Password Reset

How to Reset your Password

The option to change your password in the app is only available when signing in using an e-mail and password, not Single Sign-On (SSO).

7.Create a password and enter it twice to confirm.

8.You are now logged into the app.

Note: After changing the password, any mobile device(s) using this email address will need to be updated with the new password in order to access the account.

Changing your password if you are locked out

Email Updates

Follow the steps below to enable or disable notifications using the myQ app.

1.Login to the myQ app.

2.Tap the gear icon within the device view.

3.Tap on Notifications.

4.Tap the slider next to the notification to enable or disable the notification.

5.Tap Save.

Note:

• Each phone with the myQ app installed will receive push notifications.

• Email notifications are sent only to a valid email address. If you want more than one device to receive email notifications, each device must have access to the email account used during the creation of your account.

Set Up Family & Friends

myQ Users is a feature that allows you to invite up to two (2) Co-Owners and thirteen (13) additional people to access your myQ account on the myQ app.

How to Invite a New myQ User

1.Open the myQ App.

2.Tap Users at the bottom of the screen.

3.Tap the plus sign (+) (top right).

4.Choose the type of user you want to add based on the permission you would like to provide:

• Co-Owner – Allows 24/7 access to all your myQ devices and account settings.

• Family & Friend – Allows access to the myQ devices you select.

1.Enter the user’s name and email address or select the plus sign (+) next to the name field to pick from your phone’s contacts list.

Note: When choosing from your phone’s contacts using the plus sign (+), you may receive a pop-up requesting permission for myQ to access your contacts. The phone contact must contain an email to be selected.

1.Complete the invitation

◦ For Family and Friends – Continue to step 7.

How to Create and Manage myQ Account Notifications

You can set up notifications in the myQ app to know when there is activity on a connected myQ device. Notifications can be sent to your phone or email.

If you choose a specific time for your notification, the notification can’t be scheduled past midnight. For example: If you want the scheduled notification to run from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, you must create two notifications. One notification to schedule 10:00 PM to 11:59 PM and then another notification to schedule 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

How to Create a Notification for a myQ Account

1.Tap the plus sign (+) on the home page then select the connected device or tap the gear icon located within your device view.

2.Tap Notification or Notification and Alerts. Existing alerts for this device will be displayed.

3.Select the device you want to set a notification for.

4.Name the notification.

5.Choose the activity you’d like to be notified for (garage door open, light on, locked, motion)

6.Choose when you would like to be notified.

• Immediately: Get a notification as soon as the device changes.

• Remind Me: You can set a delay for notification. For example: Receive a notification after the door has been open for 10 minutes.

1. Custom times can be set up by enabling Custom Time and Day otherwise, notifications will be received for all times and days (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

• When scheduling notifications that run past midnight, you’ll need to create two separate notifications. For example: If you want the notification to run from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, set up one notification for 10:00 PM to 11:59 PM and then create another notification for 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM. This way, you’ll cover the entire time period.

2.Choose how you’d like to be notified.

• Push notification

• Email

3.Tap Save.

Manage Notifications

1.From the home page, click on Gear Icon next to the device you’d like to manage,

3.To enable/disable a particular notification, use the Toggle switch Under Access Notifications,

4.To edit a notification, tap on the notification you’d like to modify.

Delete Notifications

1.From the home page, click on Gear Icon within the device view.

2.Select Notification and Alerts.

3.Locate the existing notifications that are listed under Access Notifications.

• For Apple: Swipe left on the notification to reveal the Delete option.

• For Android – Press and hold on the notification and you will get the delete option.

1.Tap on Delete to confirm.

2.To edit a notification, tap on the notification you’d like to modify.

Notes:

• You should receive a push or email notification within 90 seconds. If you have not received a notification within 90 seconds, if not, check your device and ensure you can receive push notifications. If you denied this request when installing the app, you will need to turn it on. Consult your device’s instructions for enabling a push notification for the app.

• If your event history does not match your time, update your zip code and time zone within the account settings. See myQ® Home Control App Website – Time for alert/event is different from local time or wrong.

Add a Device to a myQ Account

A myQ device can be a myQ-enabled garage door opener, myQ-enabled gate, a myQ-enabled commercial door opener, or a myQ light control. We have two types of myQ light controls – the Remote Plug-In Light Control and the Remote Light Switch.

To Add a Device Using the myQ App

1.Log into your myQ account.

2.Tap the Initials in the upper left corner.

3.Tap Device Management.

4.Tap the Device/Hub to add the myQ device.

5.Tap Add New.

6.Select the type of device you want to add:

• myQ Garage Door Opener (non-Wi-Fi)

• Remote Light Control

• Commercial Door Operator

• Gate Operator

myQ Garage Door Opener (non-Wi-Fi)*

1.Tap on myQ Garage Door Opener

2.The screen displays “Walk up to your garage door opener and locate its learn button”, and tap Next.

3.Press and release the learn button on the garage door opener once, or the learn button on the door control twice.
Note: If you have a Wi-Fi garage door opener, see How to Clear the Wi-Fi Settings on a myQ Wi-Fi Product before attempting to add it.

4.Once the garage door opener or door control has been added, name your device then tap Save.

Remote Light Control

1.Tap on the Remote Light

2.Walk up to your remote light and locate the learn button on the side or under the cover of the remote light switch.

3.Tap Next

4.Press and release the learn button.

5.Name your device and Save.

Commercial Door Operator

1.Tap on Commercial Door Operator.

2.Locate your commercial door operator’s RADIO button.

3.Tap Next

4.Press and release the RADIO button.
Note: If you are unable to find the RADIO button, please contact your local authorized LiftMaster® dealer for assistance.

5.Once the commercial door opener has been added, name your device then tap Save.

Gate Operator

1.Tap on Gate Operator.

2.Locate the Learn or Reset button on the Gate Operator, and tap Next.

3.Open your gate with a remote or access device and tap Next.

4.Now, either (A) press the gate operator’s learn button twice or (B) toggle the gate from reset to run using the reset button switch three times. The gate operator may sound an alert tone. (This step must be done within 30 seconds of opening the gate)
Note: If you are unable to find the learn button or reset button, please contact your local authorized LiftMaster® dealer for assistance.

5.Once the gate has been added, name your device then tap Save.

myQ Error Codes and How to Resolve Them

Below are potential error codes you may encounter when using the myQ app and how to resolve the cause of the error code

301	The gateway or hub serial number was invalid. Please try again.	Make sure the device is online and the serial number that was entered is correct.

601	This garage door is permanently linked to its hub and cannot be removed. To remove garage door, go to Device Management and remove the Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener.	For a Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, the door opener is permanently connected to the built-in gateway, thus the door opener cannot be deleted from its own gateway. The gateway must be deleted instead. See article How to delete a place/hub from a myQ account
602	A device on your account already has the given device name.	There is an existing hub on the account that has the same name that the app is trying to name the hub you are adding. Go to Device Management within the myQ app and change the name of the existing hub.
707	For your security, schedules to close a garage have been disabled until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.	This error message means that there is a myQ Garage on the account and that the device is unable to schedule the door to close.

	Monitor Door Only	To resolve a Monitor Door Only message, see Monitor Door Only Mode
	Work Light Error	Plug in the myQ Remote LED Light and make sure it is programmed to the garage door opener.

Device is Offline

If your myQ device appears to be offline and cannot be controlled via the myQ app, there are several things that could be causing this issue to occur, such as:

• No power to the myQ Hub (myQ Garage, Smart Garage Hub, Smart Garage Control).

◦ Make sure that your device is plugged into a working outlet.

• The myQ Hub is not connected to the router.

◦ Try unplugging your router or modem from its power outlet. Wait 10-15 seconds and plug it back in.

• The router is not connected to the internet.

◦ Check with your internet service provider to see if your internet connection is down.

• Updates to your home network such as updated router settings, a change to your Wi-Fi password, or a new router being used.

Check the LED status on your Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control. For more information on the LED status, see Unable to Connect a myQ Device to Home Wi-Fi Network Overview and scroll down.

Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener

Error Code 1-1

Safety Sensors are Obstructed or Not Connected

Error Description

This error occurs when the garage door opener detects that the safety sensors are blocked, not aligned or have an issue with the wires.

Symptoms of Error

When the garage door begins to close, it reverses to the open position or the garage door does not move and remains in the open position.

How to Fix

1.Ensure the safety sensors are aligned and no objects are between them

2.Check that the safety sensors are correctly connected to the garage door opener

3.If the above steps don’t resolve the error, the wires may be damaged, or there is an issue with one of the safety sensors

Error Code 1-2

Safety Sensor Wiring Issue

Error Description

Users will encounter Error Code 1-2 when the garage door opener detects that the safety sensor wires are shorted or reversed.

Symptoms of Error

The garage door opener will not close, and the opener’s lights will flash or click ten (10) times.

How to Fix

Ensure the safety sensors are correctly wired to the operator and that the bare copper is not touching.

Error Code 1-3

Door Control Wire Issue

Error Description

Users will experience Error Code 1-3 when the operator detects there is a short in the wires connecting the Wall Control to the garage door opener.

Symptoms of Error

The garage door opener works when using the remote controls and keypad, but it does not operate from the wall control panel.

How to Fix

This is best fixed by a Dealer. Use myQ Diagnostics in the myQ app, How to Use myQ Diagnostics, or find a Dealer near you by clicking on the link below.

Face Detection*

How do I set up myQ Face Detection?

1.Tap your initials on the top/left corner of the home screen to access the account menu

VDG Sense Quick Start Guide, The VDG Sense app makes it possible for anyone with a VDG Sense video security setup to access, view and control live images.

The VDG Sense app features:
– Add servers: add multiple VDG Sense servers to your app, making it incredibly easy to switch between servers and different sites.

– Select cameras: select your camera by swiping horizontally and vertically through camera locations. Recognize the video channel by thumbnail and camera name.

– View: view images full screen with one-tap zooming. Zoom in on any object by simply tapping the live video. View the next or previous camera by swiping horizontally.

– Control: control any PTZ enabled camera in VDG Sense directly, using the joystick control for pan/tilt and zooming in landscape position. Quick selection of the first six pre-sets available on your camera.

– Store: save any incident directly to your photo library by tapping on the image icon. Share the images by using your choice of any other app, such as your e-mail app or messaging app.

Chapter 1 – Introduction

This manual explains all necessary steps to create a fully functional Sense installation in a relatively short time. It assumes a simple standalone or single-server, single-client setup where all components are configured and accessible via the network:

• IP cameras are configured with IP address

• Sense Client is configured with IP address

• Sense Server is configured with IP address

Chapter 2 – Installation

To install VDG sense the VDGSenseSetup.exe is required. It can be downloaded in the support section here: https://support.tkhsecurity.com/downloads/software/ website. It is a single executable installer which include all required components to install VDG Sense as server, client or standalone system. The diagram below shows the components of VDG Sense Setup.

2.1 Versioning

After starting the VDG Sense Setup the first page the version details page. It shows version information of all included and already installed Sense components.

2.2 Standalone installation

To install VDG Sense as standalone system check both ’Client’ and ’Server’ boxes. It will install the following Sense components:

• Sense Video Manager

• Sense Plugin Manager

• Sense Monitor

• Sense Client

• Sense SystemInfo

• Postgres database

2.3 Client installation

To install the VDG Sense client, only select the ’Client’ checkbox. It will install the following Sense components:

• Sense Client

• Sense SystemInfo

2.4 Update

The installation package VDG Sense Setup is also used to update VDG Sense to a newer (or lower) version. Use the same procedure as described in paragraph 2.2 and 2.3. IMPORTANT: an update will not remove the license or settings.

Chapter 3 – Starting VDG Sense client

3.1 Signing in

Installing VDG Sense as client or standalone system will put a desktop icon with the name ‘Sense Client’. By double-clicking on ‘Sense Client’ the application will start and show the login dialog, see below.

It contains the following items:

• Server address field. Type in the IP address of the server manually.

• Credential fields. The username and password can be entered in these boxes

• Settings button (gear icon). For program language, autostart and autologin settings and videowall mode.

• Close button (arrow icon). To close the application.

• Sign In button: Sign-in on the selected server using the entered credentials

By default, a Sense administrator user is created. When logging in for the first time with this user, the password has to be changed.

Name: administrator
Password: on first login, type ‘!DVadmin’ to login. This will have to be changed immediately

3.2 Menu

After signin the main application starts by showing the top menu bar. If a user with administrator rights signs-in, no layout will be shown. If a normal user signs-in either the first layout in the layoutlist is shown or the multi-layout which is configured as default.

From left to right the top menubar functions are:

• Eye icon: Opens left menu bar for (multi-)layout and camera selectios or go to operator mode (if in settings mode)

• Tools icon: Opens left menu bar for fixed layout selection or go to operator mode (if in settings mode)

• Lock icon: Sign-off or close SenseClient

• Monitor icons: List of local and remote monitors

• Date and time: Current date and time of Sense Client system

• VDG logo: Opens ”Sense about”; displays Sense Client version and other information

Chapter 4 – License

Sense is protected by a software license key. In order to use the product a software license file is required. A Sense license only needs to be applied to the ‘Sense Video Manager’. As ‘Sense Video Manager’ does not have a graphical user interface the license needs to be uploaded and activated using the ‘Sense Client’. The license key can either reside on the license USB stick or provided by e-mail.

4.1 Upload license

Activation is the process by which the software and license key are validated to ensure that they are used in accordance with the purchased license and services. Activation is intended to protect your end user rights as well as TKH Security’s rights as a software author. Only genuine Sense software entitles you to critical updates and technical support. You may not be able to use Sense software if it is not activated.

Requirements

• A ‘Sense Client’ and ‘Sense Video Manager’ installation.

• A Sense license key, The license key file may be provided on a USB stick or by email. The USB stick should be inserted into the Sense Client platform machine (not the Sense server). You can also manually enter the license key by pasting or typing it into the license key field of the activation wizard.

• An internet connection, The Sense Client needs an internet connection for the activation process, as well as being able to connect to the Sense Server over the network. Note that the Sense Server does not require any internet connection.

Upload License key

• Open the activation wizard by selecting the server to be activated in the Sense Client config, then click the ’Enter the license key’ button.

• When the USB stick is inserted into the Sense Client platform machine, it will automatically recognize the license key file. In the other case, you will have to browse for a license key file or enter it manually.

• When clicking the ’Verify’ button, the key parameter will be sent to the Sense Server. If verification is successful, you can use your Sense software for ten days. After ten days you need to complete the activation process to continue using Sense software.

4.2 Activate license

4.2.1 Online activation

• To activate your software you will need to provide a valid email address. Your license file will be emailed to this address (so you have a backup of the license file).

• After clicking the ’Activate’ button, you need to confirm (click the ’Confirm’ button) the summary in order to complete the activation of your software.

• When successfully activated the software license status changes and will be able to display more detailed license features.

4.2.2 Offline activation

• To activate your software you need to save the activation file to a USB stick or drive. Click the ’Save’ button. You can also copy the contents of the activation file

Create license file

• To retrieve an activated license file you need to transfer the activation file to another computer with an internet connection. On this computer you can access the Sense licensing portal at the following link https://service.vdgsecurity.com/en/licensing/activate.

• After you completed the activation wizard on the Sense licensing portal, you need to save the license file to a USB stick or drive.

Save license file

• To finish the activation process, you need to load the saved license file from the Sense licensing portal (stored on the USB stick or drive). When clicking on the ‘Load’ button, you can browse to the location where you stored the license file. After that, you need to confirm the license file in order to complete the activation of your software.

• When successfully activated the software license status changes and will be able to display more detailed license features.

Chapter 5 – Configuration

Sense settings are visible after clicking the toolset icon in the topbar menu. Settings are grouped in tabs where each tab holds specific settings related to the name of the tab. Normal procedure to setup a Sense system is to work through the setup tabs from left to right, starting with the server tab and ending with user management. Configuration is normally done using the administrator account.

5.1 Servers

The server tab holds the list of servers and settings related to the selected server. From left to right you see the serverlist, the cameralist of the selected server, settings of the selected server and server statistics related to CPU, memory, network and harddisk load.

5.1.1 Add via find

Click ’Find’ in the lower left corner of the screen to open the find dialog. After a few seconds it shows the list of all servers found in the local network on all NIC’s. Select the server(s) and click ’Add’ to add selected server(s) to the configuration and close the dialog.

5.1.2 Add manually

To add a server press ’+’ in the lower left corner of the screen. Enter the server address in the dialog which appears. On a standalone system the localhost server (127.0.0.1) is automatically added to the list. In a server-client configuration the server is also automatically added to the list after login.

5.2 Devices

The ’Devices’ tab contains the list and configuration of devices for the selected server. The server can be selected just below the ’Server’ tab.

The devicelist has three sections which are from left to right:

• Cameras (camera icon): the camera list

• Intercom servers (circle with lines icon): list of intercom servers

• I/O devices (four dots icon): list of I/O devices

The settings for each camera are divided into 4 sections which are from left to right:

• General: basic settings which are needed to connect to a camera

• Advanced: advanced configuration options like multicast (if available)

• PTZ: settings to configure PTZ

• Live: fullscreen view to help focus the camera

5.2.1 Add via find

Click ’Find’ in the lower left corner of the screen to open the find dialog. After a few seconds it shows the list of all devices found in the local network on all NIC’s, including intercom servers and IO devices. Select one or more cameras and click ’Add’ to add selected devices to the configuration. It will also close the dialog.

5.2.2 Add manually

Click ’+’ in the lower left corner of the screen to add a new device to the list.

Fill in all required fields to connect to the device. See the list below for explanation on the fields.

• Name: The name of the device.

• Location: The name of the physical location of the device.

• Type: The device type or brand.

• Address: The IP-address of the device to which Sense should connect.

• Port: Port number, is set to default value when devicetype is chosen.

• Video channel: Video channel number of the device, mainly used if the device is an encoder

• User name: Username used to connect to the device.

• Password: Password used to connect to the device.

• Max Storage (hours): Maximum storage duration in hours (for video). This is set to 99999 by default, which means no maximum. If the storage volume is not big enough to hold the maximum storage duration, the actual duration will be less. This can be verified in the ’Statistics’ tab.

• Angle: Video rotation if the camera is mounted under a different angle.

• Codec: Videostream codec Sense tries to get from the camera. NOTE: some cameras require the codec to be configured in the webpage of the camera (first stream).

After all configuration fields are configured correctly, click ’Apply’ in the lower right corner of the screen. After a few seconds you should be able to see a live video. If not please review the settings again.

5.3 Layouts

The ’Layouts’ tab is used to configure all (multi)layouts. Layouts are required in operator mode to display live or recorded video or to handle (video)events. They can be custom designed to fit the needs of the operator. The layout manager is a floating menu which is used to create, delete and modify (multi)layouts and panels.

A layout consists of panels where each panel has a specific function. For instance a panel can be used to display live video, recorded video, for playback controls, display a map or to manage events. The complete list of panel types can be found in the ’Type’ list in the panel section of the ’Layout Manager’.

5.3.1 Live layout

Click ’New’ in the ’Layouts’ menu of the ’Layout Manager’ to create a new layout. The following dialog will appear:

The icon in the lower left corner of each panel identifies the type of panel. A panel for live video uses a camera icon as identifier. After selecting a panel its properties are shown in ’Panels’ section of the Layout manager. To assign a deviceto the selected panel select the camera in the ’Device’ list of the panel properties.

This layout is composed of 4 playback-panels in the upper half of the layout and controls to actually playback recorded video in the lower half of the layout. The panel to display recorded video uses a triangle icon as identifier. To assign a camera to the selected panel select the camera in the ’Devices’ list of the panel properties.

5.3.3 Multi layout

A ’Multi Layout’ is a group of layouts with a pre-defined monitor selection. It is used to quickly assign several layouts at once to different monitors. They are also used to define the default layouts to be displayed based on which user logs in. User Management is explained in the next paragraph. To create a multi-layout click ’Edit’ in the ’Multi-Layout’ menu of the layout manager, a dialog will appear:

On the left side of the dialog is the list of multi layouts. Multi layouts can be added, removed or edited by using the buttons below the list of ’Multi layouts’. On the right side of the dialog is the list of monitors which belong to the selected multi layout. Monitors can be added or removed using the buttons below the ’Layouts’ list. The monitor numbering corresponds to the monitor numbering in the ’Monitors’ tab and in the top menu bar. To assign a layout to a monitor, select one from the list of layouts next to the monitor icon.

NOTE: a layout only can be assigned once per multi layout. When finished click ’Close’ to close the dialog.

5.4 User Management

Sense User Management provides the administrator with the ability to control the access level of users logged in to Sense. Access to cameras, servers, layouts and several other functions can be limited to groups of users. In Sense this is called a ’User Group’, it holds the privileges of users assigned to the group.

5.4.1 Users & Groups

The Users & Groups is used to manage all user related settings in Sense. On the left side of the screen is the list of user groups. User groups can be added, removed or modified using the buttons below this list user groups. On the right side of the screen are the privileges which can be assigned to the groups, divided by subtabs.

Click the ’+’ button at the bottom below the group list to add a user group, a dialog will appear where the name of the user group can be entered. Click ’Ok’ in the dialog to create the group and close the dialog.

Create User:

Click ’+’ below the ’Users’ list in the users subtab to create a user. A dialog appears where the name, username and password of the user can be entered.

Create Devicegroups:

A devicegroup can be used to define which cameras a user is allowed to see. Open tab ’Device groups’ to create a device group. On the left side is the list of created device groups. Using the buttons below the list devicegroups can be added, removed or edited. On the right side is the list of cameras.

Click ’+’ below the ’Device group’ list to create a devicegroup. A dialog appears where the name of the device group can be entered. Use a meaningful name, like ’All cameras’. Click ’Ok’ to close the dialog and add the device group to the list. Drag and drop the cameras from the cameralist on the right to one of the device groups on the left.

Assigning privileges:

If all users, layouts, multilayouts, servers and devicegroups are created, they can be drag and dropped to the corresponding usergroup. To remove a privileges select the it in the usergroup and Click ’-’ below the grouplist or press the ‘Delete’ button on your keyboard.

As an example, the steps to create a usergroup called Operators should look like this:

• Create a user called Operator

• Drag the user Operator to the left panel and drop it on the usergroup Operators

• Fixed Layouts; To which fixed layouts should the user(group) have access. Fixed layouts are the layouts that can be found under the toolbox menu, e.g. Database search

• Functions; To which functions should the user(group) have access. As a minimum, the ‘Live Access’ function should be added.

5.4.2 Configure Autologin

Sense Client can be configured to launch automatically on Windows startup after windows login and to automatically sign in to a Sense Server. Click on the gear wheel in the lower left corner of the dialog to open the settings.

On the left side of the screen the default server, username and password can be entered. On the right side the program language, videowall mode and the automatic startup/sign-in option can be selected. In normal operation the videowall mode does not need to be selected and is beyond the scope of this guide.

Live mode or ’Home’ is accessed by clicking on the ’Eye’ icon on the upper left corner of the screen of the first monitor. This icon is also used to open the menu where Layouts can be selected. See below for a screenshot of a multi-monitor setup. The left monitor shows a layout with live cameras and the right monitor shows a layout for playback. These are the layouts which are created in ’Setup’ mode.

6.1 Live Menu

The Live menu is accessed by clicking on the ’Eye’ icon on the upper left corner of the screen of the first monitor.

It contains the following items:

Multi Layouts: Contains all multi-layouts available for the currently logged in user. Selecting a multilayout will update all monitors which are configured in this multi-layout.

Layouts: Contains all layouts available for the currently logged in user. Selecting a layout will update the currently selected monitor with this layout.

Cameras: Contains all cameras available for the currently logged in user sub-grouped by location names. The subgroup ’All locations’ contains all cameras. Selecting a camera will update the currently selected videopanel in the layout.

Camera Sequences: Contains camera sequences for the currently logged in user.

6.2 Tools Menu

The tools menu is accessed by clicking on the ’Toolbox’ icon on the upper left corner of the screen of the first monitor.

It contains the following items:

Search, provides functions to search for events and meta data.

Face Match, eventlist for use with FaceR algorithms.

Database, maintains person list for use with CarR and FaceR algorithms. FaceR and CarR are available if included in the license.

System Alerts: Opens the System Alerts dialog

Video Tags: Opens the Video Tag dialog

6.3 Live

This layout contains 4 live panels where each panel has the following features:

• Record icon: in lower left corner, indicates panel is live panel. Red means video is recorded, grey means video is not recorded.

• Audio icon: next to recording icon, only visible if there is audio available in the videostream (panel should be selected to hear the audio).

• Camera name: next to recording icon, the camera name.

• Motion detected: next to camera name, indicates current motion percentage.

• Digital zoom: hold left mousebutton or scroll and move cursor over the videopanel.

• Double click on panel: switch panel to full screen or switch camera to ’Target panel’.

• Green focus ring: currently selected panel, used for camera selection.

6.3.1 PTZ controls

The live control panel is needed to control PTZ domes. This panel can be pre-configured in a layout, but it will also automatically appear after double-clicking on a videopanel with a PTZ device; the camera will be displayed in fullscreen mode including the dome controls. PTZ commands are sent to the camera which is currently selected (which has a green border).

To pan and tilt a ptz camera hold the left mouse button and move the cursor over the orange dial. The speed of the dome is determined by the cursor-distance from the center of the dial; close to the center the speed is low, on the outside the speed is high. The buttons have the following functions:

	Focus near.
	Focus far.
	Switch auto focus/auto iris on.
	Zoom in.
	Zoom out.
	Open iris.
	Close iris.
	Go to preset ‘Home’.
	Go to preset 1.
	Rotate 180 degrees.
	Save the current position of the dome as a preset.
	Go to the selected preset in the list.
	Opens the preset dialog to give each preset a name.

6.4 Playback

Below is an example of a playback layout that has been created for an operator.

This layout contains 4 playback panels and playback controls where each panel has the following features:

• Green triangular icon: in lower left corner, indicates panel is playback panel

• Audio icon: next to recording icon, only visible if there is audio available in the videostream (panel should be selected to hear the audio).

• Camera name: next to recording icon, the camera name.

• Date and time: next to camera name, date and time of displayed image.

• Digital zoom: hold left mousebutton or scroll and move cursor over the videopanel.

• Doubleclick on panel: switch panel to full screen or switch camera to ’Target panel’.

• Yellow focus ring: currently selected panel, used for camera selection.

Select a different camera
Pick a camera from the cameralist and drag it into a playbackpanel. If the panel stays black or doesn’t change, press the playback button.

Alternatively, it’s possible to first click on a playback panel, and it will get the yellow focus ring. After that, if a camera from the cameralist is selected it will be displayed in this panel.

Fullscreen

Double click on a panel to go to fullscreen playback or to display a camera on a designated target panel. Double click again to return the previous layout.

6.4.1 Playback control options

For creating a playback layout, it is needed to create a layout that contains one or multiple panels of the type ‘Playback’ and a control panel to start/stop the playback. There are two types of playback controls available. By default when creating a playback layout or when switching to fullscreen playback, the timeline panel is used.

Option 1: Timeline panel (Preferred)

The red line indicates what the current time/date is of the playbacked recording and thumbnails of the recordings are visible. Also motion detection (if enabled for this camera) is shown in yellow.

	Playback backwards. For streaming codec video only I-Frames are played back.
	Stop playback.
	Playback forward.
	Opens the export image dialog, explained in section 6.3.3 on exporting images.
	Quick option to go to a specific date
	Motion detection
	Option to visualize motion detection, vca events or audio on the timeline panel

Option 2: Alternatively, there is the playback controls panel as a legacy option with the more classic control buttons and slider.

The Playback controls panel is needed to playback recorded video. It has two trackbars where the top bar has a resolution in days and the lower trackbar has a resolution of 24 hours (of the selected day). The playback speed is set by the ’red-green’ trackbar; red is backwards, green is forwards. The date and time on the left and right side of the trackbars correspond to the first and last recorded video image of the cameras which are visible in the layout. From left to right the function of the buttons are as follows:

	Go to the beginning of the recordings of the cameras visible in the layout.
	One minute backwards
	One frame backwards.
	Playback backwards. For streaming codec video only I-Frames are played back.
	Stop playback.
	Playback forward.
	One frame forwards.
	One minute forwards.
	Go to the end of the recordings of the cameras visible in the layout.
	Opens the date time search panel.
	Set export range, explained in section 6.3.2 on exporting video.
	Enable audio playback and set playback speed to realtime (panel should be selected to hear the audio).
	Opens the export image dialog, explained in section 6.3.3 on exporting images.
	Opens the export video dialog, explained in section 6.3.2 on exporting images.

6.4.2 Export Video

Recorded video (and audio) can be exported to different media: CD/DVD, hard drive, USB stick or network share. A single export can hold video of multiple devices from multiple servers in the same time range. The video itself is exported in Sense format, it is not transcoded to a generic codec. The export comes with a program called ’Sense Player’ which is used to playback exported video. To open the ’Export Video’ dialog press the export video button in ’Playback Controls’.

• Servers: List all available servers. Select server to display cameras from that server in the cameralist.

• Cameras: List of cameras from the selected server. Select camera and press ’>’ button to add camera to list of cameras for export.

• Start and end time: Start and end time of the export. These can be modified regardless whether the range of the trackbar is used or not.

• Reset date and time: Reset time range to initial values.

• Full date/time range: Set time range to beginning and endtime of all recorded video of selected cameras.

• Include Sense Player: Include software to playback the exported video, on by default.

• Export location: Destination of the exported video. Click ’…’ to select the path. The free space of the export location should be large enough to hold the exported video.

There are three ways to define the time-range of an export; The easiest option is the timeline:

Timerange using timeline:

Click on the time indicator and hold the mousebutton to select the timerange. This timerange can be changed dynamically, it can be moved, enlarged or shrinked to fit the timerange you wish to export.

After selecting a time windows, the Export image icon will change into a movie export icon (see image below)

Other options are using the playback controls trackbar or using the start/endtime edit box in the video export dialog:

Timerange using trackbar:
Click ’E’ in the playback controls panel, three buttons appear: ’Start’, ’Clear’ and ’Stop’. Set the thumb-tracker to the starting point of the video that needs to be exported and click ’Start’. Set the thumb tracker to the end point of the video that needs to be exported and press ’Stop’. The time range is highlighted in green. To clear the selection and start over click ’Clear’. After defining the range open the video export dialog. The camera(panel) which has focus will automatically be added to the list of export cameras. The begin and end time are also set automatically.

Timerange using dialog:
Video can also be exported manually without using the trackbar to define the time range. When opening the export video dialog it will use the current playback time (position of thumbtracker) and set the start time with current time minus 5 minutes and end time to current time plus 5 minutes. The camera(panel) which has focus will automatically be added to the list of export cameras.

6.4.3 Export Image

Single images or snapshots can be exported from recorded video to a PDF document which can be stored to any windows storage location (like a USB stick). The PDF report contains information about the exported image and comments which can be entered in the Export Image dialog. To create a report select the playback panel with the image that should be exported and click the ’Disk’ button in the ’Playback Controls’ (see section 6.3.1 on playback controls), it will open the dialog as shown below:

To access your account from your mobile, you will need to download the VOSKER app from Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). HOW CAN I BUY A PLAN?

HOW DO I HAVE ACCESS TO THE FREE PLAN?

V150
V150 comes with a 7-day free trial of our Elite plan that will give you unlimited photos and 40 HD photos for those 7 days. After your trial period is over, you’ll need to purchase a plan in order to keep receiving photos in your VOSKER mobile app. Photos will still be saved to the MicroSD card of your camera.

V200 and V100
You will receive a 30-day free trial of the Elite Plan where you will be receiving unlimited photos and can request up to 40 HD photos. After the first 30 days of activation on the unlimited plan, your camera will automatically transfer to the free plan where you will receive up to 100 photos a month. You can purchase a paid plan any time after the 30-day trial period is over.

HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD HD PICTURES ON MY PHONE?

Users are now able to get HD versions of their most valuable photos upon request through the VOSKER App or the VOSKER web App*. Each plan has a limit of HD photos to download per month.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT TRANSMISSION PLAN FOR MY SECURITY CAMERA?

Cellular security cameras are great for monitoring your property remotely. A notification pops on your phone, and you see somebody lurking around the construction site, the farm or the marina.

This system relies on the data plan you will pick and the number of photo alerts included. But how do you know how many alerts you will need? We listed points to consider when buying your data plan.

Photo count

First, consider how many alerts you expect the security camera to send in a month. Since the data plan works off of a monthly allotment, having a rough estimate based on the 7-day free Elite trial is a good place to start.

Location may come into play. The number of photo alerts may vary if you installed the camera in an empty yard or at a busy security gate. How many times will people or vehicles pass in front of it daily? Also, consider other elements moving in front of the camera, like animals, objects, and weather conditions.

Settings

On top of this first estimation, you must factor in your camera settings preferences in the VOSKER app.

• Delay: The smaller the delay between movement detection, the more the camera will take and send photos. The default delay is 60 seconds.

• Sensitivity: If you set it high, the camera is more sensitive to movement and will send more photos. This feature is interesting for reading gauges, thermometers and other precision monitoring. It is also likelier to send false detections like moving grass or branches. The default setting is medium.

• Capture mode: The V150 and V200 offer different modes, like photo, time-lapse and hybrid. The hybrid mode mixing time-lapse and photo can drastically increase photo alert consumption. By setting the interval to every hour for a time-lapse running for a month, you end up with roughly 720 photos. If you add the monthly estimate of movement detections, the Elite plan, with its unlimited photo alerts, is highly recommended.

• Multishot: It is possible to set the camera to take two (V150) or three (V200) photos in a row. If your camera usually detects 300 movements per month, the multishot mode may double or triple the photo count.

How many alerts are you ready to miss?

The camera saves photos on the memory card when you reach the monthly photo alerts. You will no longer receive any alerts in the app until the photo count is reset in the next monthly cycle or unless you upgrade the plan. It all comes down to your tolerance of missing information.

Test it

A great way to evaluate your needs is to get a monthly Elite plan for your newly installed camera. Test the settings to fit your objectives and monitor the photo count. Once the setup is steady, and you get a good idea of the photo alerts, it is time to pick the best plan and frequency.

Remember: you can save 10% off the monthly fee by purchasing the data plan annually.

Flexible

You may use your security camera at different locations or for different purposes within a year, affecting the number of photo alerts you need. Remember, you can upgrade or downgrade a monthly data plan*. It is also possible to suspend its auto-renewal if you need a break.

WHAT CAN I DO TO INCREASE MY PHOTO QUALITY?

Understanding the different features and specifications of the VOSKER cameras can help you choose the right camera at different locations on your property that will give you optimal photo quality. If you intend to set up the camera in a place where the objects are moving fast, choose a camera with a faster trigger speed to ensure the camera activates and captures the photo before the object moves out of the frame. Cameras that have a larger motion detection range are a better choice when you want to set up the camera over larger areas.

Here are a few things that you can do to improve the quality of your photos:

1.Try to place the camera in a sufficiently elevated area. Make sure your camera is perfectly upright and facing North or South to avoid glare or overexposure as the sun rises or sets.

2.Place the camera about 30ft (10 meters) away from your target to have a good field of view. This will also ensure that the camera is out of your target’s reach.

3.Make sure to have something in the background to get a good reflection of the infrared light for low light conditions or night photos.

4.Check if there is anything obstructing the camera lens or if the lens is dirty. Make sure the field of view is clear from as much clutter as possible. Trees and plants can catch a lot of flashes and affect the overall photo quality.

WHY DOES THE RESOLUTION ON MY PHOTOS SEEM TO BE LOW?

The photos that your camera is sending have been compressed to facilitate the transfer. You will find the best photo quality directly on the SD card inside your camera. You can also get HD versions of your most valuable photos upon request through the VOSKER App or the VOSKER web App*. Each plan has a limit of HD photos to download per month.

WHY DO MY PICTURE COLORS LOOK WRONG?

If the color of your photos looks different than normal, E.g., Pink or Black photos, check the following:

• Verify the battery level. If the battery health is insufficient, the camera may lack the necessary output to power the LEDs when it’s dark. Check this article to know more about battery drainage: Why is my battery life so short?

• Install the camera in front of a wall, in a dark room, and trigger it. If the flash works and the night photo is clear, the problem was the installation. Check the installation of your camera in your target area. Make sure that there is something in the background, such as trees or bushes, that can reflect the light emitted by the camera’s LEDs.

• Try a long format of your SD card. Check this article on How to format SD/MicroSD card

• Perform a firmware update on your camera. Go to our Support Section and choose your own model to check for the instructions of the firmware update specific to your camera.

CAN’T LOGIN TO MY VOSKER ACCOUNT.

If you are having issues logging in to your account, verify the following:

STEP 1

• Verify if the email address you are typing is the one you have registered with VOSKER.

• Erase and retype your Email address and password and click ‘Login’.

STEP 2

• If the step above did not work, click on ‘Forgotten Password’.

• You will receive an email with the password reset link, using which you may change your password and login into your account.

STEP 3

• If the issue still persists, delete your VOSKER app from your phone and reinstall it.

• Retry to login using your email and password.

HOW TO CHANGE MY CAMERA SETTINGS FROM THE VOSKER APP

To change your settings for your VOSKER camera, navigate to the “Settings” tab. Make sure to choose the correct camera from the dropdown option at the top. You will see 3 sections: Basic, Cellular Setup, and Advanced Options. You can change the settings under these sections according to your preference and select the “Apply Changes” button to save the settings.

Note: Our cameras communicate with our servers based on the frequency set in your settings. For example: If your Transfer Frequency is set to 2 times a day, this means that your camera will communicate with our servers 2 times a day.

VOSKER SENSE

VOSKER SENSE is a tool that uses artificial intelligence and enables you to easily differentiate between a human and a vehicle in a photo. All our plans, except the Free plan, include VOSKER® AI Tools. So, make sure you are on one of our paid plans. To use this feature,

• Navigate to the “Gallery” tab on your VOSKER app.

• Select among the tabs at the top to filter the photos with vehicles and the photos with humans. You can also select multiple tabs at the same time.

HOW TO DELETE CAMERA FROM ACCOUNT

• Every camera added to your account will remain visible on your app even if it’s inactive. If you need to delete your camera, please contact VOSKER to make the necessary changes.

The Optiview VMX/+ performs real-time facial recognition on up to two (2) / thirty two (32) channels simultaneously. The software captures and analyzes facial features to determine gender, age, expression, glasses, mustache, and mask, and then can record the faces and store the associated structured data. The server also filters incoming video to display faces that match target features. Facial recognition requires a camera that supports this feature.

WHEN WILL THE VMS STOP BEING SUPPORTED AND AVAILABLE?

The Optiview VMS 2018 will continue to be available to download for a limited amount of time, but will no longer be supported going forward.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF DEVICES THAT CAN BE PUT ON THE FREE VMX OR THE PAID VMX+?

The free version of the Optiview VMX will suport up to 64 cameras. If the user wants to view more than 64 cameras, they will have to purchase the Base License, and then an additional license for each channel, up to 512. See which software is right for you here!

HOW DO I UPGRADE FROM THE VMS TO THE VMX?

The VMX software is completely different from the Optiview VMS and a user can use both. The VMX Server and Client software can be downloaded here.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VMX SERVER AND THE VMX CLIENT?

The server runs all the services and acts as a connection point for several clients that will handle the management of configurations, devices and integrations of one or more IP devices supported by the Optiview VMX software.

IF I HAVE THE SERVER DOWNLOADED, HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THE CLIENT?

The client can be downloaded using the link from the server user interface labeled as “Download Client”. I also made a link for the Client software within our technical support page which Georgia can use, to make a download link within the product resource page.

CAN I DESIGNATE THE NUMBER OF CAMERA CHANNELS BEING SEEN BY THE VMX PER DVR OR NVR?

Yes. The number of cameras “actually” in use by a device (for example a 32-ch NVR) can be designated within the VMX so that it can only sees the actual number of channels. For example, If a user is using multiple 32 channel recorders but not all channels, the VMX can be set to not count every single channel and maximize the usage.

CAN I DESIGNATE THE NUMBER OF ACCESS CONTROL DOORS BEING SEEN BY THE VMX?

No. Whatever the maximum number of doors that an access control panel can handle is, that is what the VMX will see. For example, a CAS-4MC (4 door master control panel) is expandable up to 64 doors, so this will max out the VMX. No additional master control panels can be added unless the user upgrades to the paid version of the Optiview VMX.

CAN I SEE THE HUMAN TEMPERATURE DETECTION & NOTIFICATION SOLUTION ON THE VMX?

The human temperature text overlay can be seen at LIVE mode and Playback mode at the VMX.

HOW MANY USERS CAN ACCESS THE VMX AT ONE TIME?

1. If the device shows offline on the mobile phone app, we need to make sure the NVR is connected to the network perfectly or not

2. Go to your monitor that is connected to NVR, and check out the network status first navigate to this path first: “Menu–Network–Basic–P2P”, also check whether the device status is online or not,

3. Also go to “Menu–Network–Advanced”,to disable the “PPPoE”

4. if it shows: network disconnected, plz enable the DHCP in this path ” Menu–Network–Basic-TCP/IP ” and click “Apply”. After that, go back to “P2P” and check if the device status is online or not

5. if you connect the network cable to the lan port or the lan/wan port of the router

We need to connect it to the lan port of the router,plz take a photo of yours for us to check.

If the P2P show connect the network ,but the app also show the offline,please delect the device on your APP and re-add it again.

6.APP Share Device

APP Share Device

One device is linked to one user only. The NVR system can only be controlled by one authorized account, which can share the device with others to prevent attack or hacking.

There are 2 ways to share the device with others. For the admin user, please follow the instructions to share the device:

1.Type in “Menu Icon ” and navigate to “Devices”

2. Tape on “… ” > “Share”, You can select a single channel to share or select the entire NVR system to share

3.Share the device by typing in the user name you want to share and selecting the function as needed.

• The other user needs to register a Guard Viewer APP account and provide the user name for sharing.

• After that, when this user login the APP will find the device by navigating to “Devices”.

4.Share the device by generating a QR code

• Create a sharing password and set the valid period

• Click “Generate”, your APP will generate a QR code

• Other users can use the APP to add the device by scanning the QR code you sent

Four cameras or above not working is an abnormal situation. It’s not only a camera issue, which could be related to a power supply or power splitter connected to four cameras

If the power supply or power splitter connected to four cameras is broken, which can’t provide power supply to cameras

Step:

(1）Change to another 12V 2A Power Supply to connect to four cameras to have a try. We wanna make sure if this is related to the power adapter

(2) Change another 1-4 way power splitter to connect four cameras to have a try. We wanna make sure if this is related to the power adapter

( If you do not have another power adapter/splitter, plz use the other power adapter connected to the four normal cameras)

After making sure the power supply or power splitter is doing fine, but still no camera image, which means the DVR box is having issue

The Verkada People Analytics feature uses powerful edge-based camera capabilities to detect people, faces, and filter results based on clothing color, apparent sex, and the presence of backpacks.

Enable the People History feature

All Verkada cameras perform people detection (as outlined above) out of the box. However, to enable more complex analytics, such as the ability to search for faces or for people by clothing color, you must enable the People History feature.

Required. To begin, you need to enable the feature globally on your org and then on the individual cameras.

Enable People Analytics Globally

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Admin.

2.Under Privacy & Security, click Feature Manager.

3.Under People Analytics, toggle on People History, Person Attributes, and Face Detection.

2.Click Settings > Analytics.

3.Under Analytics, toggle on People History and other analytics features that you may need. You can only toggle on (enable) Person Attributes, Face Detection, Occupancy Trends) when People History is enabled.

Enable Vehicle Analytics

Vehicle analytics uses powerful edge-based capabilities to detect vehicles and filter results based on vehicle color and body type.

How it Works

Vehicle analytics leverages the cameras’ powerful onboard processing capabilities to detect the presence of, and analyze the properties of vehicles as they appear in the frame. As vehicles are detected, high-resolution images are taken and analyzed for vehicle objects. Selected images are then sent to Verkada’s cloud-based Command platform, where users can filter historical clips for vehicles and search for specific vehicles by time, date, body type, and color.

All Verkada cameras perform vehicle detection (as outlined above) out of the box. However, to enable more complex analytics, such as the ability to search for vehicles by color and body type, vehicle analytics must be turned on.

Verkada’s people and vehicle search features use advanced computer vision functionality to identify people and vehicles within the camera’s field of view and quickly find relevant events.

The Verkada Command UI enables instant video replay previews and trajectory viewing. Trajectory analysis features offers possibilities for searching events, reduces the number of missed detections, improves the detection distance, and reduces duplicates.

View people and vehicles over a timeline

Required. You must have Site Viewer and Site Admin access to view the Motion tab under the camera feed. Learn more about Roles and Permissions for Cameras.

You can view people and vehicles detected by a Verkada camera within historical footage.

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

2.Select a camera to view its feed.

3.At the top, click Motion.

4.To the right, click Show Pathsto toggle on/off the feature.

5.(Optional) Make a selection on the video player grid to search for motion in the area.

6.(Optional) Use the People, Vehicle, and Date filters for more granular searches

7.Hovering over a thumbnail with the people or vehicle filters selected gives a count of the people/vehicles in the frame with an option to archive the clip. By hovering over the previews, you can see tracks for the individual.

8.Click the thumbnail to be taken to the exact time in the recorded footage.

Note: People and/or vehicles will only be available if these objects were detected in the camera frame.

View people trajectories (paths)

The people trajectories feature visualizes the paths of people moving through the scene to show the trajectories of each detected person.

Trajectories drastically improve the motion event recall and enable the cameras to recognize people and vehicles at a further distance. For a detailed breakdown of the detection ranges of each model, see the People Analytics Guide.

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

2.Select a camera to view its feed.

3.At the top, click Motion.

4.(Optional) Make a selection on the video player grid to search for motion in the area.

People and Vehicle History Search

You can use the People and Vehicle search pages to:

• View all people and vehicles detected by every camera in your organization (org).

• Quickly and easily determine where and when a particular person or vehicle was last seen.

• Find new faces that have been seen.

• Configure notifications when specific people or vehicles are sighted.

Search for people

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras > People > All.

You should see all the people sighted on cameras in your org.

2.(Optional) Select a thumbnail to play a clip from the camera where this person was sighted.

Each thumbnail image includes a timestamp and the camera name.

3.At the top left, find the search bar. You can filter for options, such as camera, site, date, and so on to narrow your search.

Search for People of Interest

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras > People > People of Interest.

2.Select a person to open that person’s profile page and show thumbnail images for all the instances where that person was last sighted. Each thumbnail image includes a timestamp and the camera name.

3.(Optional) To view the corresponding video footage, simply select the thumbnail image that is of interest. If the face spotted was not this person, on the thumbnail, click the Kebab icon (three dots) and select Not This Person.

4.(Optional) You can use the search bar to filter options to narrow your search.

Set People of Interest notifications

To receive alerts for People of Interest, you need to set up alert based on your events.

IMPORTANT

People of Interest replaced Profiles on June 8, 2023. Profiles created before this date that were not set as People of Interest are not automatically send People of Interest alerts.

To set up notifications when a particular face is detected:

1.Select the profile.

2.At the top left corner, click the Kebab icon (three dots).

3.Select Add to event.

Create People of Interest

You can manually create a People of Interest group by uploading an image of a person’s face.

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras > People > People of Interest.

2.At the top right, click Person of Interest.

3.On the Add Person of Interest dialog, upload a photo that clearly shows the face of only one person (close up). The image should be in JPG or PNG format and should be less than 15 MB in size.

If you upload a picture that resembles an existing Person of Interest, then Command may suggest a profile to add the image to. If the picture you are uploading is of an existing profile, you can select it to add this picture as a reference photo. If not, select create a new one to continue creating a new profile.

Merge People of Interest

Sometimes duplicate People of Interest are accidentally created. If this happens, you can merge the duplicate People of Interest profiles.

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras > People > People of Interest.

2.At the top of each face, use the checkboxes to select the Person of Interest you want to merge.

3.Click Merge.

The profiles should merge and you will be prompted to view the new profile for that person.

Create a new tag to People of Interest

You can create and add tags to People of Interest to group similar profiles together.

Type the desired name and at the bottom of the tag list, click Add Tags.

Select the profile and select the plus (+) icon (adjacent to the Tags button). If the tag you want to add is already in the list, you can select it from the list.

Filter a tag name

1.On the People of Interest page, click Tag (from the search menu) to filter by tag name.

2.Select the desired tag. This should show all associated profiles.

Remove a person of interest

1.Select a person.

2.At the top, click the Kebab icon (three dots) and select Remove this person.

Search for vehicles

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras > Vehicles > All Vehicles.

You should see all vehicles sighted on cameras in your org.

2.Select a camera thumbnail (where the vehicle was sighted) to play a clip.

3.At the top left, use the search bar to filter options, such as camera, site, date, and so on to narrow your search.

Search all license plates

If you have Verkada License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras installed, you can use the All License Plates and License Plates of Interest tabs.

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras > Vehicles.

2.At the top, click All License Plates or License Plates of Interest.

◦ If you click All License Plates, you can view all the license plates detected in your org and how often they were detected. By clicking a license plate, you can see all recent sightings of this plate.

◦ If you click License Plates of Interest, you can receive alerts whenever this plate is detected. You can also view all license plates that have been marked for notifications and filter out all other plates.

Enable Occupancy Trends

The Occupancy Trends feature provides organizations with an estimate of the foot traffic at critical locations within their facilities. These estimates can provide valuable insights for optimizing staffing, adjusting hours of operation, and or tracking the

performance of marketing and promotional activities.

Note: This feature is available on the CB52, CB62, CM42, CD32, CD42, CD52, and CD62 models.

Installation guidelines

Required. To use this feature, People Analytics must be enabled. To do so, follow the steps in the People Analytics guide.

For best performance, we recommend these installation guidelines during the installation of a camera where Occupancy Trends will be enabled:

• Choose a one-directional path. Occupancy Trends works best in locations, such as doors and hallways.

• Install the camera 8–12 ft (2.4–3.7m) away from the digital line.

• Position cameras no more than 40–60˚ vertically from the location of the digital line.

• Minimize occlusions and constructions between the camera and the line.

• Ensure good illumination and visibility on both sides of the line. Users must be visible on both sides of the line for at least one second.

1.In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

2.Select a camera and go to the camera’s Settings page.

3.Scroll down to the Analytics section and toggle on Occupancy Trends.

4.Return to the camera’s main page and select the Analytics tab (displayed below the camera’s live feed).

5.Click Add lines to open the wizard.

6.Click and drag the camera view to draw a line across the screen. You can draw multiple lines, though data from all lines are aggregated.

7.Click one of the dropdown menus (displayed near the arrow heads) to change how users crossing in that direction are counted. The Ignore option indicates that users crossing this direction are not counted by the Occupancy Trends feature.

8.After you set up the lines for the camera’s view, click Save.

View Occupancy Trend estimates

1.After enabling Occupancy Trends and establishing your line, you can view results by returning to the device’s Analytics tab. This tab presents all the estimated In and Out counts for your selected period of time. You can hover your mouse over individual bars to see the numeric count for that period.

2.Select the time filter dropdown to increase the range of time covered by the Occupancy Trends graph, up to a maximum of 365 days.

3.Select the period of time filter dropdown to choose the period of time that each column in the graph represents.

Export Occupancy Trends results

You can export Occupancy Trends results as a .csv file.

1.Go to the Analytics tab.

2.At the top right, click Downloadto automatically download your occupancy trends results.

Before referring to this Mobile Application User Guide you must first download and install the mobile application on your mobile device (smartphone or tablet). You can find links to the mobile application(s) on www.alibisecurity.com at the following location:

Choose the link that applies to your mobile device (iOS or Android), download and install the application. Now you are ready to install and activate cameras.

Adding a Camera via the Mobile Application

The first time you login to the mobile app, you will be required to enter your username (email address) and the password. The screen will show no cameras attached to your account. You will tap the ADD A CAMERA button on the screen and it will prompt you with a second screen to select the type of camera you want to install. Tap on the ADD A CLOUD CAM section. The next screen gives you specific instructions for attaching your cloud-enabled camera to the network.

IMPORTANT: All POE and WiFi cameras must be hard-wired into the local network in order to be discovered by the Alibi Cloud VS solution.

Once you have connected the cameras you want to add to your Alibi Cloud VS account to the local area network (LAN) you can tap the CONTINUE button.

The next screen displays your local network and the cameras that are available to be added to your Alibi Cloud VS account. Tap on the camera you want to add from the list and you will be prompted to name your camera. Type in a name and choose CONTINUE. The system will ping your camera, check credentials and firmware and connect. You should receive a confirmation screen that the camera has been added then tap CONTINUE.

To get your WiFi camera to the wireless network you need to connect the WiFi camera to the wireless network. Tap the zone that the WiFi camera is in. This takes you into the camera selector menu. Select the WiFi camera you want to attach and it will open the camera settings menu. On the main screen, under NETWORK

SETTINGS, it will say “Not Connected”. Select this menu option and it will take you into the wireless connection menu, displaying the available wireless networks to connect to.

Tap the wireless network you want to attach the camera to. A login screen will open up asking you to enter the password for the wireless network. Enter the password and tap CONNECT. The system will them connect the camera to the wireless network and you will receive a confirmation screen once completed.

IMPORTANT: You must keep the WiFi camera hard-wired into the network until you login to the wireless network. Once you get the camera connected to the wireless network you can disconnect the network cable and move the camera anywhere that it has good signal strength to connect to the wireless network.

From the main dashboard screen you have two different ways you can add additional cameras to the system. If you want to add another camera to the same zone you already have setup, simply choose the zone on the main dashboard screen, it will pull up the camera viewing screen and you will tap the Gear icon at the bottom. It will open a screen that shows the current camera(s) assigned to the zone and the ADD A NEW CAMERA button.

Tap this and follow the instructions to add a new camera.

The second option for adding cameras is to setup a new zone and add the camera to that new zone. From the main dashboard screen tap the + icon in the top left corner of the screen. This opens a new screen that lets you setup a new zone. Click ADD CAMERA and then follow the instructions for adding a new camera explained previously in the User Guide.

From this menu you can also move cameras currently signed to other zones to the new zone. Simply click SELECT CAMERAS FROM OTHER ZONES. A menu will be displayed showing cameras already attached to other zones. Click the camera and move it to the new zone.

After adding the camera you will be taken to the main camera dashboard screen. From this view you can see all of the zones cameras have been assigned to. Select the zone you want to view. An individual thumbnail view of the camera(s) will be displayed. Tap on the gear icon at the bottom of the screen and it will take you into the settings selection menu. Choose the arrow to the right of the camera that you want to adjust settings for and you will be taken to the settings menu for that specific camera.

In the settings menu for each camera you are able to control the following settings:

• Network settings (WiFi cameras only)

Account Settings and TouchID/FaceID Login

After you login and add a camera to your system you can select the home button at the bottom left of the screen and it will take you to your main dashboard. Select the person icon in the upper right and this will take you into account settings. From here you can enable remote support access, enable/disable push notifications and enable TouchID/FaceID login for easy access when starting the app.

To view live video from your cameras connected to Alibi Cloud VS, go to the main dashboard screen and select a zone to view. Once in the zone, you will see the individual cameras with ‘play arrows’ located in the middle of the thumbnail screen. Simply click on one of the ‘play arrows’ in the thumbnail and live viewing will begin. You will see the word “LIVE” appear at the top of the thumbnail viewing screen. Want to enlarge the viewing area? You can simply turn your smartphone/mobile device to landscape to view in full screen mode.

Viewing recorded video (footage) is also very simple. You will need to choose the zone that includes the camera you want to review recorded video from. This will display thumbnail views of all cameras associated with this zone. If you have multiple cameras in a zone, you will see multiple thumbnails. To view recorded footage for

a specific camera tap the clock/rewind icon ( ) at the bottom of that camera thumbnail view. This will take you into the footage screen where you can review a timeline, with detection events noted. You can scroll through the timeline by scrolling with your finger, either up or down, to view events that happened earlier or later in the day.

There are settings and features on the playback screen that make it easier for you to review video quickly. You can select the ZOOM IN button and the timeline will appear in smaller increments, allowing you to find events more accurately. You tap the MORE menu and adjust playback up to 10x faster than normal.

The SUMMARY button at the bottom of the page lets you create and download a video summary of detection events for the last 24 hours. Simply click the button and the app pulls detection events into a single summary video. Creating a summary takes a few minutes and once completed you have the option to save the 24 hour summary to your mobile device or share it with someone else.

If you have forgotten your password or simply want to reset it, you can easily do this by selecting the person icon in the main dashboard screen. Click ‘Logout’ and on the next screen tap ‘Log In’ and it will take you to the main login page. Tap ‘Forgot Your Password?’ and a screen will appear for you to enter your email address. By entering your email address and clicking ‘Send’ you will receive a secure link in your email to reset your password for your Alibi Cloud VS account. This new password will be valid in desktop and mobile apps.

Before connecting and operating your device, please be advised of the following tips:

●No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the device.

●The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains. The openings shall never be blocked by placing the device on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface.

●For certain models, ensure correct wiring of the terminals for connection to an AC mains supply.

●For certain models, the equipment has been designed, when required, modified for connection to an IT power distribution system.

1.1.1 Why is there a part of channels displaying “No Resource” or turning black screen in multi-screen live view?

Reason

1.Sub-stream resolution or bitrate settings is inappropriate.

2.Connecting sub-stream failed.

Solution

1.Go to Camera → Video Parameters → Sub-Stream . Select the channel, and turn down the resolution and max. bitrate (resolution shall be less than 720p, max. bitrate shall be less than 2048 Kbps).

Note

If your video recorder notifies not support this function, you can log in to the camera, and adjust video parameters via web browser.

2.Properly set the sub-stream resolution and max. bitrate (resolution shall be less than 720p, max. bitrate shall be less than 2048 Kbps), then delete the channel and add it back again.

1.1.2Why is the video recorder notifying risky password after a network camera is added?

Reason

The camera password is too weak.

Solution

Change the camera password.

Warning

We highly recommend you create a strong password of your own choosing (Using a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.) in order to increase the security of your product. And we recommend you reset your password regularly, especially in the high security system, resetting the password monthly or weekly can better protect your product.

1.1.3 Why is the video recorder notifying the stream type is not supported?

Reason

The camera encoding format mismatches with the video recorder.

If the camera is using H.265/MJPEG for encoding, but video recorder does not support H.265/ MJPEG, change the camera encoding format to the same as video recorder.

1.1.4 How to confirm the video recorder is using H.265 to record video?

Solution

Check if the encoding type at live view toolbar is H.265.

Reason

The video recorder uses the same IP address as other devices.

Getting Started: Enabling the VIVOCloud service in your device

Before starting using your VIVOCloud application, you must enable the VIVOCloud service in your devices. This guide will teach you how to enable the service in easy to follow steps:

Step 1. Log in to your NVR device using its username and password.

Step 2. Click on the gear icon to access the NVR configurations.

Step 3. In the Settings interface, select the System tab and click on “VIVOCloud service”.

Step 4. In the VIVOCloud service interface, you will see a “blue” button (old interface) or a “gray” button (new interface). Clicking this button will enable the VIVOCloud service on your NVR.

After clicking it, the NVR will start connecting to the VIVOCloud server and register the service (this might take 1-2 minutes depending on your internet connection). Once the connection is established and the device is registered in the cloud system, a QR code and Device ID will be displayed below.

Note: If you are using the local console, follow the same steps, as both the Local and Web interfaces are the same in this regard.

Now the device service is enabled and you should be able to add it to your VIVOCloud application.

In order to add your VIVOCloud compatible device, you need to use a QR code or Device ID. This document will explain where to find this information:

Enabling the Service:

Before being able to add your device using its QR code or Device ID, you need to ensure that the VIVOCloud service is enabled. First, log in to your NVR device using its username and password.

Once you have accessed the device, click on the gear icon to access the NVR configurations.

In the Settings interface, select the System tab and click on “VIVOCloud service”.

Once finished, you will be able to see your NVR cameras in the VIVOCloud application.

VIVOCloud devices are not limited to just NVRs; cameras that support remote connection using VIVOCloud are also available. The principle of using a QR code/Device ID is the same as with the NVR. For clarity, follow these steps to obtain the QR code/PCode of the camera and add it to the VIVOCloud application:

Step 1. Access the camera web interface using its IP.

Step 2. Go to the camera configuration by clicking on the “Configuration” tab.

Devices configured in your VIVOCloud account can be shared to other users (e.g family members, coworkers, etc.). To share devices please follow the next steps:

Step 1. Login into your VIVOCloud phone application.

Step 2. Click on the option icon to access the application account configuration menu.

Step 3. Once the menu has appeared, click on the “Share devices” button to start the sharing process.

Step 4. In the “Share devices” interface, click on the “SHARE YOUR DEVICES” button to start registering the email of the user you want to share the devices with.

Step 5. Type the email address (user with VIVOCloud account) which will be accessing your device and click the “NEXT” button to continue.

Step 6. All of your configured devices will be listed. Select the devices to share by checking them, click “Done” when finished.

Once the device is ready to share you will see a green arrow notification.

Step 7. Click on the “Share” button to share the device to the configured email account.

Important note: You can only share the same device with up to 4 accounts.

2. Check that the VIVOCloud service is enabled

Before using the VIVOCloud service you need to enable it, in order to do so please go to your ND device configuration, under System > VIVOCloud service and be sure that the service is enabled. There should be a green mark next to the blue button, if you don’t see this mark you might need to click on the button to enable the service.

3. Check that the ND device was only added to one account:

Each ND device can only be registered to one VIVOCloud account, if you already added to another account and try it to add it into a new account you will find the following error:

If you want to delete the NVR from any other accounts because you want to add it to a new account you just need to disable the service in the configuration page and re-enable it, this will automatically remove the device from the original account. Please note that if the device was previously shared to another account it will also be removed.

4. Network and configuration check

The VIVOCloud service server is very strict with its data management so you need to be sure that everything is properly configured otherwise you might not be able to enable the function on the ND. Before enable the service please be sure to verify the following:

a) Time zone needs to match your access point time zone:

b) ND IP must be properly configured and the device internal network access point needs to have access to WAN.

c) Be sure that your NVR is up to date and is using the latest firmware available

The AXIS Camera Station service

The AXIS Camera Station service restarts often

The server can be overloaded which causes a long task queue and might also corrupt the databases.

• Check the resource management of your system to verify if AXIS Camera Station or any other application is using a high number of resources.

• Run the database maintainer, go to Tools in the AXIS Camera Station user manual.

• If none of above helps, escalate the issue to Axis Support. Go to Escalation process.

Common issues

Can’t contact the camera
AXIS Camera Station can’t contact the camera. The listed cameras are not added.	• Check that the camera is connected to the network, that power is connected, and that the camera is up and running. • Go to Configuration > Add devices and try to add the camera again.

Installation was canceled
The installation was canceled by the user. The listed cameras are not added.	To add the cameras, go to Configuration > Add devices.

Fail to set password on camera
Password can’t be set for the listed cameras.	• To set the password manually, go to Configuration > Devices > Management. • Right-click the camera and select User Management > Set password.

Device can’t be added

If the device was used in a different system before being added to AXIS Camera Station, a factory default of the device might be required

• If the device still can’t be added to AXIS Camera Station, try to add the device to AXIS Device Manager.

It’s possible to add another device model.

• If the device is a new product or has a newly released firmware, it can be a compatibility issue. Make sure to use the latest AXIS Camera Station software version.

Can’t update device firmware through AXIS Camera Station

If it’s not possible to upgrade the camera from its webpage:

No devices found

AXIS Camera Station automatically searches the network for connected cameras and video encoders but can’t find any cameras.

• Check that the camera is connected to the network and that power is applied.

• If the client, server, or cameras are located on different networks, then proxy and firewall settings might need to be configured.

◦ Change the client proxy settings if the client and the server are separated by a proxy server. Go to Client proxy settings in the AXIS Camera Station user manual.

◦ Change the NAT or security system if the client and the server are separated by a NAT or security system. Ensure that the HTTP port, TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) port and streaming port specified in AXIS Camera Station Service Control are allowed to pass through the security system or NAT. ◦ Change the server proxy settings if the server and the devices are separated by a proxy server. Go to the Proxy settings section in Service control general in the AXIS Camera Station user manual.

Repeated message “Reconnecting to camera in 15 seconds”

This might indicate that:

• The network is overloaded.

• The camera is not accessible. Check that the camera is still connected to the network and that power is applied.

• There are problems with the graphics card.

Possible solutions for graphics card problems:

• Install the latest graphics card driver.

• Upgrade to a graphics card with more video memory and higher performance.

• Use the CPU for video rendering.

• Change the video and audio settings, for example by optimizing profile settings for low bandwidth.

Common issues

Continuous recording is not enabled
Continuous recording is not enabled for the listed cameras.	• To enable continuous recording, go to Configuration > Recording and events > Recording method. • Select the camera and turn on Continuous.

Can’t record on the specified drive
The recording storage (local storage or network storage) can’t be configured.	• To use a different storage, go to Configuration > Storage > management. • Add the storage and configure the storage settings for the cameras that should record to the storage.

Fail to install the AXIS Video Content Stream application
This error message is displayed if the application can’t be installed on a camera that supports AXIS Video Content Stream.	• To install the application manually: • Go to Configuration > Devices > Management. • Right-click the camera and select Install camera application.

Recording doesn’t start

Recordings don’t start or stop after a few seconds.

It could be that the disk is full or that there is too much intruding data.

• Check the “Camera Recording Storage” in the Server Configuration Sheet to make sure there is free space and no intruding data.

• Increase the storage limit for AXIS Camera Station.

• Allocate more storage to the storage pool. Go to Configure storage in the AXIS Camera Station user manual.

Recording gaps during continuous recording

Along with gaps, AXIS Camera Station alarms show “Recording errors”.

The gaps can occur for several reasons, such as:

• Server overload

• Network issue

• Camera overload

• Disk overload

Check if the recording gaps happen on all the cameras.

If it doesn’t happen to all the cameras, check if the camera is overloaded. Questions that will help to sort things out:

• How often does the gap occur, every hour or every day?

• How long is the gap, seconds or hours?

• At what time does the gap happen?

Possible solutions:

• In the task manager or the resource manager of your server machine, you can confirm if one of the hardware resources is used more than normal. If the disk shows signs of overuse, we advise adding more disks and move several cameras to record on the new disks.

• You can also reduce the amount of data written on the disk (Video settings, ZIP stream, FPS, resolution). Keep in mind the throughput estimated by axis.com/support/tools/axis-site-designer.

Can’t play exported recordings

If Windows Media Player doesn’t play your exported recordings, check the file format. Exported recordings can be played using Windows Media Player (.asf files) and AXIS File Player (.asf, .mp4, .mkv). For more information, see Play and verify exported recordings in the AXIS Camera Station user manual.

Note

The player will automatically open all recordings that are in the same folder as the player.

AXIS File Player is a free software for video and audio playback. You can select to include it with the exported recordings, no installation is required. To play recordings, open AXIS File Player and select the recordings to play.

Recordings disappear

Recordings are only saved for a specified number of days. To change the number of days, go to Configuration > Storage > Selection.

If the storage becomes full, recordings will be deleted before the designated number of days.
To avoid a full storage, try the following:

• Add more storage. Go to Configuration > Storage > Management.

• Change the amount of storage space reserved for AXIS Camera Station. Go to Configuration > Storage > Management.

• Reduce the size of recorded files by changing for example resolution or frame rate. Go to Configuration > Devices > Stream profiles.

•

◦ Use H.264 video format for recording, M-JPEG format requires much more storage space. Go to Configuration > Devices > Stream profiles.

◦ Use Zipstream to additionally decrease the size of the recordings. Go to Configuration > Devices > Stream profiles.

Failover recording issues

The failover recording is not recording on the server after the connection is restored.

Possible causes:

• The bandwidth between the camera and the server is insufficient for the recording to be transferred.

• The camera was not recording to the SD card during the disconnection.

•

◦ Check the camera’s server report. See axis.com/support/troubleshooting.

◦ Make sure that the SD card is working fine and there is recording on it.

• The camera time has changed or shifted since the disconnection.

•

◦ Make sure that the NTP is synchronised correctly for future recordings.

◦ Synchronize the camera’s time with the server or setup the same NTP server on the camera as on the server.

The failover recording implementation in AXIS Camera Station is not designed to handle the following use cases:

• Controlled server shutdowns.

• Short interruptions less than 10 seconds in the connection.
