Your FLIR Client 12 software system information screen displays useful system information such as the IP address, MAC address, device ID, Device model, and firmware version for your DVR / NVR system.

To access system information:

You can add, edit, or delete IP cameras from your LNK Series NVR from the local area network (LAN) using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac. IP cameras connected directly to the NVR automatically appear in the IP Cameras menu.

Prerequisites:

To add an IP camera:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under Settings, click Display to open the IP Camera tab.

4.Click Quick Add to search for and add IP cameras from the LAN.

5.Click the Add icon () next to an empty channel to manually add an IP camera.

LIMITATION: LHK Series NVRs only support Lorex IP cameras. Visit www.lorex.com/compatibility for a complete list of compatible IP cameras. When adding Lorex PTZ cameras, ensure that you change the Protocol from Private to ONVIF.

To edit IP cameras:

• Click the Edit icon () to edit a connected IP camera using the camera attributes window:

To delete an IP camera:

• Click the Delete icon () to delete a connected IP camera.

REMINDER: Deleting an IP camera removes it from the channel it is currently connected to. You can add these cameras to the system again at any time. You can only delete cameras from the LAN, and not those which are connected directly to the NVR.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Changing a camera’s On-Screen Display (OSD)

The On-Screen Display (OSD) shows the channel name with the date and time stamp on the top-right corner of the live feed or video playback. You can change the settings and the position of the OSD using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

Prerequisites:

To change a camera’s OSD name / timestamp:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under Settings,‎ click Display and then click the Live tab.

4.In the Channel drop-down menu, select the channel to configure the OSD for.

5.Click the field next to Channel Name to edit the channel name.

6.Click the Show Name switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎ the channel name shown on-screen in live viewing and recordings.

7.Click the Covert switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎‎ the timestamp shown on-screen in recordings.

IMPORTANT: By default,‎ the system is set to show timestamps in video recordings. It is highly recommended to show timestamps in recordings for legal reasons.

8.Click Save to save settings.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Configuring basic network settings

The LHA / LNK Series DVR / NVR requires an IP address to communicate with the router. The IP address can be automatically assigned by the router using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), or can be manually assigned a static IP address. You can configure these settings using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

Prerequisites:

REMINDER: DHCP is the recommended default network setting. A static IP address requires you to configure the IP address,‎ subnet mask,‎ gateway, and DNS settings.

7.In the Bitrate Control drop-down, select a control method:

◦ CBR (default)‎: Constant Bit Rate.‎

◦ VBR: Variable Bit Rate. In the second drop-down, select a quality level for the video stream.

8.In the Bitrate Mode drop-down menu, select the bitrate mode:

◦ Predefined: select a preset value.

◦ User-defined: enter a custom bitrate value.

9.In the Bitrate drop-down menu, select the bitrate mode (predefined bitrate mode)‎,‎ or enter a custom bitrate between 1024-8192Kbps (user-defined bitrate mode)‎.

10.Click the Audio switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎ audio on the selected channel (audio-enabled camera required)‎.

11.Click Save.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Configuring motion detection settings

You can configure your DVR / NVR system to record motion detection events using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

Prerequisites:

To enable and configure motion detection:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under Settings, click Alarm to open the Motion tab.

4.In the Channel drop-down menu, select a channel to configure motion detection for.

5.Click the Enable switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎ motion detection.

6.In the Sensitivity drop-down menu, select a sensitivity level for motion events. The lower the sensitivity value,‎ the more movement is required to trigger motion detection.

7.In the Buzzer drop-down menu, select whether you would like the DVR to make an alarm sound when motion is detected.

8.Click the Full Screen switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎ full screen viewing when motion is detected.

9.In the Post Recording drop-down, select the amount of time the system will record video for after motion is detected.

10.Click the Show Message switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎ on-screen messages when motion is detected.

11.Click the Send Email switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎ email notification when motion is detected.

IMPORTANT: Ensure you have enabled email notifications.

12.Click the Record Channel switch to enable ()‎ or disable ()‎ recording when motion is detected.

13.Click on the numbered boxes representing channels that should also be recorded when motion is detected on the selected channel. Check the Analog All checkbox to select all.

14.The camera image appears with a red grid overlay on the entire image,‎ letting you know that motion detection is active for the entire image. Click or click-and-drag to add / remove area from the red grid.

REMINDER: Motion detection will be disabled for areas of the image without red overlay. Motion events which occur in the red overlay will not trigger motion detection. Disabling motion detection in certain areas of the image is an effective way to eliminate unwanted recordings and notifications,‎ such as those caused by trees blowing in the wind or street traffic seen through an open window.

15.Click Save.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Configuring recording settings

Your DVR / NVR system has recording settings that can be configured using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac. Basic configuration options include recording for specific channels, selecting a stream mode, and enabling pre-recording.

Prerequisites:

To configure recording settings:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software on your PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under Settings,‎ click Record to open the Record tab.

4.In the Channel drop-down menu, select a channel to set recording parameters for.

5.In the Stream Mode drop-down menu, configure the recording mode:

◦ Select DualStream to record using mainstream recording settings while using the substream for remote viewing.

◦ Select MainStream to use mainstream recording only.

IMPORTANT: You must set the Stream Mode to DualStream in order to play back recordings using the FLIR Secure mobile app. Live viewing will not be affected.

6.Click the Record switch to enable ( )‎ or disable ( )‎ recording.

7.Click the PreRecord switch to enable ( )‎ or disable ( )‎ pre-recording of motion events.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Date and time on the DVR / NVR

If you would like to correct or adjust your DVR / NVR system time, you can configure time settings by enabling / disabling the Network Time Protocol (NTP), adjust Daylight Savings Time (DST), or manually enter the time using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

Prerequisites:

To enable / disable NTP:

1.Launch FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under System, click General to open the General tab.

4.Click the NTP checkbox to show NTP options.

5.Click the NTP switch to enable () or disable () NTP on the system.

6.In the Server Address drop-down menu, select the desired NTP server.

RECOMMENDED: Use the default Lorex server: ntp.lorexddns.net.

7.In the Time Zone drop-down menu, select the correct region.

REMINDER: In most cases, the region should already be correct as it was configured during the DVR setup wizard. The selected region is also used by the system to intelligently determine the correct video format for that region, which may change automatically when changing the region. For example, changing the region from New York to London will also switch the video format of the system from NTSC to PAL.

8.Click Save to sync with the NTP server.

You can also manually enter a time in your DVR / NVR system using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

To manually configure the date and time:

FLIR Client 12 Software: Downloading recorded video on PC / Mac

FLIR Client 12 software allows you to download recorded video for storage or playback on your PC / Mac.

The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Client 12 software and a PC / Mac.

To download recorded video:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software on your PC / Mac.

2.Click Playback in the top-right corner of the home page.

3.Click the Download icon () to open the Download menu.

TIP: Video files available for download during your current playback period are shown in the Download menu.

4.Click the checkbox next to the video files you want to download to your computer. You can see the start time,‎ end time, and file size of each video before downloading.

5.Click Start Download to download the selected files on your PC / Mac.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Viewing downloaded video with Lorex Player 11 on PC / Mac

When you download recorded video using the FLIR Client 12 software,‎ the software allows you to select the file type.

The following instructions require you to access your system using the Lorex Player 11 software and a PC / Mac.

To view downloaded video using Lorex Player 11:

1.Launch Lorex Player 11 on your PC / Mac.

2.Click Open File to load a single video file. If you want to load a folder, click the Arrow icon () next to Open File.

TIP: If you wish to learn more about where your downloaded video file is located, click here for details on setting video download location and file type.

3.Select the file and click Open. If you are opening a folder,‎ click Add.

4.Double-click the file in the list on the right-side to begin playback.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Enabling and configuring Auto Capture of snapshots

You can set the your DVR / NVR system to record snapshots using the Auto Capture feature on your FLIR Client 12 software. Auto Capture automatically saves snapshots of a camera image at time intervals, and help to conserve hard disk drive (HDD) space during times when video recording is not required. ‎Auto Capture is disabled by default.

To enable and configure Auto Capture:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under Settings, click Picture to open the Picture tab.

4.In the Channel drop-down menu, select a channel to configure Auto Capture for.

5.In the Stream Mode drop-down menu, select Main stream or Sub stream for Auto Captures.

6.In the Continuous Interval drop-down menu, select a time period. A snapshot will be captured at every continuous interval even if there is no activity in the camera image.

7.In the Alarm Interval drop-down menu, select a time period. A snapshot will be captured at every alarm interval while a motion event is occurring.

8.Click the Auto Capture switch to enable () or disable () Auto Capture for the selected channel.

9.Click Save.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Enabling and configuring Manual Capture of snapshots

You can quickly take snapshots from enabled channels using the Manual Capture feature using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac. Capture by default, is disabled.

To enable and configure Manual Capture:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under Settings, click Picture to open the Picture tab.

4.In the Channel drop-down menu, select a channel to enable Manual Capture for.

5.Click the Manual Capture switch to enable () or disable () Manual Capture for the selected channel.

6.Click Save.

Once you have enabled manual capture, you can manually capture snapshots.

To manually capture a snapshot:

Click the Manual Capture icon () on the Mini Menu above a camera’s live display.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Logging in on PC / Mac

You can access your LHA / LNK Series DVR / NVR System using the FLIR Client 12 software on your PC / Mac.

You can use the FLIR Client 12 software on your PC / Mac to change user passwords, change permissions, or enable / disable user accounts.

To modify user accounts:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 software on your PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the home page.

3.Under System,‎ click Users to open the Users tab.

4.Click the administrator or user account you would like to edit.

5.Configure the following:

◦ User Name: Modify the user name for the selected account.

◦ Password / Confirm: Modify and confirm a new password for the selected account.

6.For user accounts, edit the user permissions to your preference:

◦ Check the boxes next to any system menus or capabilities you would like the user to access.

◦ Click All to check all boxes.

FLIR Client 12 Software: Restoring to default settings

You can restore your DVR / NVR system to default settings using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac. You can choose to restore all settings at once, or just settings on specific menus. Restoring default settings does not affect recordings and snapshots saved to the hard drive.

To restore default settings:

1.Launch the FLIR Client 12 Software for PC / Mac.

2.Click Remote Setting in the top-right corner of the window.

3.Under Advanced, click Maintenance, then click the Load Default tab.

4.Click the switches next to the system menus to you would like to include () or discard () from the restore, or click All to reset all menus.

5.Click Save to confirm. The DVR / NVR will reboot automatically.

You can set your DVR / NVR system to a custom recording schedule according to your needs using the FLIR Client 12 software for PC / Mac. For example, you can set the system to record continuously during business hours and record on motion detection only outside of business hours. RECOMMENDED: For Mac users who wish to view backed up video on their computer, select the AVI or MP4 file type,‎ which can be played by most video player software.
PC Users have the option of using the Lorex Player 11 software which is capable of playing H.264 files.

Once you have set your file path, you can download your recorded videos.

   Users may manually switch between languages. The initial user name is admin, and the initial password is 123456. Enter the password, click on “Login”; if you have selected “Remember password”, you do not have to enter the password and the program automatically logs in as “Auto login”.    Select a protocol. ZKTeco protocol is an independently developed protocol of our company. Front-end devices should support ZKTeco protocol. ZKTeco’s front-end devices currently used for shipping basically supports this protocol. The ZKTeco-P protocol is the protocol used by PTZ domes.ONVIF protocol is the joint ownership protocol for access to third-party devices that support this protocol.

   Select the protocols as needed, it is to click on “Search” to search for online devices in the LAN. Take ZKTeco protocol as an example:

   RecPlan has a default whole-day template and a working day template. In case of the need of other RecPlan templates, click on “User Template” to add those you need; start to record as the RecPlan set. Yellow arrow in the figure shows the recording status of the channel. Red means the channel is working; blue means the otherwise.

   There are four kinds of recording modes, including timing & alarm recording, timing recording, alarm recording and stop recording, among which, timing & alarm recording refers to the timing plus alarm recording, i.e. timing recording runs if no alarm recording has been triggered, while alarm recording runs as an alarm has been triggered; timing recording refers to only time stamps you set; alarm recording means record starts when an alarm is triggered; and stop recording means do not record at all.

4. Pre-record and time delay function are only available in two modes: timing & alarm recording and alarm recording, particularly the alarm recording; copy to channel refers to copy the RecPlan of certain channel to other channel that already added to the storage server; advanced setting can set up different partitions of disk for recording while some others do not; the default setting is that other disks can be used for recording besides the system disk. Click on “Save” to make the settings effective as the configuration completed.

   In case the channel added to the storage server shall be modified, right-click on the channel added to add a channel, delete single channel and delete all channels; click on “Save” when the configuration completed and recording starts.

   1. Decoding Group

   Switch to the “Dec Group” interface in the device management module, as shown below:

   The operation configuration method of this group is similar to the preview group mentioned above, except that this group is used for intra-group patrol on the decoder. For details, please refer to the introduction of the decoding management module in the following section.

   2. Preview

   Click “Preview” on the main interface to enter the preview module:

   

   As shown in the figure, the device list is on the left side, displaying all devices added currently and the online and offline status of device. PTZ control interface and video parameter control interface are on the right side. Below the video parameter control interface is the split screen switch button, with which, user may manually switch the number of split screens according to the actual demand.

5. Split screen modes include standard split and wide-screen split, corresponding to different window scales. The differences between them have been elaborated in the layout module, thus no further introduction now. Besides the regular kinds of split screens, there are several special-shaped splits for customers to select corresponding numbers as needed.

   Double-click on the device list on the left side or drag the channel to the window opens the preview window of the device channel. Opened channels video will play on the corresponding panels.

   picture; the enlargement and narrowing of the aperture ensures the brightness and depth of field of

   the picture; the setting of the PTZ control speed can adjust the rotation speed of the speed dome

   • 1. Preview Multi-screen Display

   You may access multiple modules in the preview module. Each of them is independent. If the user’s monitor supports multi-screen mode output, you may use the multi-screen display feature. Considering the actual situation, the maximum preview module to be opened can be restricted to 5. For instance, when you have opened two preview modules, you may drag one of them out with the same operations as dragging the module to another monitoring screen, as shown below:

   

   The monitoring screen on the left is the primary screen; while that on the right is the complementary screen. The operations of preview between two screens doesn’t influence each other; closing the complementary screen will not affect the primary screen, however, the complementary screen will be closed if the primary screen is closed.

6. Users may select the number of preview screens to be opened as needed. For instance, one screen can be selected to open Cruise and display independently in one monitor, meanwhile, another screen can carry out the operations of temporary preview, monitoring and intercom.

   Select a device channel where the video to be played from the device tree on the left. Please note that only videos in the same device or same storage server can be played simultaneously, and at most 9 channels can be selected each time.

Select the storage path of the video on the left, select the stream type of the video to be played in the column of “stream type”, and select the date on the calendar, click on “video search”, then the system will starts to search for the relevant video(s) and display the search results on the search result panel.

Video path includes “device”, “local” and “storage”, among which, the device video refers to the video stored in the hard disk or the SD card of the front-end device, local video refers to the video stored in the PC of the client server and the storage video refers to the video stores in the storage server.

When an alarm is triggered and the associated channel is deployed on the map, the channel icon on the map will turn into red.

   When you have selected a scheme, please set the decoding mode of the decoder to ensure normal decoding. The decoding mode is relevant to the decoder and varies according to different decoders, and the decoding mode is the expression of the decoding capability of the decoder. Click on

   Decoding mode represents the current decoding capability of the decoder, which is listed in the figure and supports 3 decoding modes, i.e. 16 channels 720 x576, 9 channels 1280 x960 and 4 channels 2048 x1536.

Please note that the subsequent number represents the maximum resolution of decoding, for example, under the 9-channel mode, the maximum resolution of decoding is 1280×960; the decoding mode of different decoders varies as well. It shall be normally decoded and displayed as the resolution of the front-end IPC has been guaranteed not to exceed the resolution restriction of the current decoder mode.
    • 1. Decoding on the wall

    When you have selected a scheme, select the channel for decoding on the wall in the device list on

    the left, then drag the relevant decoder to the corresponding decoding screen to complete decoding

    on the wall. Use the

    

    button to change the stream type of decoding on the wall before

    dragging. Select main stream or sub-stream on the wall.

    7.2.1 Decoding group Patrol

    The decoding management group has been mentioned in the device management module discussed above. After setting up the decoding group, users may drag the group to the TV wall in the

    The group dragged to the TV wall output can automatically open the patrol within group. The patrol interval can be set at the time of configuring the decoding group. The default value is 2 seconds.

    Click on the “ADD” button to add a pre-plan:

    

    Set a “Plan Name” and “Stay Time” for the pre-plan patrol. The default value of “Stay Time” is 15 seconds; the minimum value is 10 seconds. After completion of settings, please click on “OK” to enter the pre-plan edit mode:

    

    Configure the Pre-plan. Select the decoder split screen, decoding stream type and channel to edit the pre-plan settings. When you have completed settings, please click on “Save Pre-plan” to complete the editing.

    operation, which is much convenient for users. Users may delete the saved pre-plans and perform other operations. If you have set several pre-plans, click “Start Pre-plan Patrol” to allow the decoder to start cruise according to the configured pre-plan.

    • 1. Decoding rolling

    In case of Decoding rolling to be fulfilled in certain decoder, the decoder must be selected for Cruise during TV wall scheme setting (please see section 6.2), and the roll group has been determined in the course of scheme setting.

    As the roll group and roll screen has been assured to be set in the scheme, on the button below in the interface to start/pause the Cruise , click the o button in the process of roll to stop roll (note: roll control button is only effective to roll decoder but general decoder).

    • 1. Introduction of Buttons on Preview Operation Interface

    On the preview operation interface, there is a row of function buttons

    • 1. Introduction of Buttons on Playback Operation Interface

    The function buttons in the lower part of playback operation interface are

    functions of the buttons, please see the section above. Its functions includes: play/pause, stop, frame

    play, playback speed adjustment, full screen, split -screen number button, decoder CLS, splict offset settings, open/close the split, TV wall CLS.

    1. Alarm Configuration

    Click on the “Alarm configuration” button on the main interface to access the alarm configuration interface. “Alarm configuration” is an alarm rule setting module. If a user wants to fulfill alarm linkage in the client-end, the alarm linkage rule must be set in advance.

    Alarm configuration interface shows the currently set linkage rules and the state of the rule.

    • 1. Add Linkage Rule

    To add an alarm linkage rule, please click on “Add” at the upper left corner, as shown below:

    1. Rule name: alarm linkage rule name is user-defined.
    2. Alarm type: currently support 8 types of alarm, including Alarm in, Motion detection, Tampering, Video Loss, Area alarm, Object alarm, Cross line alarm and Counting alarm. Among which, the last four kinds are specialized to the device about intelligent detection. Regarding the definitions of the 8 types of alarm, please see NVR’s specifications.
    3. Alarm source: Click on the check box to add all channels of all devices to VMS which can currently be selected.
    4. Linkage action: includes capture, PTZ, Map, Record, pop Image and TV wall, which are defined respectively as below.

    Capture: captures the picture of the linkage channel.

    PTZ: controls the linkage channel. You may choose to call certain presets, call certain cruises or certain tracks. Only front devices which support PTZ control can be linked to PTZ.

    Map: displays an alarm on map interface. For the linkage of map alarm, the channel to be linked shall be deployed on the map. When an alarm is triggered, the icon of the channel will be indicated in red on the map.

    Record: when an alarm is triggered, the channel linked starts recording at local storage server, where you shall configure the RecPlan in advance. Records can be viewed by searching in the playback module.

    Pop image: when an alarm is triggered, the preview window will pop up from the main interface displaying the real-time preview of the linked channel.

    TV Wall: select a channel and TV Wall for wall-run. When an alarm is triggered, the real-time preview picture of this channel will be uploaded to the TV Wall.

    Note: If the linkage action has been set as map, video, popup image and TV Wall, the front-end devices shall be selected. It shall be “auto-end” or “Schedule end”; “auto end” means that there is no linkage action upon the completion of alarm, while “timing end” means that the linkage action will end at the set time, which ranges from 1 second to 36,000 seconds.

    1. Action param: the linkage action set can be displayed in this column.
    2. Remarks: indicates relevant information of this linkage rule. It can be customized and omitted.

    Upon completion of alarm rule adding, users may click on “Modify” indicated in the figure to edit the existing rule.

    1. Alarm Management

    Click on the “Alarm” button on the main interface to enter the alarm management interface:

    

    Alarm management interface displays all alarm information upload to VMS. Select time range to search and an alarm type, click on the “Search” button, then the system will search for relevant alarm information. There are 8 types of alarms, including alarm input, motion detection, video tampering alarm, video loss, target count detection, area detection, object detection and line crossing detection.

    Log management interface displays all important operation records of a user. Select a log type and time range to search, click on “Retrieve” to start searching. Log types include login/logout, device management, start/stop rec, linkage management and remote configuration.

    1. login/logout: users log in/out records.
    2. Device management: management of records about user registration, modification and deletion of devices.
    3. Start/stop recording: start/stop local video record.
    4. Linkage management: management about recordsfromf user operations, such as addition, modification and deletion of a linkage rule.
    5. Remote configuration: records of user operations in terms of remote configuration, and modification of parameters for front-end devices.

    The log will record the operation time, the user performed such operations, IP address where the operation is conducted, types of operations and target address of relevant important operations in details, which help the administrator to find out any issues.

    User admin listed in the user management interface has the rights to set privilege for sub-users and users. There is a default super user whose name is “admin”, which can not be deleted and has all privileges. Click on “Modify” to change the password of the super user.

    • 1. Add Sub-user

    Click on “Add user” at the left-upper corner to add a new user:

    

    The default user type is “Guest”, which means an ordinary user, not an administrative user. The user

    type cannot be modified. Fill in the user name, password, type the password again, then click on “OK’ to add a new user. The password and that to input at the field “Confirm password” shall be the same.

    To assign sub-users access rights, click on the “Right” button indicated in the figure to grant the users relevant access privileges:

    

    Types of access include common access, map access and decoder access.

    Common access: includes preview, playback, video, intercom and PTZ control; depends on channels. The administrator may distribute relevant channels to the corresponding sub-users. The number corresponding to PTZ represents the control priority of PTZ. You may double-click to edit, and select a value from 0 to 10, among which, 0 indicates that there will be no PTZ control access, and 1-10 indicates the priority of PTZ control access. The larger the number, the higher the authority, i.e. 10

    represents the top priority of PTZ control while 1 represents the lowest priority.

    Channels without preview access distributed will be hidden if a sub-user logs in. Similarly, channels without relevant access rights cannot offer users access to playback, video and intercom. users can’t apply the corresponding functions. For instance, there are only 3 channels have been distributed to test sub-user, as shown in the figure:

    

    Login with sub-user can only view three channels, as shown in the figure below:

    1. Auto login: when VMS software opens, it will automatically log in.
    2. Boot from the start: when you select this feature, the client-end program will run automatically when the server which runs VMS boot up.

    open of preview will open main stream and sub stream under the speed mode, however, only one of them will be displayed, therefor, it will be faster for switching and also saves the bandwidth. “Save” mode means that only one stream shall be opened at the same time; the current stream shall be closed to open another. 11. Users may select the mode as needed. In addition, it can be selected under certain number of split screens to automatically switch to main stream under the circumstance of auto stream, 1,4 and 9 channels are optional.

    1. Window scale: for preview or playback. You may choose from full screen, 4:3 and 16:9.
    2. Capture path: the directory to save captured pictures, including preview captures, playback captures and alarm linkage captures.
    3. Download path: the directory to down documents.
    4. Export log path: the directory to export log documents.
    5. Sync device time: manual or automatic synchronization of time of access devices.
    6. Alarm sounds: selection of sound, which is used as alarm linkage sound. You may customize the sound.
    7. Rec storage path setting: setting local directory to save recorded documents.
    8. Data backup and restore: backing up and restoring database to prevent data loss.
    9. Channel count: displaying the authorized total number of channels. ZKTeco: unlimited Channel;

    1. Record colors: defining the color of indication of different types of videos.
    2. Version: the version number of the current program (non-modifiable).

Click “Next” to confirm to create desktop shortcut, continue to complete setup (©note: computer already setup antivirus program may pop-up prompt; please select “allow” with no exception for the normal setup start of the program), the program runs as the setup completed, as shown in figure:

Forgot password

Users may manually switch between languages. The initial user name is admin, and the initial password is 123456. Enter the password, click on “Login”; if you have selected “Remember password”, you do not have to enter the password and the program automatically logs in as “Auto login”.

The function of automatic login can be canceled in local configuration. When you forget the password, click on “Forgot password” to get a temporary key for the supplier to help you get a temporary password. Below is the main interface of the program:

1) Display current user, user rights, current time, consumption of CPU memory and real-time

network data flow; click on

2) Display real-time alarm messages and event messages; double-click on the alarm message to

open the preview of the current alarm channel for users to view alarm in real-time manner.

1. Device Management

1. Add a Device

Click on “Device management” on the main interface.

This interface displays relevant information of all devices added to VMS, including device type, protocol type and online and offline status; click on “Add device” at the top right corner, the “add device” interface will then pop up:

Select a protocol. ZKTeco protocol is an independently developed protocol of our company. Front-end devices should support ZKTeco protocol. ZKTeco’s front-end devices currently used for shipping basically supports this protocol. The ZKTeco-P protocol is the protocol used by PTZ domes.ONVIF protocol is the joint ownership protocol for access to third-party devices that support this protocol.

Select the protocols as needed, it is to click on “Search” to search for online devices in the LAN. Take ZKTeco protocol as an example:

©Note: devices displayed in gray are those devices that have been added to the device list; click on “IP address” to sort them according to the IP address of the devices.

Select the device to be added, click on the “Select” button, as shown below:

Device Name: define by the user as needed.

User Name: user name of the device.

Password: password of the device.

Enter correct user name and password to add the corresponding device into the device list. Also, the front end using the ZKTeco protocol does not require a password. (©Note: for safety consideration,

Devices using the ONVIF protocol,the password can’t be retrieved and the password of the device needs to be manually filled in; no password filled in or wrong password will lead to add log-in failure.) Fast match function means when there are multiple devices with the same username and password, choose fast match, then you just need to input the username and password for one time.

After adding the equipment, the interface is as shown below:

We can edit and delete devices, call remote configuration and modify channel names here. The remote configuration is only supported by ZKTeco protocol; calling the remote configuration can view or modify related parameters of the front-end device. Modifying the channel name is only supported by ZKTeco protocol; It is quick and convenient to modify channel name of the front-end device .

Switch to decoder interface. This interface, which is similar to that to add a device, displays all

decoders added to the server at present and the online and offline status of the decoders. The added

decoders can be edited and deleted; in case of adding a new decode, click on the

Add Decoder

button in the top right corner:

1. Channel Group

Switch to the page of “Group” in the device management module, as shown in the figure below:

Click on “+” button to add group.

Fill in the group name, click on “Save” to create the group; when it is succeeded, select the device

channel on the left, then select a group on the right, click on the

Fill in the name of a layout, select the number of split screens as needed. Types of split screen include standard split and wide-screen split, among which, pictures under ordinary split screen and wide-screen are displayed in 16:9 and 1:1, respectively; select the duration of stay from Dwell option. and then drag the channel for layout. Take 6 split screens as an example:

to set a storage server, as

Right-click on the blank area of the RecPlan on the left side, then add a channel to the storage server;

when it is done, select the channel to set the RecPlan.

RecPlan has a default whole-day template and a working day template. In case of the need of other RecPlan templates, click on “User Template” to add those you need; start to record as the RecPlan set. Yellow arrow in the figure shows the recording status of the channel. Red means the channel is working; blue means the otherwise.

There are four kinds of recording modes, including timing & alarm recording, timing recording, alarm recording and stop recording, among which, timing & alarm recording refers to the timing plus alarm recording, i.e. timing recording runs if no alarm recording has been triggered, while alarm recording runs as an alarm has been triggered; timing recording refers to only time stamps you set; alarm recording means record starts when an alarm is triggered; and stop recording means do not record at all.

Pre-record and time delay function are only available in two modes: timing & alarm recording and alarm recording, particularly the alarm recording; copy to channel refers to copy the RecPlan of certain channel to other channel that already added to the storage server; advanced setting can set up different partitions of disk for recording while some others do not; the default setting is that other disks can be used for recording besides the system disk. Click on “Save” to make the settings effective as the configuration completed.

In case the channel added to the storage server shall be modified, right-click on the channel added to add a channel, delete single channel and delete all channels; click on “Save” when the configuration completed and recording starts.

1. Decoding Group

Switch to the “Dec Group” interface in the device management module, as shown below:

The operation configuration method of this group is similar to the preview group mentioned above, except that this group is used for intra-group patrol on the decoder. For details, please refer to the introduction of the decoding management module in the following section.

2. Preview

Click “Preview” on the main interface to enter the preview module:

As shown in the figure, the device list is on the left side, displaying all devices added currently and the online and offline status of device. PTZ control interface and video parameter control interface are on the right side. Below the video parameter control interface is the split screen switch button, with which, user may manually switch the number of split screens according to the actual demand. Split screen modes include standard split and wide-screen split, corresponding to different window scales.

The differences between them have been elaborated in the layout module, thus no further introduction now. Besides the regular kinds of split screens, there are several special-shaped splits for customers to select corresponding numbers as needed.

Double-click on the device list on the left side or drag the channel to the window opens the preview window of the device channel. Opened channels video will play on the corresponding panels.

1. Preview Window Toolbar

On Preview panels, there is a row of shortcuts above the preview window as indicated in the figure:

represents the channel intercom switch; click on it to enable or disable intercom of PC and

1. Preview Function Button

There is a toolbar

on the lower right side of the preview interface, among which:

represents the capture button; select a preview window, then click on this button to take a

snapshot of the display;

represents the full-screen button, click on it to switch between the selected window and the

full-screen mode;

represents the on/off button for UTC function; click to enable the UTC function. Please note

that this feature requires a front-end equipment to operate;

represents the on/off button for 3D positioning; click to enable the 3D positioning function.

Please note that this feature requires a front-end equipment and 18H protocol to operate;

to close all preview windows opened at present.

B^^B^^^B^^^^Hcheck boxes are for Intelligent detection, intelligent detection supported
by front-end devices includes NVR and IPC. When it is used, the setup intelligent rule will be

displayed in the preview screen. If a target triggers the intelligent alarm, the target triggering the

alarm will be displayed in the preview screen.

1. Device Grouping Patrol

To add two or more groups. For details, please see ”Group“ for specific operation under the section

Device Management”. When a group is created, you may switch to the group page on the preview

interface, as shown in the figure below:

Right-click on the selected group to operate “Start Patrol” and “Stop Patrol” functions. Time intervals between patrols can be set up in the local configuration module, which will be illustrated below. The default interval is 30 seconds.

1. Device Layout Patrol

To add two or more layouts. For details, please refer to the paragraph “Layout” under the section “Device Management”. When a layout is created, you may switch to the layout page on the preview interface, as shown in the figure below:

Right-click on the selected layout to open the preview of this layout with one key. Select “Start Patrol” to start the patrol function among several layouts. The interval between patrols can be set up when the layout is set up. Click on “Stop all” to stops the patrol function or close the current preview.

2. PTZ Control

Users may adjust rotation of the camera in 8 directions, including up, down, left, right, upper left,

lower left, upper right and lower right. “Zoom” means that users may zoom in or out and adjust the

visual angle; “Focus” helps adjust the focal length of the camera to ensure the clearness of the

picture; the enlargement and narrowing of the aperture ensures the brightness and depth of field of

the picture; the setting of the PTZ control speed can adjust the rotation speed of the speed dome

camera. Click on “AUTO”, the speed dome camera automatically starts scanning. Please see the

following figure:

• 1. Picture Parameters

As the preview opened, parameters of the pictures can be adjusted; the adjustment here will not affect the front-end parameters of IPC but the display effect of the picture in the client-end. Please

Users may adjust the relevant parameters, namely brightness and contrast, as needed.

• 1. Preview Digital Zoom

As the preview interface opened, select a corresponding window and then scroll the mouse wheel to adjust digital zoom-in and zoom-out of the current picture.

• 1. Preview Multi-screen Display

You may access multiple modules in the preview module. Each of them is independent. If the user’s monitor supports multi-screen mode output, you may use the multi-screen display feature. Considering the actual situation, the maximum preview module to be opened can be restricted to 5. For instance, when you have opened two preview modules, you may drag one of them out with the same operations as dragging the module to another monitoring screen, as shown below:

The monitoring screen on the left is the primary screen; while that on the right is the complementary screen. The operations of preview between two screens doesn’t influence each other; closing the complementary screen will not affect the primary screen, however, the complementary screen will be closed if the primary screen is closed.

Users may select the number of preview screens to be opened as needed. For instance, one screen can be selected to open Cruise and display independently in one monitor, meanwhile, another screen can carry out the operations of temporary preview, monitoring and intercom.

• 1. Video Search

Select a device channel where the video to be played from the device tree on the left. Please note that only videos in the same device or same storage server can be played simultaneously, and at most 9 channels can be selected each time. Select the storage path of the video on the left, select the stream type of the video to be played in the column of “stream type”, and select the date on the calendar, click on “video search”, then the system will starts to search for the relevant video(s) and display the search results on the search result panel.

Video path includes “device”, “local” and “storage”, among which, the device video refers to the video stored in the hard disk or the SD card of the front-end device, local video refers to the video stored in the PC of the client server and the storage video refers to the video stores in the storage server. The stream type includes main stream and sub stream. When a customer opens dual stream in the course of recording, relevant videos can be searched for as needed. The search result will be shown as below:

During playback in several channels, select certain windows, double left-click to switch the window into full screen; place the mouse on certain window, scroll the mouse wheel to operate digital enlargement of this window.

• 1. Video File Download

Click on the

button on the interface to enter the download interface of the video file, as shown

below:

Select the video location(including device videos and storage server videos), channel, range of recording time file save path in proper order, click on the “Start” button to start downloading. When the progress reaches 100%, download is completed.

Fill in the name, select a picture, click on “OK” to add a map, then several maps is added; meanwhile, sub-map can be added under the map has been added, as shown in figure:

The map opened will be indicated in yellow for differentiation:

3. Add child map: add a child map under the current map list. You may add several or multi-level

• 1. Map Deployment

Drag the device channel or alarm input from the lower-left to the map, then the deployment will be completed:

©Note: as the channel has been dragged to the map, the position shall be adjusted by dragging it again; right-click on the deployed channel to select or delete an icon (bullet/ dome/ PTZ). Place the cursor on the map, scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in/out the map. The channel deployed to the map shall not be dragged repeatedly. Place the mouse on the deployed channel to view the channel information.

Click on the “Map” button on the main interface to enter the map management module as shown

Double-click on the map to view the map configured and deployed channel. The relevant configuration and modification cannot be executed on the map. Right-click on the channel deployed on the map to allow preview and playback of the corresponding channel. Users, in the actual applications, may swiftly call the preview and playback of the corresponding channel according to the map, which makes the operation clearer and easier. When an alarm is triggered and the associated channel is deployed on the map, the channel icon on the map will turn into red.

1. Decoder Configuration

Click on the “Decoder configuration” button on the main interface to enter the decoder configuration module:

The module shows the TV wall scheme currently set and the enabled status of the scheme. In terms of the existing TV wall scheme, you may operate “modify”, “delete” and “disable/enable”. Click on “Add TV wall” button in the top right corner to add new TV wall schemes, as shown in the figure below:

1. Layout Setting

Set a TV wall layout, fill in the relevant information here:

1. Matrix layout setting: user cab set the matrix layout as actually needed, maximally support 8×8 layout; when a layout is selected, click on “Set” to make the changes effective.
2. Fill in the name of TV wall scheme; users may customize the name of the TV wall scheme as needed (©Note: the name will not be modified as defined).
3. TV wall scheme description: users may describe the scheme for differentiation, optional.
4. TV wall splice: users may set the TV wall as splice mode or non-splice mode.

As completed, click on “Next step”.

After finishing the settings, the saved TV wall will be seen on the decoder configuration interface and can be edited, deleted and disabled/enabled.

If the configuration shall be enabled as the setting completed, select “Enable this configuration immediately”, then click on the “Finish” button below. If you do not want to enable the setting, directly click on “Finish” to exit. As the setting is completed, this configuration scheme will be displayed in the decoder configuration list.

Firstly, drop-down the check box in the signed place of the figure to select TV wall. All rules set and enabled will be shown in this box. Select a scheme.

• 1. Decoding Mode Selection

When you have selected a scheme, please set the decoding mode of the decoder to ensure normal decoding. The decoding mode is relevant to the decoder and varies according to different decoders, and the decoding mode is the expression of the decoding capability of the decoder. Click on

the button in the figure, as shown below:

Decoding mode represents the current decoding capability of the decoder, which is listed in the figure and supports 3 decoding modes, i.e. 16 channels 720 x576, 9 channels 1280 x960 and 4 channels 2048 x1536. Please note that the subsequent number represents the maximum resolution of decoding, for example, under the 9-channel mode, the maximum resolution of decoding is 1280×960; the decoding mode of different decoders varies as well. It shall be normally decoded and displayed as the resolution of the front-end IPC has been guaranteed not to exceed the resolution restriction of the current decoder mode.

• 1. Decoding on the wall

When you have selected a scheme, select the channel for decoding on the wall in the device list on

the left, then drag the relevant decoder to the corresponding decoding screen to complete decoding

on the wall. Use the

button to change the stream type of decoding on the wall before

dragging. Select main stream or sub-stream on the wall.

If the channel dragged to the channel of the decoding screen shall be changed to other channels, the other channels shall be directly dragged to the corresponding window.

1) İDİ is used to open the decoding module preview window. Click on it to access a preview

window on the current page, which is convenient for customers to view pictures on the wall.

2) H is used to delete the current channel. Click on it to delete the decoding channel of the

current split screen.

7.2.1 Decoding group Patrol

The decoding management group has been mentioned in the device management module discussed above. After setting up the decoding group, users may drag the group to the TV wall in the

decoding group module, as follows:

The group dragged to the TV wall output can automatically open the patrol within group. The patrol interval can be set at the time of configuring the decoding group. The default value is 2 seconds.

• • 1. Decoding Pre-plan Patrol

Click on the “ADD” button to add a pre-plan:

Set a “Plan Name” and “Stay Time” for the pre-plan patrol. The default value of “Stay Time” is 15 seconds; the minimum value is 10 seconds. After completion of settings, please click on “OK” to enter the pre-plan edit mode:

Configure the Pre-plan. Select the decoder split screen, decoding stream type and channel to edit the pre-plan settings. When you have completed settings, please click on “Save Pre-plan” to complete the editing.

operation, which is much convenient for users. Users may delete the saved pre-plans and perform other operations. If you have set several pre-plans, click “Start Pre-plan Patrol” to allow the decoder to start cruise according to the configured pre-plan.

• 1. Decoding rolling

In case of Decoding rolling to be fulfilled in certain decoder, the decoder must be selected for Cruise during TV wall scheme setting (please see section 6.2), and the roll group has been determined in the course of scheme setting.

As the roll group and roll screen has been assured to be set in the scheme, on the button below in the interface to start/pause the Cruise , click the o button in the process of roll to stop roll (note: roll control button is only effective to roll decoder but general decoder).

• 1. Introduction of Buttons on Preview Operation Interface

On the preview operation interface, there is a row of function buttons

channel. Operation here is similar to that of video playback. All playback channels must be in the

same device, and a maximum of 9 channels of playbacks simultaneously. When the video search is

completed, click on the

button or double-click on timeline to start playing. Double-click to

relocate time stamp during playing, as shown in the figure:

Click on the “Alarm configuration” button on the main interface to access the alarm configuration interface. “Alarm configuration” is an alarm rule setting module. If a user wants to fulfill alarm linkage in the client-end, the alarm linkage rule must be set in advance.

• 1. Add Linkage Rule

To add an alarm linkage rule, please click on “Add” at the upper left corner, as shown below:

1. Rule name: alarm linkage rule name is user-defined.
2. Alarm type: currently support 8 types of alarm, including Alarm in, Motion detection, Tampering, Video Loss, Area alarm, Object alarm, Cross line alarm and Counting alarm. Among which, the last four kinds are specialized to the device about intelligent detection. Regarding the definitions of the 8 types of alarm, please see NVR’s specifications.
3. Alarm source: Click on the check box to add all channels of all devices to VMS which can currently be selected.
4. Linkage action: includes capture, PTZ, Map, Record, pop Image and TV wall, which are defined respectively as below.

Capture: captures the picture of the linkage channel.

PTZ: controls the linkage channel. You may choose to call certain presets, call certain cruises or certain tracks. Only front devices which support PTZ control can be linked to PTZ.

Map: displays an alarm on map interface. For the linkage of map alarm, the channel to be linked shall be deployed on the map. When an alarm is triggered, the icon of the channel will be indicated in red on the map.

Record: when an alarm is triggered, the channel linked starts recording at local storage server, where you shall configure the RecPlan in advance. Records can be viewed by searching in the playback module.

Pop image: when an alarm is triggered, the preview window will pop up from the main interface displaying the real-time preview of the linked channel.

TV Wall: select a channel and TV Wall for wall-run. When an alarm is triggered, the real-time preview picture of this channel will be uploaded to the TV Wall.

Note: If the linkage action has been set as map, video, popup image and TV Wall, the front-end devices shall be selected. It shall be “auto-end” or “Schedule end”; “auto end” means that there is no linkage action upon the completion of alarm, while “timing end” means that the linkage action will end at the set time, which ranges from 1 second to 36,000 seconds.

1. Action param: the linkage action set can be displayed in this column.
2. Remarks: indicates relevant information of this linkage rule. It can be customized and omitted.

Log management interface displays all important operation records of a user. Select a log type and time range to search, click on “Retrieve” to start searching. Log types include login/logout, device management, start/stop rec, linkage management and remote configuration.

2. Device management: management of records about user registration, modification and deletion of devices.
3. Start/stop recording: start/stop local video record.
4. Linkage management: management about recordsfromf user operations, such as addition, modification and deletion of a linkage rule.
5. Remote configuration: records of user operations in terms of remote configuration, and modification of parameters for front-end devices.

The log will record the operation time, the user performed such operations, IP address where the operation is conducted, types of operations and target address of relevant important operations in details, which help the administrator to find out any issues.

1. User Management

Click on the “User management” button on the main interface to enter the user management interface:

User admin listed in the user management interface has the rights to set privilege for sub-users and users. There is a default super user whose name is “admin”, which can not be deleted and has all privileges. Click on “Modify” to change the password of the super user.

• 1. Add Sub-user

Click on “Add user” at the left-upper corner to add a new user:

The default user type is “Guest”, which means an ordinary user, not an administrative user. The user

type cannot be modified. Fill in the user name, password, type the password again, then click on “OK’ to add a new user. The password and that to input at the field “Confirm password” shall be the same.

• 1. Sub-user Access Distribution

To assign sub-users access rights, click on the “Right” button indicated in the figure to grant the users relevant access privileges:

Types of access include common access, map access and decoder access.

Common access: includes preview, playback, video, intercom and PTZ control; depends on channels. The administrator may distribute relevant channels to the corresponding sub-users. The number corresponding to PTZ represents the control priority of PTZ. You may double-click to edit, and select a value from 0 to 10, among which, 0 indicates that there will be no PTZ control access, and 1-10 indicates the priority of PTZ control access. The larger the number, the higher the authority, i.e. 10

represents the top priority of PTZ control while 1 represents the lowest priority.

Channels without preview access distributed will be hidden if a sub-user logs in. Similarly, channels without relevant access rights cannot offer users access to playback, video and intercom. users can’t apply the corresponding functions. For instance, there are only 3 channels have been distributed to test sub-user, as shown in the figure:

Login with sub-user can only view three channels, as shown in the figure below:

This is the fifth Installation wizard Screen, if you see this screen it means your CP PLUS KVMS Pro software Successfully installed your Computer

8.1 : Release Note : Checked this box for open release note after pressing the finish button
8.2 : Run KVMS Pro : Checked this box for open KVMS Pro after pressing the finish button.
8.3 : Press the finish button for exit from KVMS Pro Wizard and it will open the release note or run the KVMS Pro application if the checkbox is selected.

9 Step # KVMS Pro Application Registration Process : Password Setting

If you checked option 8.2 in the previous step then the application will automatically open, if not then Go to Desktop or Strat Programme and Select KVMS Pro application by clicking the shortcut. When the application runs for the first time then it will ask for the password of the master user : admin. It will be your master administrative password, so remember it as well as keep it strong too.

9.1 : Password : Enter Strong Password for user : admin
9.2 : Confirm Password : retype same as above for confirmation.
9.3 : Auto Login after Registration : if you checked this box then after finishing this registration process you will be logind in to the app, if not then you will get a Login box and ask for username and password for entering the app. Checking this box will save your time.
9.4 : Press Next for further registration process.

10 Step # KVMS Pro Application Registration Process : Password Protection

Answer the security questions, it will help you to retrieve password in case you forget.

10.1 : Question 1 : Select your desired question and type your answer
10.2 : Question 2 : Select your desired question and type your answer
10.3 : Question 3 : Select your desired question and type your answer
10.4 : Press Finish button for complete KVMS Pro software registration process.

After the registration process is completed, the application will open and ready to use.

In order to access network devices from a computer, they both have to be connected on the same network. But how do you check that the settings are correct, and if they are not, how do we fix that? This article is based off of the assumption that the computer and the device are connected to the same router/network switch.

Basic Explanation of the Network

Before we begin the steps on how to configure our network, we need to understand why we are doing it. Each device within a network has its own IP address – we will use 192.168.1.13 as an example – and its structure is like this:

The host ID will be different because that is what differentiates each device from one another. Within a network, the network prefix will be the same and so should the subnet ID, but there will be sometimes where it is different on a device. If the network prefixes and subnet IDs are the same for the devices, then that means they can all reach and communicate with each other. If either one of the two are different, then that means they are not connected and they cannot establish a connection with each other.

The purpose of this article is to make sure that the network prefix and the subnet ID are the same for the computer and your device so that you can create a connection and reach the device.

Checking the Network of the Computer and Your Device

The easiest and fastest way to check the network of your computer is to open up the command prompt. Open the Windows menu and type in “cmd” for command prompt.

Once the window is open, type in “ipconfig” and hit Enter. This will pull up the basic network information of your computer. Make note of the IPv4 address and the default gateway. Now that you have found the IP of the computer, please find the IP of your device – the method to obtaining the IP address might be different for each device.

As mentioned above, if the network prefix and the subnet ID are the same for both the computer and your device, then they will be able to communicate with each other. If they are different, then please follow the steps as below:

Changing the Network of Either the Computer or Your Device

The most simple solution to allow both devices to be on the same subnet is to edit the IP address of your device. Usually, you just need to disable DHCP and enable a static IP address. But this is not always possible depending on the set up. NOTE: The computer must be connected with Ethernet in order for this configuration to work. It will not work through Wi-Fi.

In order to change the network of your computer, you will need to go to the Network and Sharing Center. 

On Windows 10 operating systems, it can be reached by either the Control Panel or from the Taskbar. In the Sharing Center you will be able to see all Connections the computer has. Click on the correct Ethernet connection.

After clicking on the Ethernet connection the Ethernet Status window will pop up. Click on Properties → double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). By default, your computer will be set to “Obtain an IP address automatically”, but we will want to change it to Use the following IP address. Remember in the steps above that we found out the IPv4 address of the computer through the command prompt. This is where it will come in handy again. When you select Use the following IP address the boxes below will become active. The information will be as follows:

• IP address: IPv4 address of the computer
• Subnet mask: if you hit Tab after inputting the IP address, the subnet mask should automatically be filled in
• Default gateway: this information will be found from the command prompt as well

Once all of that information is filled out, click on Advanced in the bottom-right corner of the window, and it will open up the Advanced TCP/IP Settings where you will Add a new TCP/IP address. Please make sure the new TCP/IP address will match the subnet as the device you are trying to access, or else it will still not connect. NOTE: Please do not use the same IP address as the device. The Network Prefix and Subnet ID should be the same, but the Host ID should be different.

Adding the Subnet Mask can be easily done by hitting Tab after inputting the IP address because the fields will automatically be filled afterwards. Click Add after entering the correct information, and then just keep clicking okay until you are back at the Ethernet Status window. Then close the window.

You can check if the configuration was done properly by opening the command prompt and pinging the device’s IP address. You can do this with the prompt: ping IP address. For example: We are using the IP address 192.168.0.10 for the device. Enter the command prompt and type ping 192.168.0.10. If you receive a response, that means the configuration was done correctly, and you may now access your device.

Why can my device not be accessed through the IP address?

Sometimes you might try to log into your device through the IP address on a computer but it gives you an error (ie. “Cannot be reached”, “Cannot be found”). This can mean a few things:

• the device is not connected to the network
• the computer is not connected to the network
• the device and network are not connected to the same network as each other
• need to add http:// to the beginning of the URL (example: http://192.168.0.100)

If you are getting that error you can check to make sure all physical network connections are secure (network cables). Also check to make sure that the device and computer are in the same network because if they are not then the two will not be able to communicate with each other.

Why can’t I see my cameras on Google Chrome/Firefox or other web browsers?

AVSS brings the Zosi Smart App to your desktop offering similar functionality and accessibility. This article will teach you how to log in to AVSS, as well as teach you how to view your cameras.

1. Once you have installed AVSS (download AVSS PC Client  / AVSS Mac Client ) to the directory of your choice, open the application by double clicking on the icon on your desktop.

2. When AVSS opens, enter your Zosi account name and password. These will be the same credentials you use to access the Zosi Smart App for iOS and Android.

If you don’t have a Zosi Account, select the register option and complete the fields.

It’s strongly recommended that you set up your account using the Zosi Smart app, as you will be able to utilize the QR code found in the DVR’s Information > System screen. CLICK HERE for Instructions on how to connect your Zosi Smart app to your DVR.

3. Once you’re logged in, select the drop-down icon to the right of the “Device List” option. This will reveal the Device List.

4. Once your Device List is revealed, select the drop-down icons to the left of the device option to reveal your cameras.

The blue square highlighting 1/4th of the quadrant represents the area that you will assign your channels to. From the Device List, double-click on the channel you wish you assign to the quadrant.

5. Once you double click your selected channel, it will begin playing in the assigned quadrant. It may take several seconds to load the stream, and depending on your internet connection, may take longer with each stream you view simultaneously.

Select the next quadrant by clicking on the black box. This will highlight the quadrant in a red box. Continue assigning your channels to the quadrants as desired.

If you wish to view more than 4 cameras at once, select a separate layout by clicking one of layout icons located below the videos.

If you want to add the device on your AVSS client, please select “Add Device” to add the device.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Adding your DVR / NVR using Device ID

Your DVR / NVR can be manually added to the FLIR Cloud Client software by entering the device ID. FLIR Cloud Client software is available for download on PC / Mac. Click here for more information on locating software downloads.

Prerequisite:

• The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC / Mac. The instructions below are shown using a Windows 10 operating system.

To manually add the DVR / NVR using a device ID:

1. Launch FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer.
2. Enter your login information. Refer to your user manual for your default Username and Password if needed.
3. Click Login to open the Home window.
4. Click the Devices icon () to open the Devices tab.
5. Click Manual Add on the bottom-left corner to open the Manual Add window.
6. In the Manual Add window, enter the following:
   • Device Name: Enter the Device Name of your choice to identify the DVR / NVR.
   • Device ID: Enter the device ID or scan the QR code located on the top of the DVR / NVR.
   • Client Port: Enter the Client Port value (default: 35000).
   • User Name: Enter the DVR / NVR User Name. Refer to your user manual for your default Username if needed.
   • Password: Enter the DVR / NVR Password. Refer to your user manual for your default Password if needed.
7. Click Add to connect your DVR / NVR. The connection may take a few minutes.
8. Click Home, and then double-click Default Group to load your connected cameras.

If you are not able to connect to your DVR / NVR using the device ID on the same network, you may be experiencing a NAT Loopback issue. Routers recognize and connect to DVR / NVR via IP address. To connect your system from the same network, use the IP address of the DVR / NVR. Click here for details on using the IP address to manually connect your DVR / NVR.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Adding your DVR / NVR using IP address

Your LHV / LNR Series DVR / NVR system can be manually added to the FLIR Cloud Client software by entering the system IP address.

Prerequisites:

• Download and install the FLIR Cloud Client software
• Ensure you have the IP address of your LHV / LNR Series DVR / NVR system.
• The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC / Mac. The instructions below are shown using a Windows 10 operating system.

To manually add the LHV / LNR Series DVR / NVR using an IP address:

1. Launch FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer to open the Login window.
2. Enter your login information. Refer to your user manual for your default Username and Password.
3. Click Login to open the Home window.
4. Click the Devices icon () to open the Devices tab.
5. Click Manual Add on the bottom-left corner to open the Manual Add window.
6. In the Manual Add window, enter the following information:
   • Device Name: Enter the Device Name of your choice to identify the DVR / NVR.
   • IP/Domain Name: Ensure the IP/Domain checkbox is checked to enable connection using the IP address. Enter the IP address of the DVR / NVR.

7. Click Add to connect the DVR / NVR. The connection may take a few minutes.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Backing up recorded video to a USB flash drive

You can back up selected recorded video files for storage on a USB flash drive (not included) during playback, or by searching for recorded video files. Ensure you have enough space on your USB flash drive to save the file.

The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC / Mac.

To search for and back up recorded video using FLIR Cloud Client software:

1. Insert USB flash drive into the DVR / NVR.
2. Right-click on the Live View to access the Quick Menu and select Main Menu.
3. Log in with your login information. Refer to your user manual for your default Username and Password.
4. Click the Backup icon ().
5. Configure search options using the parameters below to locate the files being stored on the USB drive.
   • Device Name: Select the USB flash drive you inserted.
   • Type: Select the recording type you are searching for (All, Normal, Motion, Alarm, or Alarm and Motion / A+M).
   • Start Time / End Time: Set the start and end times for the search.
   • Record CH: Select the channel the recording was made on or select All to include all channels in the search.
   • File Format: Select the file format you want to save the recording as, .dav for compatibility with Lorex by FLIR video player software, .asf for compatibility with VLC Media Player.

REMINDER: Lorex by FLIR video player software is available for download online. Click here for more information on locating software downloads.

1. Click Add. A list of files that match your search criteria will populate.
2. If the files you would like to backup are present, select the files and click Backup.
3. If the files you would like to backup are not included in the search results, reconfigure your search parameters and search again.

Wait for the backup to complete before removing the USB flash drive.

Video clip backup allows you to select a duration of video during Playback mode and save it to a USB device (not included).

To save a file using video clip backup:

1. Insert USB flash drive into the DVR / NVR and begin playing back video.
2. Click the Video clip icon () to mark the beginning of the video clip. Click the Video clip icon () again to mark the end.
3. Click Save () to open the Backup Menu.
4. Configure the following:
   1. Select the USB device you want to save to.
   2. Select the files you would like to backup.
   3. Click Backup > Start.

Wait for backup to complete before removing the USB flash drive.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Creating a new user

FLIR Cloud Client software creates a default administrator account when the software is initially installed. To ensure your administrative access remains protected, it is recommended to create a new user account should another person require access to the system.

IMPORTANT: We recommend that you test the user accounts that you create by logging into them and testing their permissions. This allows you to check that the account is set up with the correct permissions. It is not recommended to share your administrator credentials with another person.

Prerequisite:

The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC / Mac.

To create a new user account:

1. Launch the FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer.
2. Click the Account tab () on the home page.
3. Click Add to open the Add User window.
4. Enter the new User Name and Password.
5. Select the Role for the user account.
6. Select the User Rights permissions for the user account.
7. Click Save to save your settings.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Downloading recorded video on PC / Mac

FLIR Cloud Client software allows you to download recorded video onto your PC / Mac.

Prerequisite:

• Download and install FLIR Cloud Client software on your PC / Mac. Click here for more information on locating software downloads.
• The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC / Mac.

To download recorded video:

1. Launch the FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer.
2. On the Home window, click the PLAYBACK icon. () to open the PLAYBACK tab.
3. On the right-side under the Device tab, select the Device Name and cameras that you would like to play back from.
4. On the bottom-right under View, in the From drop-down and To drop-down, select a date range.
5. Click Search to view recorded video for the selected date range.
6. Click the Play icon () to start viewing your recorded video.
7. Click a specific time on your timeline to select a starting time, then click the Time Clip icon (). A timeline market indicates a start time for your playback download.
8. Click a specific time on your timeline to select an end time and click the Time Clip icon () to open the Export Setup window.
9. Click Browse to select the where you want to save your recorded video.
10. Select the Export Format for your recorded video. The available options for exporting video are:
    • .asf
    • .avi
    • .mp4
    • .dav

LIMITATION: Mac operating systems only support downloading recorded videos to .dav format.

1. Click OK to open an Information window, then click OK again.
2. Click the Export icon () on the bottom-right to open the Export window and view your status. Once the video is completed, you can find the video file in your selected folder.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: FLIR PC-NVR installation and setup

FLIR PC-NVR is software bundled with the FLIR Cloud Client software download. It is a completely separate software, and one does not require the other to function.

FLIR PC-NVR turns the computer into an NVR and will use your hard disk drive (HDD) on your PC to store recorded video.

IMPORTANT: If you install PC-NVR and want to remove it afterwards, you must uninstall FLIR Cloud Client software entirely and re-install it with the PC-NVR option not selected. Uninstalling FLIR Cloud Client will require the administrator password. If you do not have this password, you must contact technical support for assistance in recovering your password.

The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC.

REMINDER: FLIR PC-NVR can be installed while installing FLIR Cloud Client. However, if it is not initially installed, FLIR Cloud will need to be uninstalled and re-installed to install FLIR PC-NVR at a later date.

Prerequisites:

• Ensure FLIR Cloud Client software and FLIR PC-NVR are downloaded on your PC.
• Record the device ID and IP address of the camera or DVR / NVR system you want to add to PC-NVR.
  • Accessing system information on your ECO Series DVR
  • Accessing system information on your LHV / LNR Series DVR / NVR
• Ensure your PC is connected to the same network as your DVR / NVR system.
• Manually add your camera or DVR / NVR system to FLIR Cloud Client software

To add a channel from the DVR / NVR in FLIR PC-NVR:

1. Launch FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer, then click PC-NVR.
2. Click the Plus icon () to open the Add Channel window.
3. Enter the device ID or IP address of the system you want to add.
4. Select the channel you want to add using the checkbox, then click Import.

Once you have added the channel, you can configure your hard disk drive (HDD) settings for your PC.

To configure your HDD settings:

• Click PC-NVR > Disk Management, then configure the following:
  • When disk is full: Select Stop Recording or Overwrite.

CAUTION: Overwrite will save recorded video over the oldest saved files when your hard drive is full.

• • Allocate: Enter hard drive space you would like FLIR PC-NVR to use.

TIP: FLIR PC-NVR is compatible with an external USB HDD.

You can set a recording schedule for each connected camera in FLIR PC-NVR.

To set a recording schedule for a camera:

1. Click Record Plan.
2. Select the channel you want to set a recording schedule for.
3. Select Continuous, Motion, or Alarm, then click and drag in the timeline of each day to customize the recording schedule.
   • Continuous: Your camera will record continuously.
   • Motion: Your camera will record when it detects motion.
   • Alarm: Your camera will alert you when it detects motion.

TIP: Setting a recording schedule in FLIR PC-NVR does not affect the recording schedule set on your DVR / NVR system.

Your PC-NVR will behave as a virtual NVR system and save your recorded video to your PC. FLIR PC-NVR shows in the Device list and behaves like any other DVR / NVR system in the FLIR Cloud Client software.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Forgotten password

If you are unable to log in to your FLIR Cloud Client software due to a forgotten password, contact Technical Support for a password reset. For security, passwords cannot be reset using the online support system.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Missing Next / Cancel buttons during installation

If you are installing FLIR Cloud Client software and you cannot locate and click Next / Cancel to complete / cancel the installation, the DPI resolution on your monitor may not be optimized for the software. This can be corrected by changing your screen resolution.

Prerequisite:

• The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC / Mac. Instructions below are based on a Windows 7 operating system.

To change your screen resolution:

1. Right-click on your desktop.
2. Click Personalize.
3. On the bottom-left of the Personalize window, click Display.
4. To change the size of text and windows on your screen, select the Smaller – 100% (default) option.
5. Click Apply.

Once you have completed these steps, you can restart your computer, or log off and then log on again. Launch the FLIR Cloud Client software installation wizard. After installation, you can change the monitor resolution again to your preferences in the Display window.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Modifying administrator username and password

When you first install your FLIR Cloud Client software, the username and password are set to defaults. Refer to your user manual for the default user name and password for your system. Click here for downloads and documentation for your product. Upon setup using the default user name and password, you will have full access to all of the features of FLIR Cloud Client and your connected DVR / NVR systems as the Administrator. It is recommended that you change the administrator user name and password for security purposes.

Prerequisite:

The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC / Mac.

To change your administrator password:

1. Launch the FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer. If prompted, enter your user name and password.
2. Click the Account tab () on the home page.
3. Select the user from the list that you want to change, then click the Pencil icon () to open the Modify User window.
4. Enter your new password and confirm.
5. Click Save. A prompt confirms that your user information has been successfully modified.

IMPORTANT: If you are unable to log in to your FLIR Cloud Client software due to a forgotten password, contact Technical Support for a password reset. For security, passwords cannot be reset using the online support system.

FLIR Cloud Client Software: Preventing software from filling up hard disk drive on PC / Mac

PC

FLIR PC-NVR bundled software is included with FLIR Cloud Client software, and is available to be installed when you install FLIR Cloud Client software. FLIR PC-NVR software turns your PC into an NVR by storing recorded video from your cameras onto your local hard disk drive (HDD). If you are using a Mac and an older version of FLIR Cloud Client software, it could be storing .dmg files in the root of the FLIR Cloud Client folder.
