Before you start…​

Before anything, to be able to add your IP cameras, you need to make sure that:

Step 1:​

Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your NVR in the address bar. If you are not sure what this is, use the SADP tool to find it.​

Step 2:​

Log in to the NVR using the “admin” username and password you have set on it.​

Step 3:​

Go to: Device Access > Device Configuration > PoE Settings​

If you are connecting your camera via the Plug-and-Play method, then make sure that Network Camera Plug-and-Play is enabled on the POE port you will be connecting the camera to on this page.​

For any camera with a cable run under 100m, leave the Network Cable Distance as Short Distance.​

If you are connecting your camera manually by IP address, disable the Network Camera Plug-and-Play option for the channel that you plan to add the camera to.​

Step 4:​

Go to: Device Access > Device > Video Device​

For any Plug-and-Play camera, just make sure that it is in its inactive default state and then connect it to the port you reserved in step 3. After 20 seconds or so, the camera Status should turn to Connecting and then Online (you may need to click on Refresh to see this).​

For Manually added cameras, if you can see the camera in the List of Online Devices section, then just tick the box for the camera and then click + Add to Device List, which will then automatically add it to one of the channels you disabled Plug-and-Play on in the last step.​

Alternatively…​

Click on +Add at the top of the page and fill out the fields as follows:​

IP Address: Enter the IP address of your camera, using the ‘Test’ button to verify there is a camera at that address. ​

Device Name: This can be anything you like, as it is the name the camera will show with on your NVR. ​

Protocol: Select the camera’s manufacturer from this list, or failing that, use the ONVIF protocol (your camera will need to have ONVIF enabled for this to work). ​

Management Port: Enter the Server port set on the camera, which you can find in the SADP tool or in Network>Basic Settings>Port in the camera’s web browser interface. If you haven’t changed this, it is usually 8000 by default. ​

User Name: “admin” or the username of any other users set up on that camera. ​

Password: The password set with that user on the camera – if this is the same as the ‘Default Activation Password‘ you have set on the NVR, then you can tick this box instead. ​

Transfer Protocol: ‘Auto’ is normally best. ​

When these are completed, click OK.​

Your camera should then appear in the list of devices with an assigned channel, and an Online status, meaning it has been successfully added.​

How do I reset my Hikvision device to factory settings?

In some cases, you’ll need to reset your Hikvision device to its inactive factory state. This could be if you’re passing the system on to somebody else; if you’ve forgotten your password; or simply if something has gone wrong during the configuration, meaning you need to start afresh.

There are a couple of ways of doing this, the method you’ll use depends on whether you have a password to log into the device.

On the majority of Hikvision’s newer camera models, there will be a pushbutton on the camera which will allow to carry out a hard reset without needing to log into it. This is most useful when you have forgotten your password, as it allows you to set a new password on the camera while avoiding much of the faff involved in doing this through the SADP tool.

1, It makes a beep after reset the camera, open the App, click “+ Add camera” –scan QR-code on the camera.

2, Click “Device light is blinking”—Next, then connect your home wifi.

4.Connect new WiFi–select your home WIFI and input password–Confirm. Then unplug network cable.

Add Device Via Camera Hotspot

1, Please click “Add camera”—other ways to add—Connecting camera hotspot to add.

2, Check “Device light is blinking” and click Next, then connect your home wifi, and click Next again.

3, Click “Go to settings” to connect camera hotspot, find hotspot IPC*********, input password”11111111”.

It doesn’t matter if it showing not network, just click ok, then go back to app.

4, Finally, wait for device to connecting successfully, then edit the device name.

The camera often offline

1, Check whether the camera antenna is vertically upward.

2, please confirm the distance between the camera to your router, it better within 30FT, if the distance too far, the camera will offline.

3, If still offline, please give your camera version, we will give you a firmware to upgrade camera, it can enhances the camera’s signal.

Camera can’t connect to wifi

1, please confirm wifi is 2.4G or 5G, the camera only support 2.4G. And wifi password cannot exceed 12 characters.

2, if it is 4G wifi, please place the camera next to the router, then press the reset button for 6 seconds to add device again.

3, or you can connect the camera to your router with network cable, then switch to wirelessly connection.

How to using PTZ function on NVR?

1, please left click your mouse, you will see a smart menu below, click PTZ control.

2, click the arrow direction to move the camera.

Please note, if your camera is digital camera, you can’t zoom in or out in this interface, it only suit for optical zoom camera.

You need to go back to main menu, left click mouse again, click zoom in, then roll you mouse to zoom in.

but when you zoom in, the camera image will blur.

How to share the device to other one?

a, Please go to the app–click “Share” icon–select permission and effective time.

b, after click complete icon, you will get a QR-code.

Please note that another phone must first download the application “esecloud” and then register a new account. One account cannot log in to two mobile phones at the same time.

Unable to hear camera sound

If “x” is displayed on sound option, it is not turned on, you need to turn on first.

If still can’t hear sound, please go to setup interface—recording settings—verify that the “Record Sound Switch” option is enabled.

How to setup motion tracking

If you add camera to NVR, please go to video detection to check whether your nvr support motion tracking.

Usually, NVR not support motion tracking, you need to add camera to the app Eseecloud, then add to NVR, so that you can setup motion tracking on the app.

1, Into device—click setting icon on upper right corner—go to smart detection alarm—enable motion tracking option.

How to set preset position cruise

1, go to setting interface—ptz control—cruise mode—select preset position cruise.

2, go back to record interface–click Preset–add more than two different positions–go to More–click cruise.

After setting successful, the camera will cruise within the preset position range.

Camera not recording after install SD card

1, Please go to setting interface–Storage setting–local storage space–check the status of the SD card.

2, SD card is in normal status, please check if SD card capacity is full, and then format the SD card.

3, If showing no SD card, please take the SD card out and insert it again. (Please keep the power off before inserting the SD card)

Alexa not skill Eseecloud

1, Please check if you have enable Alexa option on the app, click setting icon, advance settings, Alexa service authorization.

Fixed-point cruise on NVR

1) Right click the mouse–system setup–channel setup–PTZ setup. select correct channel. Add first cruise point,

2) click add to set first position (the default is 1, which does not need to be changed),

3) then click preset box select 2–add, add multiple cruise points in this way. You also can select “keep time” you want, preferably in five seconds or more.

4) And then click “?” question mark into the PTZ control interface–click PTZ control option to set first position, then click store.

5) change the preset box to 2, adjust the camera lens to second position–store

6) right click anywhere –return to the PTZ setting interface–apply—ok.

After connect to mobile phone, camera showing “wrong password” on NVR.

The camera will turn to the wall or the ground

Please note that your Lorex Account and Lorex App account email and passwords are the same. Changing one will automatically change the other.

There are two ways to reset your Lorex App password:

1. Click Forgot Password on the main app Login screen.

2. Enter your email, a new account password, and click Get Activation Code.

3. Enter the 6-Digit Verification Code sent to your email and click ok.

Method 2: Website

1. Click Recover Password from the Lorex Login page

2. Enter your email address associated with your Lorex Account and click Recover

3. Check your email for your Verification Code.

4. Return to the Recover Password page and input your email address, new password, and verification code that you received.

5. Click Reset and then login using your new credentials.

How to Locate Your Recorder’s System Information

To complete the temporary password request form on the website, please gather the following information:

System Date: Located in the top-right corner of the screen once the recorder is powered on.

Device ID: Located on the QR code sticker attached to the outside of your recorder.

Device Model: Located in the INFO section from the Quick Menu of your recorder (the device ID can also be found here).

Once you have the Device ID at hand, please take a picture of the Device Info screen and the sticker with the serial number found on the unit.

If you have forgotten the password to one of your IP security cameras, you will either need to reset the camera manually. Please see your camera’s documentation to see if there is a reset button.

Reset Button:

If your IP Camera includes a reset button, you can hold the button down to revert it to its default setting. This will allow you to set up the camera again through your NVR with a new password.

If your smartphone supports fingerprint login, you can use it to sign in to your Lorex App.

Step 1. Launch the Lorex App app, then tap Account at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2. Tap Account Settings.

Step 3. Tap Security.

Step 4. Toggle Fingerprint Login button to ON (to enable it) or OFF (to disable it).

The first time you power up your system, you will be asked to create a new, secure password. Follow the instructions below for remote access to your security system after you have created a new secure system password through your recorder.

1.Download and install the free Lorex Cloud app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

2.Tap the Lorex Cloud icon to open the app.

3.Tap Live view iconthen device list icon

4.Tap DVR/NVR/IP Camera.

Changing or Resetting Your Recorder’s Password

Note: When resetting your password, use the temporary password sent to you. The temporary password is valid until the end of the day. If you haven’t received a temporary password yet, refer to “How to Reset Your NVR or DVR’s Password“.

1.From the Live View display, right-click to open the Quick Menu, then click Main Menu.

2.Click ACCOUNT, then the User tab from the side panel.

3.Click  next to the account you want to change the password for.

Note: Passwords for the system must be a minimum of 8 characters, and must include at least 2 of the following character types: lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.

There are different processes to reset your password for different types of Lorex products or accounts.

Please note that your Lorex Account and Lorex App account email and passwords are the same. Changing one will automatically change the other.

There are two ways to reset your Lorex App password:

1. Click Forgot Password on the main app Login screen.

2. Enter your email, a new account password, and click Get Activation Code.

3. Enter the 6-Digit Verification Code sent to your email and click ok.

Method 2: Website

1. Click Recover Password from the Lorex Login page

2. Enter your email address associated with your Lorex Account and click Recover

3. Check your email for your Verification Code.

4. Return to the Recover Password page and input your email address, new password, and verification code that you received.

5. Click Reset and then login using your new credentials.

How to Locate Your Recorder’s System Information

To complete the temporary password request form on the website, please gather the following information:

System Date: Located in the top-right corner of the screen once the recorder is powered on.

Device ID: Located on the QR code sticker attached to the outside of your recorder.

Device Model: Located in the INFO section from the Quick Menu of your recorder (the device ID can also be found here).

Once you have the Device ID at hand, please take a picture of the Device Info screen and the sticker with the serial number found on the unit.

If you would like to put a lock on your Lorex Cloud app, follow these steps to secure your app.

NOTE: The following instructions are shown using an iOS (Apple) smartphone. There may be some differences in the user interface when using an Android smartphone or tablet.

To turn on the User Code:

 Launch the Lorex Cloud app on your smartphone or tablet.

 Tap the settings button  on the top left corner.

 Turn on User Code.

 Enter a 4-digit code.

 Re-enter the 4-digit code to confirm.

Your User Code is now activated to access the Lorex Cloud app.

Lorex Cloud App: Activating deterrence features

Active deterrence features deter suspicious activities from occurring by flashing a warning light and/or sounding a siren from compatible cameras. You can manually control these features using the Lorex Cloud app.

To activate deterrence manually through the Lorex Cloud app:

 From live view, double-tap the deterrence camera to open the channel in full screen.

Tap the deterrence icons on the camera display to switch on/off the following deterrence features:

• Tap the icon to switch on  / off  the camera warning light.

• Tap the icon to switch on  / off  the camera siren.

NOTE: The camera warning light / siren will automatically switch off after 10 seconds.

Lorex Cloud: Troubleshooting for migrated devices

Users who recently migrated from the Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app to Lorex Cloud may experience minor performance issues, which are easily resolved. See below for solutions to common issues faced by new Lorex Cloud users:

App takes too long to connect / does not connect to cameras

If the Lorex Cloud app is not connecting to your cameras, it may be due to a pending firmware update on your recorder. If a newer firmware version is available, download and install the new firmware.

IMPORTANT: Do not power down or unplug the unit during the firmware upgrade process.

If no newer firmware version is available, please reboot your recorder and wait approximately 10 minutes before attempting to connect with Lorex Cloud again.

Cannot find video enhance feature

Users of Lorex Secure and FLIR Secure will be accustomed to switching between standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video using the Enhance button on the live viewing screen.

Lorex Cloud has an equivalent feature on the live viewing screen.

To change video quality in Lorex Cloud:

Connect power

Before add YI IoT camera, please connect YI IoT camera to the power supply first.

After the device is successfully started, wait for about 20s, and you can start scanning when you hear a beeping sound.

Add camera

There are 3 ways to add a YI IoT camera, we recommend using ‘WiFi connection’ to add a YI IoT camera.

Click the ‘+’ icon, then click ‘Scan code binbing’, scan the QR code on YI IoT camera, the APP will show the recommended way to add.

Follow the instructions on the APP to add a YI IoT camera.

Can’t find the QR code on the YI IoT camera? You don’t need to scan the QR code, you can add the camera manually.

Add camera: WiFi connection

1. Select WiFi connection, make sure YI IoT camera is beeping, click ‘l heard the beep‘ > Next.

2. Enter your WiFi password, then click next.

If the app does not show your wifi, please make sure your phone is connected to wifi.

3. The app shows the QR code to YI IoT camera to scan, phone is 4-8 inches away from the camera, camera will issue a voice prompt for a successful scan.

4. Wait for YI IoT camera to connect to wifi, set the camera name after successful connection.

How to use YI IoT Camera without Internet？

If you don’t have wifi, or use YI IoT camera without internet, you can use Hotspot direct connect.

But you can’t watch YI IoT camera remotely, you can’t receive alarm notifications, you can only use the simplest functions.

1. Select Hotspot direct connect, then connect the phone WiFi to the network with”CAM_ “the default password is: 12345678 and return to the APP

2. Go back to the app, click on to connect, and now you can use the camera.

Note: This mode can only be used if you connect to the camera’s hotspot wifi.

Share the camera

Sharing the camera allows multiple phones to use the camera.

1. Click on the share icon > Share cameras with your family,You can choose QR Code or YI loT account to share.

Note: The other party needs to have a YI IoT account to add a camera.

1. Select QR Code, Select the permissions available to share, and then tap Share.

2. Ask invitee to open the app and press the account icon in the lower right corner of the page.

Press the QR Code icon in the upper right corner and have your friend scan.

1. Select YI IoT account, select shareable permissions, enter the invitee’s YI IoT email address, and click Share.

2. YI IoT APP will send a notification to your invitee. Your invitee needs to confirm invitation in the App.

Recording Settings

The camera will only be displayed when the SD card is inserted SD card recording settings, inserting the SD card will, the camera will restart.

By default, the camera is activated with Event recordi, after activating motion detection, the camera will automatically record when it detects motion.

You can set the recording mode in SD card recording.

All time recording: The camera will record all the time and will not stop.
Event recording: Only record when an alarm event is detected

All-day Recording: 24-hour operation
Custom: You can set the time to start recording, (up to 3)

View Camera Recording

Click on the Activity to enter the interface, ‘‘ is the cloud storage video, ‘‘ is the SD card video.

The blue time indicates the time when there is video recording.

Motion Detection Settings

After turning on motion detection, the camera detects motion and the app will push an alarm notification.
The motion detection recording is set in the SD card recording.

You can set the detection sensitivity and notification frequency in Smart Detection, and you can also activate the alarm sound.

Motion Detection: Motion detection switch
Sensitivity Level – High：The camera will generate an alert and video when detecting the object slightly shaking.

Sensitivity Level – Medium：The camera will generate an alert and video when detecting the object moving at an moderate.

Sensitivity Level – LOW：The camera will generate an alert and video when detecting the object moving significantly.

Alert Frequency: Low – 10 minute，Medium – 5 minute， High – 1 minute
Schedule: Set alarm notification working time

Camera alarm sound: When activated, the camera will sound an alarm when it detects motion.

Motion tracking Settings

Motion tracking is activated in Camera Settings.
Motion tracking allows you to track moving objects, and the camera will follow the movement of the object.

YI IoT Light bulb camera Setup

YI IoT Light bulb camera has the same function as a normal camera, the main feature is that it can be mounted on a light stand.
If your YI IoT camera supports Light, you can see the ‘‘ icon in the live screen. By clicking the ‘‘ icon, you can select the Light working mode.

Auto: When in night vision mode, the camera detects the movement of objects, the camera will start Light.

Manual switch: You can choose Open or Close to switch the Light manually.

Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve issues preventing the Foscam App from accessing the video feed of a camera.

Solution: The Foscam App generates the error message ‘Failed to connect, please try again”.

Step 1:Check to see if the Foscam camera is connected to the internet.
If you can login to the camera from the Foscam App when the mobile device is connected to the same network as the camera it is connecting to the internet.
Step 2: Verify the mobile device is connected to the internet.

Open a web browser on the mobile device and attempt to access a web site. If the site is accessible, the mobile device has access to the internet.
Step 3: Verify the P2P feature of the camera is enabled.
Login to the camera via a web browser on a computer connected to the same LAN. Navigate to Settings → Network → P2P and verify the feature is enabled. Or modify P2P port to any other one.

Step 4: Lower the bit rate and frame rate of the live video feed from the camera.
There are times when network speeds and traffic can reduce the amount of data/video feed that can be accessed by the mobile device.
In this case lowering the amount of raw video data being sent to the mobile device can correct a network related issue such as this.

Step 5: Change the P2P port of the camera  in the event the port is being blocked by a firewall of the router or the ISP.

If your camera supports to change the P2P port number like below, you can change the P2P port to any number between 10000 to 60000.

Step 6: Check for any firmware updates that may be needed on the camera and be sure that the Foscam App is up to date with the latest version. Once updated attempt the connection again.

Step7: If all above steps do not solve your case, please send the UID of your camera to support@foscam.com for help. 

How to add a Foscam camera back to the Foscam app after the network of camera was changed?

Overview: This article will introduce the process of adding an existing camera back to the Foscam app after the network of camera was changed. The type of change could be a replacement router or the network was moved to a different location. This includes changing the network name or password for security purposes.
Step 1: Delete the old Foscam camera from the app first.

How to add a HD camera to the Foscam app?

Overview: This article will introduce three methods of adding a HD camera to the Foscam app using a smartphone. Once the camera is added, live video feed can be viewed from the device.

Please be sure the Foscam app is installed on the smartphone and that a Foscam cloud account is already established.

Step 1: Add the information for the camera to the Foscam App

Method 1: Add a camera via the QR Code.

•    Login to the Foscam app

•    Click the + button

How to set up wireless connection for Foscam camera by the Foscam App if the camera is already connected to the router with a cable?

Overview: This article will introduce the procedure of setting up the wireless configuration on a Foscam camera using the Foscam app while the camera is connected to a router via an Ethernet cable.

Note: In some cases, this method may be the best solution to connect a Foscam camera to an older wireless router which does not support the standard method of adding a camera wirelessly. This method has also proven to be effective during situations where the connectionconfiguration for wireless has proven to be difficult.

Pre-conditions:
Be sure the following steps/conditions are met before proceeding.
1)Connect the camera with an Ethernet cable directly to the wireless router.
2)Maintain a distance between the camera and wireless router of 2-5 meters (6-12 feet) maximum.

3)Verify the cellphone is connected to the wireless router’s 2.4GHz wireles. (If your Foscam camera supports dual-band wireless, your cellphone can connect to either 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz wireless.)
4)Verify that no special characters are used in the wireless password. These include characters outside of A-Z and 0-9.

Step 1: Add the camera to the Foscam App.

Proceed to Step 2 if the camera has already been added to the App.

Step 2: Navigate to the Live Video page and click on the Settings icon to proceed to the camera settings.

Step 3: Find the WiFi Settings Icon and click on it to access the settings page.

Note: At this point the internal wireless adapter of the camera is scanning nearby WIFI networks to show what networks are currently within radio range of the camera.
Step 4: Find and select the correct WIFI SSID. The app will prompt for the WIFI password. Be sure to enter the password correctly and click the Connect button.

After the above steps are completed standby for approximately 30 seconds before unplugging the Ethernet cable from the camera. After unplugging the Ethernet cable the wireless module in the camera should take over and attempt to login to the wireless network.

The camera should reappear on the Foscam app after a few minutes.

How to share your camera with others on Foscam app?

Foscam app has added a new feature to let you share your cameras with other Foscam app users to let them view your camera’s live video. Here is the instruction of that new feature.

1. Please log in your Foscam account, login the camera and tap on the camera settings button.

2. Please tap on the “Share Camera” , choose “Invite”, input the Nickname and other’s Foscam account address, and tap on “Share” button.

3. Then please ask others to login his/her Foscam account and there will be a message shown up. After he/she accepted that, he/she will be able to see the shared camera.

Why do I not receive alarm push messages on the Foscam App?

Overview: Normally alarm messages can be received via the Foscam App after Foscam camera alarms on the human/motion/sound detection. If these messages are not being received, please follow the Solutions below to correct this situation.

Solution 1: Please be sure the firmware of the camera is running the latest version and the Foscam App has been updated to the latest version.
Visit the Apple App Store or the Google App store and verify the latest version of the app is currently installed on the cellphone.

Solution 2: Verify that the motion/sound detection settings are enabled on the camera being monitored.
• Log in the camera via Foscam app on cellphone and go to camera’s live video–>Settings–>Alarm to enable the alarm for your camera.

Solution 3: Verify the push message feature is enabled on the Foscam App.
• Login to the Foscam App and navigate to App Settings → Push Messages to enable it for your camera.

Solution 4: Verify that the notification for the Foscam App are enabled on the smart device and are not blocked. This should be under the Notification Settings on the Smart Device.

Solution 5: Verify if an alarm triggered event occurred on the camera.
Login to the camera via the LAN with a web browser or Foscam VMS and navigate to Settings → Status → Log to check the activity of the camera to see if any alarm events have been logged by the unit.

Step 6: Remove the camera from the Foscam App temporarily and re-add it.
In the event a saved setting may have been corrupted this will clear the recent settings stored by the App in the event this occurred.

How to update the camera’s firmware using the Foscam app?

Overview: There are two ways to update the firmware of a Foscam camera. The first way is to update the firmware via the camera’s web page using aweb browser. The second way to upgrade a camera’s firmware is to use the Foscam App. This article will introduce the simplest way to upgrade the firmware of Foscam camera using the app. Please be sure to follow all the instructions below for a successful update.

Note: As the end user, you may experience a slight delay in the responsiveness of the Foscam app due to cellular network delays and slower network speed. These conditions can be caused by cellular network congestion, data throttling initiated by the cellular provider and weak cellular data connections.

If the Foscam app is responding slowly please give it a few moments to update as you proceed through the firmware update process. It is recommended that the smartphone and camera be connected to the same network before proceeding.

Initial Preparation:
1) Verify that the Foscam camera to be upgraded is powered on and currently connected to the network. Make sure you can see the camera’s live video on Foscam app first.
2) During the upgrade, it is best to connect the cellphone and camera to the same network.

Technical Advisory: While it is possible to upgrade the firmware while using a cellular data network connection it is not recommended. Especially in the event the data connection to the camera is lost mid-way through the upgrade process. This can cause irreversible data loss to the camera which may result in bricking the device.
Step 1: Using the Foscam App login to the camera and select the Settings icon.

Step 2: Click on the Firmware Update option.
(It will normally have a red indicator near it showing that a firmware update is available for the camera.)
 
Step 3: The Foscam app will check for the firmware update and indicate a new update if it is available. A new page will open indicating the information for the new update. Click on the Upgrade button to initiate the firmware update process.

Note: If there is no firmware update the page will indicate that the firmware is up to date.
 
Step 4: The App will indicate the progress of the firmware download to the camera. Once the download is completed standby to see the completion of the upgrade.

NOTE: Please do not interrupt power to the camera or attempt any other functions with the app during the firmware upgrade process. This may interrupt the installation of the newer firmware which could brick the phone. This one of the reasons the cellular data connection is NOT recommended.   

How to add a camera with 3rd party DDNS URL for remote access to the Foscam App?

Overview: This article will introduce the process to add a camera with 3rd party DDNS URL for remote access to the Foscam App.

Step1: Please follow the instruction here to set up the 3rd party DDNS remote access for the camera first.

Step2: Please log-in the Foscam app, click ‘+’ icon, then choose ‘Others’.

Step3: Input the DDNS and port number to add.

Step4: Input the camera username and password.
In Security Settings input the username and password of the camera being added.
Standby for up to two minutes for the camera to be added to the app.

Step5: Log-in to the camera to view the video feed.

Once the camera has been added click on the play button to login to the unit and view the video feed. If this is the first login or the camera has been recently reset to factory settings you may be prompted to enter a new password and username.

How to add a camera with P2P UID for remote access to the Foscam App?

Overview: This article will introduce the process of adding a Foscam camera by entering its UID number to the Foscam app.

Note:

To prepare for this configuration the UID must be documented for the camera. The number is usually located on a label on the bottom or the side of the camera. Be sure all the numbers and letters are correct otherwise it will be impossible to add the camera using this method.

Step 1: Launch the Foscam app from your cellphone and log into the Foscam cloud account.

Click the + icon and choose “Others”.

Step 2: Enter the UID of the camera and tap on Add.

Step 3: Enter the username and password for the camera and view the video of the camera.

How to set up wireless connection for Foscam camera by Focsam app using the Ezlink feature 2.0? What is the App-generated QR Code method?

This article will guide you through the steps of easily setting up a Foscam camera using a process known as the QR Code method and Ezlink 2.0.

If your camera’s UID does not end with ZZZ, please follow below steps to set up wireless connecton for it by Ezlink 2.0.

Before moving forward with the camera setup verify the following steps are completed.

1)Download the Foscam App from the Apple Store or Google Play Store and install it to the cellphone.

2)Apply power to the camera and allow it to complete the self-test.

3)Verify the camera is set to the factory settings

If this is in question perform a hard reset of the device. To perform a hard reset on the device press and hold the reset button down for 12-15 seconds. The camera will announce reset succeeded,

power cycle, and perform the   movement test if it is a motorized Port and Tilt camera. For steps on how to hard reset Foscam cameras, please click here.

4)Connect the cellphone to the wireless network which the camera is going to connect to and verify the cellphone is connected to the 2.4 GHz wireless band on the wireless network. If your camera supports dual-band wireless, your cellphone can connect to either 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz wireless.

5)Verify the cellphone and camera are within 3 meters (10 feet) of the wireless router.

6)DO NOT power off the camera during the setup process unless it is to move the cellphone screen closer to the camera lens.

Perform the following steps to configure the camera for connection to a wireless Network:

Step 1: Please power on the camera and allow it to complete the initial startup tests and standby until the camera announces “Hello Foscan” and “Ready for wireless Configuration”.

Step 2: Launch the Foscam App on the cellphone, login to the account and tap the + button to add the camera.

Step 3: Scan the QR code of the camera using the camera of the cellphone. (The sticker with the code on it is on the bottom or the side of the camera depending on the model.)

Step 4: Within the Foscam app, please select WiFi connection.

Note: Some cameras will announce with a voice prompt “Ready for WIFI configuration”.

Step 5: Within the Foscam app, please enter the router’s WiFi password and click “Confirm” to generate the QR code.

Note: Verify that the correct WiFi password was entered before proceeding

Step 6: Standby for the Foscam app to generate the QR code. Once the process is complete the app will announce that the code has been generated and it will be displayed on the screen of the cellphone. Position the screen of the cellphone toward the camera lens so the camera can collect the information to configure itself to login to the wireless network.

Note: The distance between the cellphone and the camera lens should be within 15 centimeters. The camera is using two methods of communication to self-configure. One is transmitting and receiving wireless broadcast packets and the other is scanning the QR code identification information which contains the login password for the wireless network.

Step 7: After the configuration process is completed the camera will announce “Wireless connection succeeded” and the camera will be added to the Foscam app.

Step 8: After the camera is added to the network, please click on the play button to view video feed from the camera.

The app will ask you to create a new username and password for the camera if the unit has not been configured yet or has been reset to factory settings.

How to set up wireless connection for Foscam camera by Focsam app using the Ezlink feature 1.0?

Overview: This article will introduce the process of setting up wireless connection for Foscam camera by Focsam app using the Ezlink 1.0.

If your camera’s UID ends with ZZZ, please follow below steps to set up wireless connecton for it by Ezlink 1.0.

Pre-paration:
1.Verify the camera supports the Ezlink feature and power it on.
a.If the camera UID ends with ZZZ, it supports Ezlink feature. The UID number is on the camera’s sticker.
2.Make sure the camera is in the Ezlink mode.

a.Reset camera to default to put it in Ezlink mode, see here on how to reset the camera.
3.Maintain a distance between the camera and router between 2-5 meters. (6-15 feet)
4.Verify the cellphone is connected to the 2.4 GHz wireless band on the wireless network. If your camera supports dual-band wireless, your cellphone can connect to either 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz wireless.
Verify that there are no specialty characters present in the wireless network password. If so the password for the wireless network will need to be updated. Specialty characters include !@#$% etc.

Step 1: Launch the Foscam app and login to the Foscam Cloud account.
Click the + button to add a new camera by scanning the QR code located on the sticker of the camera.

Step 2: Then please choose “Scan the QR code”

Step 3: Input the Wi-Fi network password and click “Confirm” .
Please wait for about two minutes while the cellphone communicates across the wireless network to configure the camera’s wireless connection.

Step 4: After the camera is added to the network, please click on the play button to view video feed from the camera.

The app will ask you to create a new username and password for the camera if the unit has not been configured yet or has been reset to factory settings.

How to set up alarm push message on the Foscam App?

Overview: This article will introduce the process of enabling Push Messages from the Foscam App in order to help you receive alarm messages when camera alarms.
Note: The camera’s motion/sound/human detection alarm should be enabled before receiving the push messages by Foscam app.

Technical Note: Please be sure the latest firmware is installed on all Foscam products and that the app is up to date with the latest version.

Step 1: Launch the Foscam App on the cellphone and login with the Foscam cloud account

Step 2: Tap on Account option on the right bottom corner, go to Settings and tap on the Push Messages option to enable it for the camera.

Note: The user will need to make sure that the desired camera is already add to the Foscam Cloud account and App first.
Step 3: After the camera alarms on the motion/sound/human, the user should now get a push message on the Foscam App.

Foscam NVR app is designed to allow Foscam NVRs to be viewed on mobile phone. It has android and iOS version you can download the app from app store for free. It supports below features.

Below buttons are used to control camera, from left to right they are
Audio: Get the audio information around the camera
Capture: Can snap individual pictures
Record: Manual record on the local

Image Quality: Fluent / HD

How to disable the Wi-Fi only option in the Foscam App so I can view Foscam camera using cellular data?

Overview: This article will introduce the process of how to disable the Wi-Fi only option in the Foscam App. 
Note: Verify that the cellular data plan can handle the amount of data that may be used while viewing the video stream of a camera to avoid unwanted fees that may be added to the cellular bill.

Follow the steps below to access the camera via a cellular data network.

Step 1: Login to the Foscam App
1) Go to the App settings.

Step 2: Disable the Wi-Fi Only for Streaming option.

After the process is completed the camera will now be accessible via cellular data. Please be sure to monitor your data plan to prevent overages on data usage. As a precaution, you may check with your cellular provider on details of the data plan you are currently enrolled in.

How to fix the error Configuration timeout for Ezlink on the Foscam App?

Overview: Setting up a camera with the Foscam app for a wireless network involves connecting a cellphone to the same wireless network. Normally during this process, the login information for the wireless network is sent to the camera and the camera logs into the network at the end of the procedure. Once completed, the camera is listed as one of the devices available to access from the app.

If something goes wrong with the procedure a user may encounter the error message “Sorry, your camera has failed to be added, Configuration time out for Ezlink.”  
To correct this error message, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Perform a hard reset of the camera to make sure the camera is in Ezlink mode and you will hear camera saying “ready for WiFi configuration” if your camera has built-in micphone and speaker.

Step 2: Confirm that the cellphone is connected to the same wireless network that the camera is supposed to be connected to.
• Note: Disabling cellular data may make the configuration process easier to perform.
Step 3: Verify the frequency band of the wireless network is 2.4 GHz if your camera only supports 2.4GHz wireless. If your camera supports dual-band wireless, your cellphone can connect to either 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz wireless.
Step 4: During the setup process, please maintain a distance between the phone, camera, and wireless network around 2-5 meters (6-15 feet.) 
• The camera can be placed in the place intended for installation after the network configuration steps are completed.

Step 5: Confirm the password for the wireless network has been properly input into the configuration settings of the Foscam App.
• The use of special characters for the wireless network password may cause connection difficulties. If there are repeated problems being encountered with a password using special characters @()*^&*(&*^% consider changing the wireless password to something containing letters and numbers only..
• NOTE: In the event the password is changed for the wireless network all devices that were connected to that network will need to have their password information updated to connect in the future.

Step 6: Check to see if the MAC ID filter is enabled on the router.
• If the MAC ID filter is enabled only the devices authorized to be connected to the router have access to the network.
• The work around is to temporarily disable the filter to allow the camera to connect. Once the camera is connected add it’s wireless MAC ID to the filter and re-enable the filter.

Step 7: Check to see if the router is running the latest firmware update.
• Visit the Support page for the wireless router at the manufacturers web site. Some earlier versions of firmware and some routers may prevent the wireless procedure from sending the login information to the camera. 
• Some routers may block this process and a different means of sending the login information to the camera will need to be implemented.
Step 8: If all the above steps fail connect the camera with an Ethernet cable to the router so it can access the wired network. 

• Allow the camera to establish a connection to the network via the Ethernet cable.
• Add the camera to the Foscam App, once added navigate through the app and setup the camera for a wireless network using the app.
• Download our Quick Reference Guide for your camera for this alternative setup process for the camera to connect to the network. Once the camera is setup with the login information for this network it will not have to be done unless a notable change to the network occurs or a new router is installed in the future. (New network password, new network name, etc.)

How to delete an old camera from the Foscam app?

Overview: This article will introduce the procedure on how to delete a camera from the Foscam app which is no longer used or needed.

Steps:
1)Launch/Open the Foscam App from cellphone.

This chapter explains the different recording and replay related functions in the system.

4.2.1

Automated Network Replenishment (ANR)

Intended use

When a failure of the network or the central storage occurs, the ANR function ensures that the encoder transmits the locally buffered recording of the missing time period to the central storage after the failure is fixed.

The following graphic shows the transmission of video data after a network or storage failure is fixed.

Example: Work around network failure

If the network fails unexpectedly, the ANR function completes the central storage with the locally buffered recording when the network is available again.

Example: Store video data when network is not available

A subway has no network connection to the central storage when located between stations. Only during regular stops the buffered recording can be transmitted to the central storage. Ensure that the time period that is required for transferring the buffered recording, does not exceed the time period of a stop.

Example: ANR for alarm recording

The pre-alarm recording is stored locally. Only in case of an alarm, this pre-alarm recording is transmitted to the central storage. If no alarm occurs, the obsolete pre-alarm recording is not transmitted to the central storage and, hence, does not burden the network.

Limitations

Notice!

You cannot use playback from the local storage media when the passwords for ‘user’ and ‘live’ are set on the encoder. Remove the passwords if required.

4.3 Alarm handling

Alarms can be individually configured to be handled by one or more user groups. When an alarm occurs, it appears in the Alarm List of all users in the user groups configured to receive that alarm. When any one of these users starts to work on the alarm, it disappears from the Alarm List of all other users.

Alarms are displayed on a workstation’s alarm monitor. This behavior is described in the following paragraphs.

Alarm flow

1. An alarm occurs in the system.
2. Alarm notifications appear in the Alarm Lists of all users configured for this alarm. Alarm video is immediately displayed on configured monitors. If it is an automatically displayed alarm (auto pop-up), the alarm video is also automatically displayed on the Operator Client workstation’s alarm monitors.

If the alarm is configured as an auto-clear alarm, the alarm is removed from the Alarm List after the auto-clear time (configured in the Configuration Client).

On monitors, any quad views from VIP XDs are temporarily replaced by full-screen displays.

1. One of the users accepts the alarm. The alarm video is then displayed on this user’s workstation (if it is not already displayed via auto pop-up). The alarm is removed from all other Alarm Lists and alarm video displays.
2. The user who accepted the alarm invokes a workflow that can include reading an action plan and entering comments. This step is optional – requirements for workflow can be configured by the administrator.
3. Finally, the user clears the alarm. This removes the alarm from his Alarm List and alarm display.

On a monitor group, the monitors return to the cameras that were displayed before the alarm occurred.

Alarm Image window

1. To display alarm video, the Alarm Image window replaces the Live or Playback Image window on the monitor that has been configured for alarm display.
2. Each alarm gets a row of Image panes. Up to 5 Image panes can be associated with each alarm. These Image panes can display live video, playback video, or maps.

On a monitor group, each alarm can call up cameras on a row of monitors. The number of cameras in the row is limited by the number of columns in the monitor group. Monitors in the row that are not used for alarm video can be configured to either continue with their current display or to display a blank screen.

1. Higher priority alarms are displayed above lower priority alarms on both monitor rows and the Operator Client workstation display alarm rows.
2. If the Alarm image window is completely full of Alarm image rows and an additional alarm must be displayed, the lowest priority alarms “stack up” in the bottom row of the Alarm image window. You can step through the stacked alarms with the controls at the left side of the alarm row.

You can step through the alarm stacks on monitor groups with control buttons in the Monitors window of the Operator Client workstation display. Monitors in alarm are indicated by red icons with blinking “LEDs”.

The alarm title, time, and date can be optionally be displayed on all monitors, or only the first monitor in the alarm row.

1. For equal priority alarms, the administrator can configure the order behavior:

• Last-in-First-out (LIFO) mode: in this configuration, new alarms are inserted above older alarms of the same priority.
• First-in-First-out (FIFO) mode; in this configuration, new alarms are inserted below older alarms of the same priority.

1. An alarm’s Image row can appear in the Alarm Image window in one of two ways:

• When it is generated (auto pop-up). This occurs when the alarm priority is higher than display priority.
• When the alarm is accepted. This occurs when the alarm priority is lower than display priority.
