes).

Network

Two options are available in Ajax Cloud server connection settings: Host and Port.

Ajax Translator works with DNS over port 443 (by default). All traffic going over this port is encrypted. To ensure the correct operation of Ajax Translator, you need to allow all traffic types on the 443 port.

The address for connecting Ajax Translator is hts.prod.ajax.systems.

If there is no internet connection on the computer, Ajax Translator will generate an error as follows:

“If you have internet connection but the message still appears, check Translator settings in the Network menu.”

Objects

The Objects menu consists of two tables and allows administering hubs connected to CMS. The table on the left shows the hubs from which users have sent a monitoring request through the Security Companies tab in the Ajax app. The table on the right shows the binding of hub IDs to CMS object numbers.

If the monitoring request was sent for the first time, then the Status line opposite the hub ID displays Not confirmed status. If the hub has already been linked to the CMS object number, the status is Confirmed. If the user has canceled the monitoring request in Ajax application, the status will be indicated as Waiting for removal.

Search by objects

The hub can be found in the list of objects by object number or by hub ID. To correctly search by hub ID, always enter Latin characters in the UPPER case.

By default, the search is performed by object number. To find the hub, enter the object number in the field and click Find:

To search by hub ID, click the ObjNum button — its name will change to HubId, enter the hub ID in the search field, and click Search.

Termination of object monitoring

To suspend receiving events from an object, click on it in the table on the right and then click Move to inactive. The status of the object will change to Inactive, and the object will be displayed at the end of the list. To resume receiving events from the hub, click Add to active.

To discontinue monitoring an object, remove the hub from Ajax Translator: select the hub in the right table and click the Delete bounded hub button.

Then select the hub in the table on the left and click the trash icon.

Events

The Events menu allows you to edit event codes. Ajax Translator can transmit the following types of events to CMS:

• Alarms: fire, emergency, security, general, non-security, keyboard, tamper, visual verification (only SIA DC-09 (ADM-CID), Sentinel, Kronos, Manitou, Listener, MASXML and SBN)
• Malfunctions
• Communication problems
• Periodic tests
• Arming and disarming
• Pressing the panic button in the Ajax app (along with coordinates)

Changing event code

Translator app allows changing the default event codes (Contact ID). For example, your CMS uses the E725 code to report loss of communication with the central unit, and the hub sends the E350 code. In order not to change the CMS settings, edit the code in Ajax Translator. This feature is supported by all protocols with the events that can be sent via Ajax Translator.

Go to the Events menu.

In the Replace what field, enter the code that requires adjustment, in the Replace to field, enter the new code, and click the Add button.

You cannot edit the rules for replacing event codes. If the rule is not relevant, delete it.

To delete an irrelevant rule, enter the code to be deleted in the Replace what field and click the Delete button. After correct deletion, you will receive a notification as follows.

Configuring the filter of events transmitted to the CMS

Ajax Translator can send only certain hub events to the CMS. Therefore, you can configure the transmission of fire alarms only, without receiving notification of any other events.

To set up a filter:

1. Go to the folder where Ajax Translator is installed.
2. Go to the Settings folder and open the clientSetting.properties file using the standard Notepad application or a similar text editor.
3. Add acceptableCodes = XXX; to the end of the file.

XXX — is the code of the event that you do not want to receive at the CMS. Do not use the E or R prefix. Note that the code must be followed by a semicolon (;). To specify several codes, separate them by a space.

An example of a line with one code: acceptableCodes = 111;

An example of a line with several codes: acceptableCodes = 111; 112; 113; 130;

Ajax Translator event transfer protocols

Ajax Translator supports protocols for transmitting events to CMS:

• transmission the coordinates of the panic
button pressed in the Ajax app

Visual alarm verifications are transmitted through the Ajax Cloud server. When a direct connection is used (bypassing the server), a series of photos from MotionCam/MotionCam Outdoor will not be sent to the CMS. In this case, the photos will be transmitted to Ajax apps, including PRO Desktop (if the app is used).

Event transmission via SIA DC-09 (ADM-CID) protocol

Connecting the hub to Ajax Translator

Communication between the hub and CMS software can be configured:

• via the Ajax Cloud server
• directly (bypassing the Ajax Cloud)
• directly and via Ajax Cloud at the same time

Use both communication channels to provide a more stable connection with the CMS.

How to connect a hub via Ajax Cloud

To connect the hub via a cloud server, the user with administrator rights should send a monitoring request by selecting a security company in Ajax application (Hub —> Settings —> Security Companies —> Select a company —> Send monitoring request). After that, the hub ID will appear in the list of available objects in Ajax Translator (table on the left).

To bind the hub to the CMS object number, highlight the hub ID in the table on the left and press the arrow button. The hub will be added to the table on the right with console number 0.

Double-click the cell in the Object No. column in the row of your hub in the table on the right. Write a free number to the object and press Enter on the keyboard. The object number should be within the range of 1 to 9999. If you enter a number of more than one character, do not put zeros in front of the object number: use “1” instead of “0001”.

If you change the number and fail to press Enter, the hub will not be added to CMS. After successful binding, the Status line changes to Active.

In CMS software, create an object with the number matching the number assigned to the hub number in Ajax Translator.

How to connect the hub directly

Before you start connecting the hub to Ajax Translator bypassing the Ajax Cloud server, forward any external TCP port to internal port 3060. This way you provide an external static IP address for connection.

If the required port is busy, make changes to the Ajax Translator configuration file.

Open the folder with Ajax Translator files, go to the Translator Dist folder and then to the Settings folder.

After configuring the connection from the CMS side, go to the Monitoring Station menu in the hub settings in the Ajax app. Indicate the IP address and the number of the forwarded external TCP port. Select the communication channels through which the hub will connect to your server: Ethernet and/or GPRS.

If only the GPRS channel is used for communication, activate the Ignore network registration errors in the cellular data settings.

(Hub —> Settings —> Cellular data)

After configuring the connection between the hub and Ajax Translator via the TCP port, bind the hub ID to the CMS object number.

Go to the Objects menu in Ajax Translator, enter the eight-digit hub ID in the input field, and click the Create local bound button.

How to connect the hub directly and via Ajax Cloud

To connect the hub via two communication channels at the same time, follow the connection procedure via Ajax Cloud and then configure direct connection as described in this manual.

The priority of direct connection is higher than the cloud server connection. If direct connection fails for any reason, Ajax Translator starts receiving events from the hub via Ajax Cloud. This way you can provide more stable monitoring of the protected object.

1. Installation and Connection

Before connecting, please have the following items in hand:

Camera（referred to as “Device” hereafter), 2.4GHz router, 5V2A power supply, cell phone.

Connecting Procedures:

1) Power up the Device using 5V2A power supply and wait for the startup to complete

2) After startup, the device will issue a sound which means it has been connected successfully.

3) Download and install client on cell phone

Android user: Please search for Danale from Android Market or Google Play

iPhone user: Please search for Danale from APP store

4) After downloading and installing the APP, launch it and register an account using cell phone number or email address.

1. Tap the “+” (Add Camera) in the center to add a device after registration and logging in.

6) Choose “Wifi Connection”, then “SmartAdd”.

7) Choose the WiFi which the Device is to connect and enter the WiFi password, tap “Next”. The APP would automatically search cameras within the coverage of router. (note: please do not place camera too far away from router when you do this step).

1. After the device is shown on the device list, please tap “Add” next to the device to set a name for the device. Then tap “Ok”, the Device will show on the main screen.

Note: If you can’t find the device via wireless wifi connection, please use the Ethernet cable to connect the device to your router.

2.Basic Configuration of the Mobile Client

2.1 Cloud Service

The Device supports cloud service and you can purchase cloud service if you need. Cloud service is not activated by default.

Procedures to activate cloud service:

1) After successfully connecting the Device, tap the upper-left corner on the main menu screen of the cell phone APP

2) Select “Cloud Service”

3) Select the device that you want to open the cloud service, tap “Purchase”.

4) Please read service terms of the cloud recording then purchase different services based on your need.

Privilege of cloud recording:

1) Automatic recording backup

2) Check warning anytime

3) Safer data

2.2 System Messages

System messages of the Device are shown in “System Messages”, currently including warning message and device sharing message.

Detailed procedures are as follows:

1) Tap upper-left corner on main menu screen of APP after successful connection

2) Select “System Messages” to check messages

2.3 Device System Configuration

In the preview screen, click on the top right corner to set the button to enter the system configuration interface.

2.3.1 Device System Details

Here you can check the origin of added Device, Device ID, manufacture and product type.

2.3.2 Safety Settings

Safety settings include “Motion Detector” and “Sound Detector”.

1) Motion detector

The motion detector is off by default. The sensitivity of motion detector could be adjusted if needed (low, middle, high)

2) Sound detector

The sound detector is off by default. The sensitivity of sound detector could be adjusted if needed (low, middle, high)

2.3.3 General Settings

(1) Time setting

Device time settings, including device time, date and time zone.

You can also choose “Synch to Phone Time” to automatically synchronize all time settings from the phone

(2) Set WLAN

After connecting Device, you can check the WiFi Device connects to in “WiFi Settings” and configure LAN parameters.

(3) Power supply frequency

You can choose from 50 Hz and 60 Hz. It’s 50 Hz by default.

(4) SD card management

After inserting and formatting SD card, set time periods for recording according your need in “SD card management”. The Device is set to record 7/24 by default.

(5) Init (Initialization)

2.3.4 Firmware Upgrade

You can upgrade to the latest published firmware if needed

2.3.5 Delete Device

If the Device is no longer used or the user is to change, please make sure to remove the Device from phone client and reset Device.

3.Common Function Settings and Applications of Cell Phone Client

3.1 Recording and Playback

After successfully adding Device, open APP and the added Device will show automatically on the main screen. You can preview online frames by simply tapping it.

Cradle head could be rotated by finger swiping upward, downward, leftward and rightward on the preview screen.

Procedures to set up recording playback:

1) Before starting recording, make sure memory card is installed or the cloud service is activated (we only deal with memory card here)

2) On the main screen, tap up-right corner for settings and then tap Device under “IPC” to enter the IPC configuration

3) Tap “Device Settings”, then choose “SD card settings”, click to add a new recording plan(7/24 hour recording by default)

4) Wait for 30 min, go to APP main menu screen then tap playback button, select “Sd Card video” to retrieve recordings

3.2 Motion Detection

Your Device supports motion detector and it can be turned on if needed.

Setting up procedures:

1) Open Danale phone client and go to main screen

2) Tap upper-right corner for settings

3)Click “Security setting”- “Motion Detection”

4) Motion detector is turned off by default. Three sensitivity levels (low, middle and high) can be chosen based on needs.

3.3 Device Sharing with Friends

After adding Device and before it’s deleted and reset, other users cannot add Device again. User can use share function to share Device to other users.

Procedures:

1) User goes to APP main screen and select Device to be shared

2) Tap “Share” on lower-right corner

1. scan the QR code of the target user’s account or manually enter the required target user’s phone number or email address which is used to register, click ‘Next’. To check the QR code of the user account is as shown below.

4) Target user signs in on other phone client and check system messages, where the user can accept sharing. The image of the shared Device will appear on APP main screen automatically

4.Instruction on Using PC Client

4.1 PC Client Download and Installation

The Device supports remote operation on Windows client. Below are procedures of downloading PC client:

1) Enter in your browser with the link d.jooan.cc

2) Click “Download Now” to download and install the client

5.2 Instructions for Main Operations of the Client

5.2.1 Client Login

If you already registered on phone client, you can directly login using that user account. Or you can also register a new account.

When logging in using existing account, the added Device will automatically show on the client main screen. If it’s a new account, the existing user needs to share the added Device to the new user or adds a new Device in order to use.

5.2.2 Adding New Device from Client

If there is no added Device and the Device is to be firstly used on PC client, you can add Device using PC client after registering a new use account.

Procedures:

1) Log into the PC client and go to the main screen

2) Select “Add Device” on left side

3) Select “Airlink Add” to add Device

4) Enter WiFi name and password then click “Next”. Client will automatically search for Device within the local network

5) Click the searched Device, set Device name then click “Next” and it’s ready to use

Note: we recommend using phone client to add new Device

5.2.3 Preview and Playback

(1) Preview

After successfully adding a Device, double click the Device on the right to preview picture

Hover mouse cursor to four edges of the preview picture and arrowheads pointing to different directions will appear. Click the arrowhead to rotate cradle head

Note: PC client distinguishes Devices added by local user and Devices shared by others. If you’re using a shared Device you need to select “Friend Share” on the left side.

(2) Playback

The Device stores recording using cloud storage or SD card storage and there are two paths for playback: “Cloud Video” and “SD Video”

Procedures for playback:

1) After successfully adding Device on client, it will show on the left side of main screen

Click the icon for setting of the Device to playback, choose “Cloud Video” or “SD Video”

2) The client will open playback window automatically and the user can drag the slider to choose a play time

5.2.4 Device Management

PC client could be used for management of remote Devices.

Procedures:

1) After logging into the client and adding Device, click “Manage Device” on left side to see added Devices

2) Choose the Device to configure and click the setting up icon

3) Choose “Config Device”. The parameter settings are the same as using phone client

Will you be able to see your previous notifications after getting a cloud subscription if you had notification alerts before adding a cloud service?

Well, no. The notification alerts prior to cloud subscription can only be seen as soon as they appear. You can only record alert notification messages when you have the cloud service available. Also, only after buying the cloud service can the camera record video accompanying such alerts.

How Do You Change the Nickname for Your Camera?

Go to the main dashboard of the app and tap on the live feed video for the camera you wish to get an update for. Tap the gear icon found on the screen’s top-right corner.

Select the “Device Name” from the menu. This will allow you to change the name of the device to whatever name you want.

How Do You Adjust the Motion or Detection Alerts?

First, go to the camera you wish to add motion/sound detection adjustments to and tap on that camera’s live feed. Click on the gear icon or the three dots on the top right of the screen. A menu will appear. Select the “Security Settings” option from there.

Select either “Sound Detection” or “Motion Detection” options then adjust these alerts’ sensitivity. You can also opt out of them by turning them off. The more sensitive the detection the likelier you’ll end up with false alarms though.

How Do You Reset or Recover a Lost Password?

To reset your password, tap on the upper-left hand corner of your main screen to access “General Settings”. Afterwards, tap on the picture above your username and select the “Change Password” option. From there, change your password.

If you’ve merely forgotten your password, tap on “Forgot Password” on the login screen. Enter your phone number or account email. You’ll go to a page requesting for a reset code. You can get that code from your email or via text message.

Just enter the code exactly as you see it and now you can enter a new password to enter your Danale account.

How Do You Share Your Device with Another User?

While on the main screen, go to the top left of the screen and tap on the three bars there. A menu will appear. Select the “Share” option on the menu then select the “Add User” button for good measure. You can enter the username of the person you wish to share videos with or scan a QR code.

Please remember that sharing videos with another user entails him having their own account made by their own copy of the Danale app. This person will only get live-viewing privileges from your cam and won’t be able to view notifications or review your cloud video history.
