Wisenet Device Manager – Forcing device manager to search a specific network connection

Wisenet Device Manager (version 2.1.x or higher) can be configured to search a specific network connection when running a network scan.

Your available networks are displayed in the lower-left-hand corner of the Wisenet Application Window (pictured below)

To Specify a network follow the below steps.

1. Highlight and right-click on the Preferred Network Connection to access the Enable Box. Left-click this box to select and enable the network where the scan will be performed

Submitting CGI Commands in Wisenet Device Manager

Summary:

Wisenet Device Manager has a built in tool called “CGI Sender”.  (Figure 1)  This tool can be used to send CGI commands to our cameras and is very useful in case a command needs to be sent to multiple cameras (or a batch of cameras) at the same time instead of going to each camera to adjust the individual setting.

Where can you obtain a list of CGI commands?

As a Hanwha Step Partner you can download the CGI manuals from the Step Partner Website.  If you do not have a login, you will need to enroll to become a member.

Step by Step Example:

The following steps will show you how to change the PTZ setting “Focus -> Lens Reset” from its default setting “1 day” to “Manual“.  This, in effect, will stop the PTZ camera from automatically resetting the focus daily.

By default, our PTZ Cameras have “Focus > Lens Reset” enabled to 1 day.

This is enabled by default to ensure that the camera focus is properly calibrated and does not deviate from its factory calibrated values.  To check the current setting, in the camera’s Web UI, navigate to

Settings -> Video and Audio -> Camera Setup -> Focus / Lens Reset  (Figure 2)

To change the preset to manual we will use the base CGI command stw-cgi/image.cgi?msubmenu and we will add the lens reset schedule =focus&action=set&LensResetSchedule=Manual

The complete string should be like this:

Open Wisenet Device Manager, highlight all the cameras that you need to send the CGI command to and select 

“CGI Sender“

How To Collect Camera Debug Logs via Wisenet Device Manager

Summary:

If you are experiencing issues with your cameras, it is helpful to supply logs to Tech Support for troubleshooting purposes.  This document explains how to gather camera debug and dying logs using Wisenet Device Manager.

Step By Step Guide:

Open Wisenet Device Manager.

Select the cameras you wish to collect logs from, they must have a status of Login OK (Figure 1)

Once selected, go to the menu bar and select System/Trouble Shooting/Debug Log (Figure 2)

Another window will open with the selected cameras listed.  There is a File Download field where you will enter the path to where you want to save the logs by selecting the three dots on the side.  (Figure 3)

Next, choose start. (Figure 4)  Duplicate the issue the unit is having.

Once the issue has been duplicated and you want to retrieve the logs, select Stop.  (Figure 5)

This will save the logs in the location you chose in Figure 3.  You will see Complete under the Status column.  (Figure 6) Once the logs have been created, please supply them to Support via your open ticket.

How do I change or set the IP and password of multiple devices using Wisenet Device Manager?

Summary:

This article will walk you through assigning IPs and passwords to multiple devices at one time via Wisenet Device Manager.

NOTE: When two or more cameras, encoders, decoders, etc., are on the same IP address,
you will not be able to register them into an NVR; you also will not be able to

How do I Configure DDNS for Wisenet Mobile?

4. If there are multiple networks on your PC, right-click on the network you want to scan and left-click Enable (Figure 2)

Wisenet Device Manager – Missing Device/Network Tree

The Wisenet Device Manager v2.00 interface has changed from the 1.xx version, and removes the tree on the left side.  This tree showed device selection/filter, bookmarks, and network card/IP address selection.

To regain this function for version 2.00, follow the instructions below.  You can also upgrade to version 2.01, as shown at the bottom and use the Advanced button.

Version 2.0.1 now has an advanced button, which toggles the tree, as shown below.  You can use the Online Updater to easily update to the latest version, or simply download the latest version from our website.

O-KAM Pro APP Download

O-KAM Pro supports Android and iPhone, you can download it from google play or app store.

Login O-KAM Pro

You need to register and login to O-KAM Pro APP to connect the camera, click Register now or email icon to register.

It is recommended to allow all permissions of the APP, otherwise you may not be able to use and connect the O-KAM Pro camera properly.

Connect O-KAM Pro Camera To Wifi

This connection mode supports O-KAM Pro wifi camera and battery camera.

1. Connect the O-KAM Pro Camera to a power source, and if it is a battery camera, press and hold the power button to start the camera.

2. Click + , then scan the QR code on the O-KAM Pro camera, the APP will automatically enter the appropriate connection mode.

If you can’t find the QR code or can’t scan the QR code, please select Wireless camera.

3. Make sure your O-KAM Pro camera is ready to connect, the camera light is flashing or you hear the prompt “Please use the app for Wi-Fi configuration”.

Note: If the light is not blinking or there is no prompt tone, please reset the camera.

Then click ‘I heard the prompt tone or see the indicator light flashing’, go to the next step.

4. Enter your wifi password, then click Next.

Please choose 2.4G wifi, some O-KAM Pro cameras only support 2.4G wifi.

5. Make sure your wifi is 2.4g and the wifi password is correct, then click Confirm. Give the displayed QR code to the camera to scan.

Place the QR code about 15-30 Inch in front of the camera to scan, and complete the scan after hearing the “beep” sound.

After the connection is successful, it will automatically jump to the next step.

After successful connection, you can test the wifi signal strength, or later in the test, please put the O-KAM Pro camera in the location with strong wifi signal.

The app will prompt you to subscribe, it is recommended to cancel, if you need cloud storage, make sure the O-KAM Pro camera can work properly before subscribing.

AP Mode Connecting O-KAM Pro Camera

If the QR code connection fails or the QR code cannot be scanned, you can try to connect the O-KAM Pro camera using AP mode.

1. Go to your mobile phone’s wifi list to connect to the hotspot wifi of the O-KAM Pro camera, return to the O-KAM Pro APP after the connection is successful, and then the app will auto add the camera.

2. Go to Settings, select Device Settings, and then click Wi-Fi network.

3. Select your wifi, then enter your wifi password, click Confirm and wait for O-KAM Pro camera to connect to your wifi.

Share O-KAM Pro Camera

Once you have connected the O-KAM Pro camera, if you want your family or friends to use the camera as well, you need to share the camera with your friends via the Share function.

1. Go to the Share screen, then send the QR code to your friend.

Connecting O-KAM Pro Camera without a router

If you want to use O-KAM Pro camera without internet or router, you can connect to the included hotspot wifi to use the camera.

This mode only supports close range use.

1. Go to your mobile phone’s wifi list to connect to the camera’s hotspot wifi, after connecting, return to O-KAM Pro, the app will auto add the camera, then you can start to use it.

Function setup – Wired O-KAM Pro Cameras

The functions of different types of O-KAM Pro cameras differ slightly, so please check your camera type.

If your camcorder needs to be connected to the power supply at all times to work, then it is a wired O-KAM Pro camcorder type, please check the function setting instructions below.

Recording Setup – Wired O-KAM Pro Cameras

O-KAM Pro camera supports cloud storage and memory card recording, cloud storage requires subscription, the following memory card recording settings.

You need to insert the memory card to record, the recording will be saved in the memory card, after inserting the memory card, the camera will sound a voice prompt.

The default is to start 24 hours recording, you can change the recording mode in TF Record Settings.

O-KAM Pro camera supports the following recording modes:

If the memory card shows abnormality, please try to format the memory card and reboot the camcorder.

View Recordings – Wired O-KAM Pro Cameras

In the live video interface, click TF Card in the lower right corner to view the video saved in the memory card.

Motion Detection Setup

Activate the Motion Detection function in the Monitoring Function, O-KAM Pro cameras support Motion Detection and Human Detection.

Motion Detection

When the camera detects an object moving, it will send an alarm notification to your mobile phone.

This mode may have a high false alarm rate, if you need to detect only suspicious people, we recommend you to choose Human Detection.

Human Detection

The camera will send alarm notifications to your mobile phone only when it detects humanoid objects.

Activity Zone Setup

Setting the detection area allows the camera to detect a specific location, reducing the chance of false alarms.

Smear the area you don’t need.

Detection schedule

Customize the schedule of Motion detection, reduce false alarms. The camera automatically monitors for you during the scheduled time.

Alarm flashing light

After the alarm flashing light is turned on, the camera will automatically flash when motion detection is triggered.

Camera Siren

When Alarm sound switch is turned on, the camera will emit alarm sound when motion detection is triggered, you can choose alarm sound or record your own sound.

Enter Notification Settings, select Camera Siren and then turn on the Alarm sound switch.

Email notification

An email will be sent to you when a motion is detected.

Click Add an email , then enter the email address you want to receive alarm notification and finish the setting.

Auto Tracking

When Person tracking is activated, the camera will Auto Track people’s movements and monitor all activities. It will automatically switch to and focus on the person when they enter the camera’s field of vision.

This feature is only supported by O-KAM Pro cameras that support PTZ.

Human frame

People are automatically framed in the live video Help you filter out motions of other objects and quickly follow the person’s movement.

Night vision setup

O-KAM Pro camera defaults to black and white night vision mode, you can change the night vision mode in Device Settings, Night Vision.

Only cameras with dual light sources support this feature.

Why is my O-KAM Pro Camera offline?

O-KAM Pro camera is offline, it means the camera can’t connect to the network properly, please follow the steps below to fix the offline problem:

Is the router working properly?
Connect your mobile phone to the router Wi-Fi, switch off the mobile data, can you access the internet normally? If it is not normal, try to restart the router.

Whether the WiF strength is full or not
Put the mobile phone to the camera installation location, detect whether the Wi-Fi signal is full? If the signal is weak, it is recommended to adjust the distance from the router to the camera.

Whether the O-KAM Pro camera is normal
If a memory card is inserted into the O-KAM Pro camera, power off the camera and remove the memory card, then check if the camera works properly.

Replace the power supply with another one.

If none of the above solves the offline problem, try resetting the camera and reconnecting it.

Step 1:​

Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your NVR in the address bar. If you are not sure what this is, use the SADP tool to find it.​

Step 2:​

Log in to the NVR using the “admin” username and password you have set on it.​

Step 3:​

Go to: Device Access > Device Configuration > PoE Settings​

If you are connecting your camera via the Plug-and-Play method, then make sure that Network Camera Plug-and-Play is enabled on the POE port you will be connecting the camera to on this page.​

For any camera with a cable run under 100m, leave the Network Cable Distance as Short Distance.​

​

If you are connecting your camera manually by IP address, disable the Network Camera Plug-and-Play option for the channel that you plan to add the camera to.​

Step 4:​

Go to: Device Access > Device > Video Device​

For any Plug-and-Play camera, just make sure that it is in its inactive default state and then connect it to the port you reserved in step 3. After 20 seconds or so, the camera Status should turn to Connecting and then Online (you may need to click on Refresh to see this).​

For Manually added cameras, if you can see the camera in the List of Online Devices section, then just tick the box for the camera and then click + Add to Device List, which will then automatically add it to one of the channels you disabled Plug-and-Play on in the last step.​

Alternatively…​

Click on +Add at the top of the page and fill out the fields as follows:​

IP Address: Enter the IP address of your camera, using the ‘Test’ button to verify there is a camera at that address. ​

Device Name: This can be anything you like, as it is the name the camera will show with on your NVR. ​

Protocol: Select the camera’s manufacturer from this list, or failing that, use the ONVIF protocol (your camera will need to have ONVIF enabled for this to work). ​

Management Port: Enter the Server port set on the camera, which you can find in the SADP tool or in Network>Basic Settings>Port in the camera’s web browser interface. If you haven’t changed this, it is usually 8000 by default. ​

User Name: “admin” or the username of any other users set up on that camera. ​

Password: The password set with that user on the camera – if this is the same as the ‘Default Activation Password‘ you have set on the NVR, then you can tick this box instead. ​

Transfer Protocol: ‘Auto’ is normally best. ​

​

When these are completed, click OK.​

Your camera should then appear in the list of devices with an assigned channel, and an Online status, meaning it has been successfully added.​

How do I reset my Hikvision device to factory settings?

In some cases, you’ll need to reset your Hikvision device to its inactive factory state. This could be if you’re passing the system on to somebody else; if you’ve forgotten your password; or simply if something has gone wrong during the configuration, meaning you need to start afresh.

There are a couple of ways of doing this, the method you’ll use depends on whether you have a password to log into the device.

Factory reset by using the device’s pushbutton:

On the majority of Hikvision’s newer camera models, there will be a pushbutton on the camera which will allow to carry out a hard reset without needing to log into it. This is most useful when you have forgotten your password, as it allows you to set a new password on the camera while avoiding much of the faff involved in doing this through the SADP tool.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT TRANSMISSION PLAN FOR MY SECURITY CAMERA?

Cellular security cameras are great for monitoring your property remotely. A notification pops on your phone, and you see somebody lurking around the construction site, the farm or the marina.

This system relies on the data plan you will pick and the number of photo alerts included. But how do you know how many alerts you will need? We listed points to consider when buying your data plan.

Photo count

First, consider how many alerts you expect the security camera to send in a month. Since the data plan works off of a monthly allotment, having a rough estimate based on the 7-day free Elite trial is a good place to start.

Location may come into play. The number of photo alerts may vary if you installed the camera in an empty yard or at a busy security gate. How many times will people or vehicles pass in front of it daily? Also, consider other elements moving in front of the camera, like animals, objects, and weather conditions.

On top of this first estimation, you must factor in your camera settings preferences in the VOSKER app.

How many alerts are you ready to miss?

The camera saves photos on the memory card when you reach the monthly photo alerts. You will no longer receive any alerts in the app until the photo count is reset in the next monthly cycle or unless you upgrade the plan. It all comes down to your tolerance of missing information.

Test it

A great way to evaluate your needs is to get a monthly Elite plan for your newly installed camera. Test the settings to fit your objectives and monitor the photo count. Once the setup is steady, and you get a good idea of the photo alerts, it is time to pick the best plan and frequency.

Remember: you can save 10% off the monthly fee by purchasing the data plan annually.

Flexible

You may use your security camera at different locations or for different purposes within a year, affecting the number of photo alerts you need. Remember, you can upgrade or downgrade a monthly data plan*. It is also possible to suspend its auto-renewal if you need a break.

WHAT CAN I DO TO INCREASE MY PHOTO QUALITY?

Understanding the different features and specifications of the VOSKER cameras can help you choose the right camera at different locations on your property that will give you optimal photo quality. If you intend to set up the camera in a place where the objects are moving fast, choose a camera with a faster trigger speed to ensure the camera activates and captures the photo before the object moves out of the frame. Cameras that have a larger motion detection range are a better choice when you want to set up the camera over larger areas.

WHY DOES THE RESOLUTION ON MY PHOTOS SEEM TO BE LOW?

The photos that your camera is sending have been compressed to facilitate the transfer. You will find the best photo quality directly on the SD card inside your camera. You can also get HD versions of your most valuable photos upon request through the VOSKER App or the VOSKER web App*. Each plan has a limit of HD photos to download per month.

HOW TO CHANGE MY CAMERA SETTINGS FROM THE VOSKER APP

To change your settings for your VOSKER camera, navigate to the “Settings” tab. Make sure to choose the correct camera from the dropdown option at the top. You will see 3 sections: Basic, Cellular Setup, and Advanced Options. You can change the settings under these sections according to your preference and select the “Apply Changes” button to save the settings.

Note: Our cameras communicate with our servers based on the frequency set in your settings. For example: If your Transfer Frequency is set to 2 times a day, this means that your camera will communicate with our servers 2 times a day.

The Optiview VMS 2018 will continue to be available to download for a limited amount of time, but will no longer be supported going forward.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF DEVICES THAT CAN BE PUT ON THE FREE VMX OR THE PAID VMX+?

The free version of the Optiview VMX will suport up to 64 cameras. If the user wants to view more than 64 cameras, they will have to purchase the Base License, and then an additional license for each channel, up to 512. See which software is right for you here!

HOW DO I UPGRADE FROM THE VMS TO THE VMX?

The VMX software is completely different from the Optiview VMS and a user can use both. The VMX Server and Client software can be downloaded here.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VMX SERVER AND THE VMX CLIENT?

The server runs all the services and acts as a connection point for several clients that will handle the management of configurations, devices and integrations of one or more IP devices supported by the Optiview VMX software.

IF I HAVE THE SERVER DOWNLOADED, HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THE CLIENT?

The client can be downloaded using the link from the server user interface labeled as “Download Client”. I also made a link for the Client software within our technical support page which Georgia can use, to make a download link within the product resource page.

CAN I DESIGNATE THE NUMBER OF CAMERA CHANNELS BEING SEEN BY THE VMX PER DVR OR NVR?

Yes. The number of cameras “actually” in use by a device (for example a 32-ch NVR) can be designated within the VMX so that it can only sees the actual number of channels. For example, If a user is using multiple 32 channel recorders but not all channels, the VMX can be set to not count every single channel and maximize the usage.

CAN I DESIGNATE THE NUMBER OF ACCESS CONTROL DOORS BEING SEEN BY THE VMX?

No. Whatever the maximum number of doors that an access control panel can handle is, that is what the VMX will see. For example, a CAS-4MC (4 door master control panel) is expandable up to 64 doors, so this will max out the VMX. No additional master control panels can be added unless the user upgrades to the paid version of the Optiview VMX.

CAN I SEE THE HUMAN TEMPERATURE DETECTION & NOTIFICATION SOLUTION ON THE VMX?

The human temperature text overlay can be seen at LIVE mode and Playback mode at the VMX.

HOW MANY USERS CAN ACCESS THE VMX AT ONE TIME?

DMSS is a mobile surveillance app with functions like video playback, remote monitoring, device initialization, push notifications, and remote configuration. Camera can’t connect to wifi

1, please confirm wifi is 2.4G or 5G, the camera only support 2.4G. And wifi password cannot exceed 12 characters.

2, if it is 4G wifi, please place the camera next to the router, then press the reset button for 6 seconds to add device again.

3, or you can connect the camera to your router with network cable, then switch to wirelessly connection.

How to using PTZ function on NVR?

1, please left click your mouse, you will see a smart menu below, click PTZ control.

2, click the arrow direction to move the camera.

If you add camera to NVR, please go to video detection to check whether your nvr support motion tracking.

3) then click preset box select 2–add, add multiple cruise points in this way. You also can select “keep time” you want, preferably in five seconds or more.

4) And then click “?” question mark into the PTZ control interface–click PTZ control option to set first position, then click store.

5) change the preset box to 2, adjust the camera lens to second position–store

6) right click anywhere –return to the PTZ setting interface–apply—ok.

If you are adding camera to your mobile phone through camera hotspot , it will generate a random password.

1, Go to app Eseecloud, click three points icon on right upper corner, click edit. Fast click 6 times on blank area,

One device is linked to one user only. The NVR system can only be controlled by one authorized account, which can share the device with others to prevent attack or hacking.

There are 2 ways to share the device with others. For the admin user, please follow the instructions to share the device:

1.Type in “Menu Icon ” and navigate to “Devices”

2. Tape on “… ” > “Share”, You can select a single channel to share or select the entire NVR system to share

3.Share the device by typing in the user name you want to share and selecting the function as needed.

• The other user needs to register a Guard Viewer APP account and provide the user name for sharing.

• After that, when this user login the APP will find the device by navigating to “Devices”.

4.Share the device by generating a QR code

• Create a sharing password and set the valid period

• Click “Generate”, your APP will generate a QR code

If you forget your current password, please follow the instructions to reset it.

1. In the system login interface, please click on “Enter Password” > “Forgot Password”

2. If you filled in your email address as a reserved email when you set up the system, you can reset the device password via the APP(Guard Viewer)

In NVR interface, tap forgot password.

1. Scan the above QR code by APP “ME–General–Forget Device Password” , and the security code will be sent to your email address.

2. If you haven’t set up an email before, or have any difficulties resetting the password, please take a screenshot of this interface(Serial No. please also make the code is as clear as you can ), and email us at love@hiseeu.com , since we need the serial number to produce a new password by using an internal tool

(1) BNC Cable connected to Camera is broken

Step: Use another BNC cable to connect the camera to have a try

(2) The port of the DVR box is broken

Step: After changing the BNC cable, and still there is no camera image, plz insert the camera into another port of the DVR to have a try

(3) Camera is broken after troubleshooting with the steps （1）-（2）

Four cameras or above are not working

Four cameras or above not working is an abnormal situation. It’s not only a camera issue, which could be related to a power supply or power splitter connected to four cameras

If the power supply or power splitter connected to four cameras is broken, which can’t provide power supply to cameras

Step:

(1）Change to another 12V 2A Power Supply to connect to four cameras to have a try. We wanna make sure if this is related to the power adapter

(2) Change another 1-4 way power splitter to connect four cameras to have a try. We wanna make sure if this is related to the power adapter

( If you do not have another power adapter/splitter, plz use the other power adapter connected to the four normal cameras)

After making sure the power supply or power splitter is doing fine, but still no camera image, which means the DVR box is having issue

4.Eight Cameras are not working

Please click the mouse to the Menu then click the “ Storage ” and then click the “ Recording Schedule ”，“ Select Camera ” then click the “ enable Schedule ” click the “ Audio Storage ” then select the color of record type and fill in the corresponding time and date.

Network Setup for NVR/DVR/IP Camera before adding to Guarding Vision

The Following network settings must be checked before adding the device to Guarding vision App.

Method 1: From NVR Local menu

Step 1: Right Click on the NVR Monitor and select “Menu”.

Step 2: Select “Configuration” from the Menu options.

Step 3: Select “Network” and check the option “Enable DHCP” Click “Apply”

Step 4: Make sure your NVR/DVR obtained an “IPV4 Address” and “Preferred DNS Server” values automatically. If not, check your network settings and make sure your device is properly connected to your network router or switch.

Step 5: Select “Platform Access” and check “Enable”.  You will be taken to the service terms window.

Step 6: Create a “Verification Code” check the “Guarding Vision service terms” click “OK”.

Step 7: Click “Apply” to apply the settings. The status will change to “Online”. The QR Code being displayed on your device “Platform Access” page can be scanned with Guarding Vision app to add the device into your App. To proceed with adding the device into the app scroll down to “Adding NVR/DVR to Guarding Vision App”.

Method 2: From the NVR/DVR/IP Camera Web page.

Step 1: Input the IP address of the NVR into the address bar and login with the credentials.

Step 2: Go to Configuration  Network  Basic Settings

How to Change Camera names on the App

• Slide the device name to the left to view the settings and share icons.

• Tap on the  Settings icon.

• Tap on “Linked Camera”

• Click on the Edit icon and input a desired name to the camera and Tap “Save” icon.

Guarding vision Setup from browser (www guardingvision com)

Step 1: Open browser (Internet explorer/Chrome) and input the address www.guardingvision.com. And click on “Register” to register for a new account.

Step 2: In the registration page, input the mandatory credentials and select “Email” for registering with email or “Country Code” for registering by a phone number.

Step 3: Once the account is created, select “Device Management” and select “Add” to add a new device.

Step 4: In the “Add Device” pop-up window, input the device serial number (Last 9 digits of the serial number found on the device sticker) and click on “Search”.

Step 5: If the platform access is enabled on the device, then you should see the device on the “Add device” window. Click on the ‘+’ icon for the device. Click on the link for Enabling “Platform Access” https://app.box.com/s/ftj2keo6pvvvkpif9ukquyp7jrvhktwx.

Step 6: Enter the verification code found on the platform access page of the device. Click “Add”.

Step 7: Click “OK”. Now the device should be added into the Guarding vision account. To view video stream, download the Guarding vision ass on your mobile phone and login with the account credentials just created.

Sharing the device:

To share the device with another Guarding vision account, click on the “Share” icon next to the device name

Select “Email” for sharing by email or select “Mobile Phone Number” to share by mobile number. Click on the check mark next to the device and click “Share”.

Initialize/Setup SD Card from Guarding Vision App

Purpose:

This document provides instructions on how to initialize a brand new SD card that is inserted into the IP Camera.

(Note: When a brand new SD Card is inserted into a IP Camera, it has to be initialized/formatted before it can start recording data)

Step 1: Open the app, Select ‘Guarding Vision’ on the bottom left and slide the device name to the left and select the icon.

Purpose:

The purpose of this document is to be able to reset an NVR with the vuarding vision account.

Initial setup for enabling Password reset from Guarding Vision

Step 1: During the initial device setup, make sure the “Reserved Email Settings” option is checked.

Platform Access for Guarding Vision Offilne Issue

Guarding Vision Offline Issue

Purpose:

This document provides steps to fix the Platform Access “Offline” status issue on your NVR/DVR.

Solution:

The most common cause for “Offline” status is when the “Preferred DNS Server” space is empty. Follow the steps below to fix this issue.

NVR Local menu

Step 1: On the monitor connected to the NVR, Right click and go to Menu  Configuration  Network  General

Step 2: Enter the “Preferred DNS server” address as 8.8.8.8

(Note: If “Enable DHCP” is checked, you can check the option “Enable DNS DHCP” which will let the NVR/DVR pullup its own Preferred DNS Server)

Step 3: Click “Apply”. The device might take a few seconds before applying the new values.

Step 4: Now go to Menu  Configuration  Network  Platform Access. The status should show “Online”. The device might take up to 60 sec before showing the new status. Click “Back” wait 60 sec and check the status again.

(Note: You can scan the QR code on your “Platform Access” page to add the device directly to your Guarding Vision App.)

Setting up the DVR/NVR

Step 1: On the DVR/NVR screen, right click Select Menu  Configuration  Network.

Step 2: Under “General” input the “Preferred DNS Server” as 8.8.8.8 as shown in the figure below.(If you have “Enable DHCP” and “Enable DNS DHCP” option on this page selected, then you do not have to perform this step)

Step 3: Select “Platform Access” and check “Enable” and create a verification code. Click “Apply”.

(Note: The QR code displayed on the platform access page can be used to add the device into the guarding vision app.)

Step 1: Tap on the “+” to add a new device. Select “Scan QR Code” to scan the QR code being displayed on the NVR monitor. Input the Verification Code that was created under “Platform Access” in the NVR.

Sharing a device on Guarding vision

Method 1: Sharing from the Primary account

On the Primary account, swipe the device name to the left to access the “Share” Icon. Tap on the Share icon. This will take you to the “Recipient” page.

In the “Recipient” page enter the email or phone number of the user you want to share the device.

When sharing, make sure the Phone number/email/username are entered as shown in the account details.

Finding Account Details:

On the bottom of the app, Tap on “More” and select “Account Management” to view the Account details like Username, Email address(if used to register) and Mobile Phone Number (If used to register).

Adding a Stand Alone IP Camera to Guarding Vision App

Step 1: Log in to the IP Camera with internet explorer and Go to Configuration  Network  Advanced Settings  Platform Access

Step 2: Check the “Enable Option” you will see a pop-up window asking to create a verification code. Enter the desired verification code and click “OK”

Step 3: You can view the verification code by clicking on the eye lid icon.

Step 4: Click “Save” and refresh the page. The status should turn from offline to online.

Step 5: Now you can add the device into guarding vision by entering the las 9 digits of the serial number which can be viewed by going in to

Configuration  System  System Settings.

Step 6: Open the guarding vision app on your mobile device and register for a new account.

Step 7: Click on the ‘+’ sign on the top right corner of the app and select manual add for serial number or QR code to scan the QR code on the device sticker

(Note: Playback can be viewed on the App for IP Cameras that support Micro SD Card)

Add Device with Static IP into Guarding Vision for Local Access

Add IP Camera to Guarding Vision with Static IP Address

Purpose: This document provides instructions on how to find and add a IP camera with static IP address into the Guarding Vision App.

Note:

Method 1: Adding an online device in the local network

Step 1: Open Guarding vision App and select “Guarding Vision” on the bottom of the App. Click on the “+” icon on the top right to access adding menu.

Step 2: From the Add menu, select “Online Device”

Step 3: In the online device list, tap the device you want to add. You will be taken to a details page.

Step 4: The details page shows you the info of the device that you just selected.

(Note: Select the “Add Device to Guarding Vision Server” option available under the “Add” button for remote access over cloud. For this, the device should be connected to the network and  the “Platform Access” option should be enabled from the local menu/web menu for NVR/DVR. For a IP Camera, the “Platform Access” should be enabled from the web menu.)

Step 4: in the “Add Device” page, input the Username and Password for the device and click  on  icon on the top right corner to save the login credentials and finish adding the device.

Method 2: Manual Adding option

(Note: Using this method, you can add a portforwarded device with a public IP address.)

Step1: Open the App and click on the “+” icon on the top right to access the add menu. Select “Manual Adding”.

Step 2: Select “IP/Domain” to change the adding type.

Step 3: Create a name for the device by typing in the “Alias” option.

• Input the “IP address” of the device and the login Credentials. Tap on  icon on the top right to save the values entered.

(Note: If you have a device with a port forwarded IP address, you can enter that public IP address in the address space with the device login credentials.)
