First, you will need to download the application onto your phone and ensure that the DVR is connected to a network. We will focus on obtaining information from the DVR first before we focus on the phone app.

On the DVR, log into the menu, and then navigate to Setup → Network → NAT. Make sure that NAT is enabled (Note: you will not be able to access the cameras if NAT is not enabled).

Once NAT has been enabled, a QR code should appear. But if it does not, do not worry. The QR code can be found in a different section. If the QR code does not appear in NAT, it can be found in Information → QRCODE. If you are unable to scan the QR code for some reason, there will also be a serial number that will show below the QR code that you can input manually in order to connect your cameras to your phone.

Now that the QR code/serial number has been found we can focus on setting up the application. The first screen that you will see when you open the app is the Live View screen. From here, you can add a device by hitting the icon in the upper-right hand corner. This will open up the Server List.

Hit the Plus sign to add your device by either scanning the QR code or manually inputting the serial number that shows beneath the QR code. If you choose the QR code method, tap on the square icon and enable access to the phone’s camera. Then, the only other information that will need to be filled out is the name of the device (can be anything you would like for it to be), the username, and the password of the DVR.

Save the device, and go back to the Live View screen so that we can add your device to the Live View windows. There should be a drop down list underneath the windows that show your online devices. Just select the device, and the cameras should show on your screen.

We have put together this guide for setting up a remote connection with our DVR’s so you can view your cameras from potentially anywhere in the world. We can also offer our Remote Setup Service where we can setup the system for you, this utilises port forwarding on your router and has the added ability to view your cameras from a Mac or PC.

We will need to set up the DVR firstly so that it is ready to accept the connection from your devices this can be done by the follow steps:

First and foremost connect the the DVR to your router either by an ethernet cable or, if running an ethernet cable is a problem, using a wireless extender which will allow your router to pick up the DVR or a Home Plug can also be used.

On the DVR click on the “Start” button in the bottom left corner of the screen and then choose “Settings” from the popup menu, if you can not click it or its greyed out login to the DVR and try again.

Then under Network click on the TCP/IP link.

On this page make sure there is a tick in the “Obtain an IPv4 address automatically” box and then click apply to save.

Once done, across the top of the page next go to Port and change the HTTP port and Server port to any 3-5 digit number but they need to be different from each other, then click apply to save.

Across the top again to UPnP and make sure there is a tick in the “Enable” box and that the map type is set to auto and click apply to save.

Across the top again to NAT and make sure there is a tick in the “Enable” box and click apply to save.

Leave this page open on your screen as we will be needing the serial number which you can see under the QR code or the QR code itself later in the guide.

We will now be covering the app side of the connection.

So on your phone or tablet go to your app store, either the Appstore on Apple or Play store on Android and search for an app called “SuperLive Plus”, it should look like the image below and install the app and agree to any permissions it asks for.

When first starting the app it will take you through several tutorial pages which you can either swipe through or tap on skip and you will then be presented with the option of local or start, tap on start.

You will now need to fill in the details for the connection: The serial number (which can be found on the NAT page which should still be displayed on your monitor). A nickname of your choosing the default being “DeviceName1” and Username/Password for the DVR. If you would like to bypass this stage tap on skip in the top right corner which will then take you to the Live page.

From here you can access other features or add multiple DVRs or connections if you have them by doing the following. Tap on the three little lines in the top left to bring up the options menu and choose Server List.

This page will list all of you connection entries, but at the moment there should be none. Tap on the “+” symbol in the top right and choose scan code and then scan the QR code on the DVR monitor screen, the information will be filled out for you for adding a device. You may still need to fill out the device name, user and password for the DVR and tap save.

Once saved it will take you back to the server list page and there should now be one entry. All things being well the little wifi icon on the entry should be a solid and green colour at which point you can tap on the back arrow (top left) to take you out and back to your live camera feeds. If the Wifi icon is a grey/black colour and searching then tap on the pen and paper icon to allow you to edit the information and make sure all information is correct re-typing the password for example is a common culprit as is auto correcting on the user and domain host and save to keep the settings.

The Shepherd is a VIVOTEK tool that allows you to find the cameras in your network, perform basic configuration, manage firmware upgrades and collect basic information (firmware version, model name, ports, etc.). To install this software in your PC please follow the next steps.

Step 1. Go to the official webpage of the Shepherd application: https://www.vivotek.com/Shepherd

When trying to run the Shepherd 2 on a server we get this error message.
Is there a way of disabling the graphics adapter requirements of the Shepherd2 as the server seem to not have the required graphics adapter support.

ROOT CAUSE

Shepherd2 is required to use OpenGL to draw the program layout.
For most of computer with the latest graphic card driver, it could support OpenGL.
For some did not support OpenGL, customer could use Windows built-in DirectX(ANGLE library) instead.
However, using DirectX is not default behavior of Sheperd2.
Customer needs to add new environment variables QT_OPENGL=angle into system to let shepherd2 use DirectX.

SOLUTION

For Windows 10:
1. From the Desktop, right-click the very bottom left corner of the screen to get the Power User Task Menu. From the Power User Task Menu, click System.

For Windows 7:
1. Click the Start button, right-click the Computer option in the Start menu, and select Properties.

2. Click the Advanced System Settings link in the left column.
3. (Please refer following figure) In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab, then click the Environment Variables button near the bottom of that tab.
4. In the Environment Variables window (pictured below), create a new environment variable, click New.
5. Enter the variable name =  QT_OPENGL and variable value= angle to let shepherd2 use DirectX.

VIVOTEK cameras have the capability of using packages that integrates specific functions (such as Smart VCA, Trend Micro, VIVOCloud, etc). If you need to upload one package into several devices please follow the next steps:

Step 1. Open the Shepherd application.

Step 2. Select the cameras that you want to upload the VADP package. For this tutorial we will use a MD9560-H. 

For easy manipulation you can us Ctrl + Right-click to select multiple cameras or Ctrl + A to select all the devices on the list.

Step 3. Select Maintenance icon , a “Authorize devices” message will popup before allowing access to the interface. Please be sure to enter the camera’s username and password.

Note: If all the cameras are using a different password you wont be able to apply a batch upgrade because the software will be using the same authorization information for each camera. 

Step 4. In the Maintenance interface, go to the “Upload package” tab. Change the “Save package to” option to “Internal storage”.

Step 5. Select the VADP package to be uploaded in the cameras:

Once you select the package the Shepherd application will automatically start uploading the package to all the cameras. Once finished you will see a “Uploaded successfully” message in the interface indicating that the package was applied successfully.

The VIVOTEK Shepherd application is a powerful tool that allows users to manage and find their VIVOTEK IP cameras in the network. In order to find your device please follow the next steps:

Step 1. Launch the Shepherd application on your computer.

Step 2. Once the application is running, it will automatically scan for all the devices in your network automatically. 

Note: You need to be sure that the PC that is searching the cameras is connected to the same subnet otherwise your camera wont be displayed in the Shepherd interface. 

Step 3. In the search bar, type the name of the camera you are trying to find. If you have cameras with the same model and want to find one specific device, you can type the device MAC address (unique hardware address).

The Shepherd application upgrade function can help you not only upgrade one camera but a batch of cameras. If you want to apply a new firmware to all your devices at once please follow the next steps:

Step 1. Open the Shepherd application.

Step 2. Select the cameras that you want to upgrade and be sure that all the cameras selected are the same model (every firmware is unique to each model so uploading it to a different model will not work). For this tutorial we will use a MD9560-H. 

For easy manipulation you can us Ctrl + Right-click to select multiple cameras or Ctrl + A to select all the devices on the list.

Step 3. Select Maintenance icon  and then enter the camera username and password.

Note: If all the cameras are using a different password you wont be able to apply a batch upgrade because the software will be using the same authorization information for each camera. 

Step 4. In the Maintenance interface, go to the “Upload firmware” tab and then click on the “Select firmware to upload” button to upload the camera firmware file. 

After everything is ready, click on the “Apply” button to start the upgrade process:

In case your system environment power off frequently or have a large number of cameras (complex network), we strongly suggest to batch upgrade the camera into a small group such as 5 ~ 10 cameras per group to avoid an unexpected abort upgrade process.

Step 5. Wait for the upgrade process to be finished. If you want to check the progress you can click on the   icon. 

When it shows  and the upgrading progress next tot he model name as 0% it means that the file is being uploaded to the camera. Once the progress bar gets to 50% it means that the file was successfully uploaded to the camera, and now the camera by itself will install the new firmware.

Once the camera finished the update you will see a message next to the model name showing that the camera update was successful.

IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT power off the devices during the upgrade process.

The Shepherd application can export the configuration of a camera and apply it to other cameras. In order to do so please follow the next steps:

Step 1. Click Shepherd.exe to run the application, once open it will automatically detect all cameras in your network.
Step 2. Select a camera to export its configuration as a *.csv file.

Step 3. Click on the “Batch camera setup” icon. 

Step 4. Select “Create a template from camera” to create a file that will contain the configurations of the camera you previously selected. 

Once the configuration has been loaded into the Shepherd interface, select the sections you would like to configure in the other cameras and click the “Export” button to create a new template.

Note: You can also modify settings if needed. 

Step 5. Go back to the “Home” interface and select the cameras which you want to apply the configuration template created in the previous step.

Step 6. Go back to the “Batch camera setup” section and select “Import a template”.

Step 7. Select the template configurations that you wish to apply to the cameras. Once selected, click on the “Apply” button to save. Note: If you want to apply all the configurations to all the devices click on the “Apply all”  button.

You may now unplug the computer from the LAN port of the PoE adapter,and connect the wired network(internet modem/router) into the LAN port.

1Check the System Requirements

Operating System:

Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Linux, or Mac OS X.

Web Browser

Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Apple Safari. IE browsers are not recommended.

2Log In to the Device

Before configuring the device, you need to access the PharOS configuration interface. Follow the steps below:

1)Connect your PC to the device.

2)Set the IP address of your PC as static IP address on 192.168.0.X subnet (X ranges from 2 to 253, e.g.192.168.0.10)

3)Launch a web browser on and enter the management IP address of the device (192.168.0.254 by default) in the address bar to load the login page of the PharOS configuration interface.

4)Use admin for both of User Name and Password. Select the appropriate language from the Language drop-down list. Read and agree the terms of use, then click Login.

5)Create a new username and password for network security. Click Finish to log in to the PharOS.

3Set Up the Wireless Network

You can use the Quick Setup wizard to quickly configure your device step by step. Choose the suitable operation mode according to your network environment and follow the step-by-step instructions.

3.1Access Point

Follow the steps below to configure the device as Access Point mode:

1)Go to the QUICK SETUP page, select Access Point and click Next.

2)In the LAN Settings section, specify the LAN IP address and the Subnet Mask for the device. Then, click Next.

3.5AP Router

Follow the steps below to configure the device as AP Router mode:

2)In the WAN Connection Type section, specify the connection type according to your need and click Next.

The device supports three types of the WAN connection, including PPPoE, Dynamic IP and Static IP. You can contact with your ISP to confirm your WAN connection type.

»PPPoE

Select PPPoE and click Next, then the following page will appear. In the WAN Settings section, specify the parameters that are provided by your ISP and click Next.

»Dynamic IP

Select Dynamic IP and click Next. In this type, the device will obtain a WAN connection automatically without any WAN configurations.

»Static IP

Select Static IP and click Next, then the following page will appear. In the WAN Settings section, specify the parameters that are provided by your ISP and click Next.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Minimum Computer System Requirement

Note

UPS is required for SERVER to prevent database or video record file corruption caused by power outage.

Install Gsurf_Prov2

Click to run the GSurf_Prov2 installation .exe file. Follow the instructions in the prompted windows to start installation. Once done, the following screen will show.

Uninstall Gsurf_Prov2

To uninstall GSurf_Prov2, in your windows PC Start Menu->Programs->GSurf_Prov2, click on Uninstall GSurf_Prov2 to start uninstall process. Or you could uninstall the program from your windows PC’s Control Panel.

Login Gsurf_Prov2

Click to run GSurf_Prov2. The login page will prompt for your User ID and Password. The administrator User ID and Password are both set to admin at the factory default settings.

For security purpose, please change the password after the first time you log in to GSurf_Prov2.

CONFIGURATION GUIDE

After installing GSurf_Prov2, it must be configured for your network cameras or digital video servers. This section describes how to configure GSurf_Prov2, as well as how to set up auto recording, motion detection, alarms and etc.

Add/Delete Device

Add Device

1. In the top Menu bar, click System Config(C)->Device Config(D).

2. In the Device Configuration window, click Add button to open the Add Device dialog.

3. Enter the device information.

4. Click Ok to save.

After successfully adding the device, users could view the video by double-clicking on the device name in the Device browser panel on the left.

Delete Device

1. In the top Menu bar, click System Config(C)->Device Config(D).

2. In the Device Configuration window, Select the device to be deleted.

3. Click Delete button.

4. Or, users could click on Delete all to remove all the added devices.

Search Device

The built-in Search tool in GSurf_Prov2 allows user to search all the DVS and IP Camera devices within the same LAN. Additionally, users could modify the IP address for the devices listed in the searching result.

Search Device

1. In the GSurf_Prov2 toolbar, click  button.

2. In the Search tool, click Search button. A list of surveillance devices will display in the list.

Configure Time Schedule

The GSurf_Prov2 time schedule is used to configure automatic recording. Up to 10 schedules can be configured.

1. In the top Menu bar, click System Config(C)->Time Schedule(T).

2. The Time Schedule window will pop up.

3. Select a schedule on the left panel to be configured.

4. Select the time frame for each day. The scheduled interval will be marked in blue (See Figure 10: Gsurf_Prov2 Time Schedule).

5. Click Save button.

6. To assign this schedule to a device, open System Config->Device Config.

7. Select the device from which you would like to record the videos.

8. In Auto Record option, select schedule from the drop down list.

9. Click Save button.

This channel will then start automatically recording as specified in the designated time schedule.

Additionally, users could select Batch Configuration to assign the same time schedule to multiple devices.

Configure Alarm Triggers and Rules

Grandstream’s network cameras and digital video servers support motion detection and alarm events. They can report motion detection or alarm events to GSurf_Prov2. On the GSurf_Prov2 side, it can be configured to take actions, i.e., to notify such events to users. Up to 10 rules can be set up with different alarm actions. The instructions below will assist you with this setup.

1. In the top Menu bar, click System Config->Alarm Config.

2. In the Alarm action rule window, select the Alarm index and configure the action.

3. Click Save button to save the settings.

4. To assign this alarm action rule to a device, open System Config->Device Config.

5. In the Device Configuration window, select the device.

6. Select an Alarm action rule for Motion Detection to monitor motion detection events. Or to Other Alarm for other types of conditions such as abnormal reboot.

7. Click Save button to save the settings.

Additionally, users could select Batch Configuration to assign the same alarm action to multiple devices.

Local Configuration

Click on System Config->Local Config to configure software and local recording features for GSurf_Prov2.

Software Configuration

Configure log reserved days, video window layout and startup options.

Device Configuration

Click System Config->Device Config, the device configuration window will prompt for users to add, delete and edit devices. Once a device is selected, users could configure the device properties, alarm action rule and record option.

Language Display

In the GSurf_Prov2 interface, users could switch language at any time. Go to System Config->Language and select the language to be displayed.

In the video display window, click on the Record button  to start recording.

Automatic Record

The automatic record will be running in the background. The recording time is specified in Auto Record option after selecting device under System Config->Device Config.

Note

It is recommended to use continuous recording only and not combine it with recording by motion detection.

Replay

Both the GSurf_Prov2 Replay v2 (GXV36xx Models) and Replay v3 (For GSC36xx Models) tools provide the ability to replay recorded videos. These tools also provide a search function which allows you to perform a search based on start time, end time, IP address, channel and etc. To replay the recorded video, in the top Menu bar, go to Manage Tool->Replay Tool to open the Replayer. Select time, device, channel, file type and disk to search the video. Then click on the video file to play.

In the Replayer, users could also open up the Time selection tab to specify the recorded files by filtering the start time. All the configured start time will be marked in green in the time chart.

Electronic Map

E-map is an important feature in video surveillance system to provide users a visual overview of the cameras in your installation. A map is an image file on which you place cameras and views. GSurf_Prov2 supports an electronic map for users to identify the locations of your cameras and the status of their alarms.

To configure E-map on GSurf_Prov2, open the map browser by clicking  in the toolbar.

Add Map

1. In the Electronic map browser, right click and Add map option will show up.

2. Choose a map image from your local PC to upload. Then it will be displayed in the electronic map field.

Note

The supported image files are bmp, jpg or gif. GSurf_Prov2 will display the electronic map in full resolution. And the users can use the scroll bars to view the whole image.

Add Device to Map

1. Open your map in the main window.

2. In the left side panel, click on Device browser so your devices will show in the list.

3. Click on the device/channel, drag and drop it to the preferred destination on the map.

4. An icon with the device name and the channel number will now be shown on the map. Right click on the icon to change the icon settings.

Set Alarm on Map

1. After adding the device to the map, go to System Config->Alarm Config to configure alarm action rule. Make sure the option Warning on the E-map is checked.

2. Go to System Config->Device Config. Select your device and configure the alarm action rule set up in step 1.

3. When GSurf_Prov2 receives an alarm report, the corresponding icon on the map will flash in red .

Lock/Unlock Map

To avoid changing the positions of cameras on the map accidently, the users can lock the map after adding all devices.

Right click on the map, lock/unlock option will be available in the pop-up menu, When the map is unlocked, users could drag devices to the map. When the map is locked, double-clicking on the camera will open up a new window for real time video from this camera.

Remove Device from Map

On the map, right click on the icon and click Delete Icon to remove the device from the map.

Remote Configuration

The IP Camera devices can be remotely accessed via web browser. Select a device on the left side panel and click on Remote config tab to access the camera’s web GUI.

PTZ Control

In the toolbar, click  to open PTZ control panel. If the connected devices are PTZ cameras or have a PTZ device connected, users can use the console to adjust the focus, brightness, contrast, rotating speed, IRIS, and also pan/tilt the devices.

Note

Before using PTZ control, PTZ device needs to be set up in RS-485 port and properly configured.

Video Monitor

Individual View

Drag the device from the device browser to video display window to watch the video immediately.

Group View/Patrol Mode

1. In the tool bar, click on  to open the Group view panel.

2. Drag the device in Device browser panel to the group in Group view panel.

3. Right click on the group to configure the group attributes. Check the Allow Patrol option and configure Pause time which is the patrol interval for the group.

4. Click Ok to save the settings.

5. In the top Menu bar, click on Play Mode->Patrolling View to start playing videos from different groups in a loop.

Synchronize Device Time

In the top Menu bar, click on Manage tool->Synchronize device time. Then users could sync up the device time with local PC time.

Convert Video Format

The recorded video is saved in H264 format, which might not be supported by certain video players. An AVI converter tool is provided in GSurf_Prov2. Click on Manage tool->AVI Conversion Tool to open the converter. Add video to be converted and the output file will be saved in the configured directory in AVI format.

User Management

The GSurf_Prov2 administrator can add, modify and delete users as well as issue users different privilege levels.

1. Click on Manage tool->User Manage.

2. In the User Manage window, users could add, edit and delete users. A list of configuration authorities is provided so each user could be assigned with different privileges.

Import/Export Configuration

The GSurf_Prov2 configuration can be imported or exported for backup and restore purpose. Click on System Config->Export/Import Config to open the import/export window. Users could also select the configurations for the backup file.

GSURF_PROV2 TRANSFER SERVER

The GSurf_Prov2 embedded transfer server can cooperate with client side to effectively reduce the workload on the front-end cameras. The surveillance system utilizes the transfer server as the medium to monitor the devices in a distributed manner.

Server Side

1. Open the Transfer server from Manage Tool->Tran Server. A login window will pop up.

2. After login, click on Config->System Config to open the following server configuration window. The listening IP address is the PC’s IP address. For the port number, it is recommended to use default value or big value.

3. Click on  to open the search tool.

4. In the search tool, press Search button to get a list of devices in the same LAN.

5. Select the devices in the result list and click Add.

6. Those devices will then be displayed in the transfer list.

The main display window will show the traffic status when the traffic starts.

Client Side

The client side is the GSurf_Prov2 RTSP server.

1. In the Device browser, right click on RTSP server.

2. Click Server Config to add devices to the local list.

GSURF_PROV2 FILE SERVER

Server Side

The file server can provide the record files in local disk to other hosts within the network for search, download and replay. To configure the GSurf_Prov2 as the file server, go to Manage Tool->File Server. Click on the Configuration button to set up listening IP and port. Then start the server.

Client Side

The client side is the replay tool in the GSurf_Prov2. Go to Manage Tool->Replay Tool to open the Replayer. Once searching is done, the record files can be downloaded and played locally.

HTTP SERVER

GSUpgrade Tool

This HTTP server allows user to configure a local HTTP server on the same machine running GSurf Pro which can be used to execute firmware update from this tool on IP Cameras either one by one or via batch upgrade by selecting them all. Go to Manage Tool->HttpServer. Click on the Configuration button to set up listening IP and port. Then start the server.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How many cameras does GSurf_Prov2 support?

A: The GSurf_Prov2 can support up to 10 groups or 72 channels cameras at the same time. However, when using HD camera (720P and up), the maximum number might be limited by the PC processor. When displaying multiple videos, the GSurf_Prov2 will adjust the display to secondary stream to increase system resource efficiency. If users click on one of the video, the display will be automatically converted to primary stream for better quality.

Q: Does GSurf_Prov2 have any requirement on the PC where it’s installed?

A: Yes. Please refer to section [Minimum Computer System Requirement] for details. Before installing GSurf_Prov2, it is recommended to evaluate the system requirement (network traffic, disk space, file directory and etc.).

Q: Is there any requirement on the transfer server?

A: In most of the cases, the transfer server will have large amount of network flow going through. Therefore, it is recommended to use the machine with Gigabyte network interface card.

Q: What are the factors that might affect the disk space?

A: The disk space is mainly affected by the primary stream bit rate. Normally HD video will take more space than standard definition video.

Q: I have configured the alarm action on GSurf_Prov2 already but I still didn’t get alarm. Why?

A: Besides configuring alarm action on GSurf_Prov2 side, the alarm has to be activated on the camera side and configured to report to the alarm center. Users could configure this by directly accessing camera’s web GUI or via GSurf_Prov2’s remote configure interface.

Features

1. What is cloud storage? The cloud storage function is a video storage function developed based on technologies such as moving object detection. Cloud storage is divided into two types: alarm recording and full-day recording. Alarm recording refers to triggering the camera alarm when someone passes by or moves in front of the camera. The camera will automatically record and upload it to the Cloud Space Security Center for encryption. You can use it with confidence.  

 Tips:  

 (1) As long as you purchase the cloud storage service, you can get the corresponding cloud space. For example, if you purchase the cloud deposit monthly package, the cloud space is valid for one month, and it will take effect from the successful purchase. 

(2) The storage time of cloud storage video is determined by the type of package. If you open the cloud storage package for 7 days, the camera cloud video storage period is 7 days. The 30-day cloud storage package will be opened, and the camera cloud video storage cycle will be upgraded to 30 days. If you open a 7G/month cloud storage package, then your cloud recording storage space is 7G in this month. After the space is full, the cloud recording will not be saved. The stored video will be saved for one month.  

 2. What are the advantages of cloud storage? The video is safer: the video cloud storage can not steal, safe and reliable. More efficient viewing: generate alarm video in real time, quickly grasp the alarm situation, the video is clear and smooth without jamming Cloud storage: Camera video is stored in cloud space, no space limit, and unlimited cloud storage space.

Cloud deposit purchase and exchange

1. How to buy a cloud storage package?
Click the device list device “Cloud Record” button or the personal center “Cloud Mall” – enter the “Cloud Mall” interface – click “Switch” to select the device you want to purchase and the device channel – automatically select the appropriate package for you after the selection is completed – click ” Buy now” Once the payment is complete, you can turn on device cloud storage.
Tips:
(1) Cloud deposit does not support return and exchange after purchase, and does not support refund;
(2) The purchase channel of the device is determined by the number of package service channels of the system. If the system has only two packages with service channels 1 and 3, then the device can only select 1 or 3 purchase channels;
(3) Cloud storage is only bound to the purchase user. The device with the cloud storage is deleted and added to the new account. Under the new account, the device will not be able to continue to enjoy the cloud storage;
(4) Cloud storage is purchased by a single device and device channel, and multiple devices and multiple channels need to correspond to multiple cloud storage packages;

2. How to redeem the cloud storage package?
Click the device list device “Cloud Record” button or the personal center “Cloud Mall” – enter the “Cloud Mall” interface – click “Use Cloud Saver Code” – enter the “Scan Redemption Code” interface, scan the valid redemption code – enter the ” redemption code” Payment interface” – select the device and channel to be redeemed – click ” redeem now” to complete the redemption

Tips:
(1) The number of channels for redemption Device is determined by the number of package service channels generated by the redemption code (if the service channel of the redemption code package is 4, then the device can only select 4 channels to purchase);
(2) There is no charge for redeeming the code cloud storage package using the redemption code, and each redemption code can only be used once;

Cloud video introduction

 Cloud recording is divided into two types: alarm recording and full-day recording.

Alarm recording, the video will only be uploaded when the camera detects that someone has passed, the item has been moved, and the camera alarm is triggered.

Recording all day means that the camera will automatically record when it is online and in good condition. It will be detected 24 hours a day and encrypted and uploaded to the cloud space.

The cloud video is lost when the device is deleted, the device uploads the cloud video, and the device is disconnected from the network. The device and the server are disconnected. The device network bandwidth is insufficient and the device cannot upload video and video.

After purchasing the cloud storage package, the cloud recording function will be automatically enabled.

You can click the “Cloud Recording” button corresponding to the device list to enter the cloud recording interface. Click the cloud storage service icon to enter the “Cloud Storage Service” – disable the cloud recording function.

Tips: After the cloud recording function is turned off, the validity period of the cloud storage will not be extended;

Cloud retention period

1.Cloud deposit validity period
Cloud deposits take effect from the date of purchase, that is, the validity period of cloud deposits is: “at the time of purchase” to “the same time point after one month / one year later”. For example, the cloud deposit package of 7 days/month was purchased at 0:00 on April 1, 2019, and the validity period of the cloud deposit is a natural month. It is: 0:00 on April 1, 2019, and O:00 on May 1, 2019.

Tips: The validity period of the channel cloud is the sum of the time of all the cloud storage packages in the channel. For example, channel 1 purchased two 7-day/ month cloud storage packages at 0:00 on April 1, 2019, then the cloud storage validity period is: 0:00 on April 1, 2019, and June 1, 2019. 0:00 on the day.

2. Can the cloud validity period be suspended?
Cloud storage is timed from the date of purchase, and will not stop during the time. after the user purchases the cloud storage, the action of deleting or stopping the uploading of the video can not affect the cloud expiration time

Cloud storage renewal

1. How to renew the cloud deposit package?
(1) Conditions for cloud surviving fee: The current device has purchased the cloud storage channel to purchase or renew the cloud storage package;
(2) Process of cloud surviving fee: Click the device “Cloud Recording” to enter the cloud recording interface click the “Cloud Storage Service” icon to enter the cloud storage service – select the channel to renew the fee – click the “Renew Now” button below to enter the cloud mall interface – Select the channel and package for renewal of the device – click on the renewal fee immediately to complete the renewal.

Tips: When you are renewing, if the renewal plan are using the package and the other channels of the package meet the renewal conditions, it will default to select previous package and channel.

Cloud storage migration

1. Unbound cloud service migration

(1) Conditions for migrating cloud services: The current account has a cloud storage service of unbound devices;

(2) Migration cloud service process:
After the device is added successfully, if the device meets the service migration conditions, the migration prompt box is displayed. After confirming, select the service that needs to be migrated to the newly added device, and click “Migration”.

If the device is a single-channel device, the device migrates directly to the device list interface. If the device is a multi-channel device, you need to select the number of channels equal to the number of services to migrate.

2. Offline device cloud service migration
(1) Offline device cloud service migration conditions: the current account has offline devices that have been bound to the cloud service;
(2) Migration process:
After the device is successfully added, if the device meets the service migration criteria, the migration prompt box is displayed. After the determination, the device iumps to the miaration interface.

b. Select an offline device to migrate. If the offline device is multi channel, you need to select the migrated device channel.

If the device is a single-channel device, the device migrates directly to the device list interface. If the device is a multi-channel device, you need to select an equal number of channels to migrate.
Tips: Do not migrate all day recording cloud services to NVR devices

Log in

This APP support “account log-in”, third-party log-in” and local experience”.
Account log-in: At log-in interface, input user name/cellphone number/email address and password, click ‘0K” and log in.

Third-party log-in: Click the icon of third-party network social software, authorize the APP to log in.Local experience: Users can use the APP without log-in.
Remember the password: Supportremem-berring the account and password that have been logged in, which is convenient for switching account login.
Note: Please pay attention thatLocal experience” mode will be stored at local.Once data is lost, it can’t be restored.

Basic Settings

Split screen number：The selected split screen number is displayed after the re-login, and the CMS provides split screen 1/4/6/8/9/16/25/36/49 nine forms of choice.

Display language：CMS currently defaults to 9 display languages, such as Simplified Chinese and English. When you choose to log in again, you will switch to the corresponding language.

Login Method：The cloud login mode is online. You need to connect to the external network when you log in. The local login does not have this hard requirement.

List style：The list style includes tree shape and graphics. The replacement is only the real-time preview interface and the display of the device list under the playback interface. The device list under other interfaces is unified into the tree list style.

Path modification：

①Screenshot path: The screenshot file is saved in the snapshot folder by default, and can be saved in other paths according to its own needs.

②Local recording path: The local recording file is saved in the record folder by default, and can be saved in other paths according to its own needs.

③Video download path: The files downloaded by the playback video are saved in the video_download folder by default, and can be saved in other paths according to their needs.

Preview sync time：Check the time when the device is previewed and the computer will be automatically synchronized (only ipc is supported)

note：After modifying the settings, click “Finish” and you will need to log in again. (It is best not to modify it to a directory containing Chinese)

Time zone setting：The local time zone can be selected according to the actual situation.

Automatic lock：Check the auto lock and enter the integer in minutes in the time frame. If no operation is performed on the CMS within the time of the input, the CMS will automatically lock.

Automatically connect video：After logging in to the auto-connect video, log in to the CMS and automatically connect to the device added to the device list. The number of connected channels is the number of split screens in the basic settings.

Introduction to EseeCloud CMS

Function introduction

CMS is called Camera Monitor System. It is a camera monitoring client for online preview image, video storage, remote playback, device management, video/screen download and other functions. 

It is suitable for DVR, NVR, IPC, VR CAM, Wifi IPC and other devices.

Camera suitable for IP PRO, VR CAM, EseeCloud app.

CMS has the following characteristics

 Interface containerization processing mode: In the interface design of the client component, the containerized processing is carefully adopted, which simplifies the processing mode of multi-screen and single-screen switching, greatly improves the multi-screen operation feeling, and adapts to the development trend of a multi-screen PC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question one：After installation, open the CMS and display “Cannot load plugin”?

Answer one：

1.Please confirm whether the installation path uses Chinese when installing, and the plugin is temporarily not compatible with Chinese path.

2.After confirming the non-Chinese path, if the problem persists, you can contact technical support for assistance.

Question two：After connecting multiple channels of video (more than 30 channels), videos stop for a few seconds , all channels are automatically disconnected into the black screen. The device connected again has no response. Do we need to restart the CMS?

Answer two：The new version of CMS3.0.1 runs with higher memory. If you connect many channels by the lower configuration computer, the computer system will run out of memory, causing the CMS to run abnormally. If the computer configuration is slightly lower, it is recommended not to connect too many channels. The optimization work has been planned for this situation.

Question three：When CMS is installed on the OSX system, it displays “File is corrupted” or “Unable to open” when it is opened?

Answer three：

1.Open “System Settings” → “Security and Privacy” → “Allow applications to be downloaded in the following location”, check “any source” (applies to versions prior to OSX10.12.X);

2.Open “Terminal”, enter the string “sudo spctl –master-disable”, press the “Enter” key, enter the sudo password (applicable to versions after OSX10.12.X). If the above method still does not work, please contact us to help you solve it.

Question four：After starting a window and flashing, it will not start or XP will appear. Open the software to indicate 0a00000000 memory referenced by 0x00000000 instruction. The memory cannot be ‘written’.

Add a LAN device：①Enter the device management interface ②Refresh LAN device ③Check the device and click Add (LAN device can be filtered by entering IP/ID in the filter box)

Add cloud ID device：Manually enter the device ‘cloud ID number + channel number’, select ‘type’ according to the actual situation of the device, and the rest can click to confirm (the password can be selected according to the actual settings of the device)

Add an IP/DDNS device：Manually enter the device ‘IP/DDNS+port+channel number’, select ‘type’ according to the actual situation of the device, and the rest can click OK.

Description

This article will show the steps on how to add an Access Controller to SMARTPSS-AC and change the Door Names easily identify the doors as we go through the configurations.

Important

Pre-requisites

Having an initialized Access Controller on the local network ready to go. Please Follow these instructions if not already done so:

Step by Step Instructions

1. Open SmartPSS-AC and go to Device Manager

2. Click on Add

3. Enter the appropriate information of the access controller then click on add to finish adding the device.

4. You know it was successfull once you see the green status with Online.

5. At this point we recommend you go into the configuration of each door to rename them for an easier experience going forward.

Go back home and go to Access Configuration

6. On the left tabs click on Access Config -> then click on the door you want to rename -> then under the Door entry type the new name
Then click on Save

7. You should now see the Doors renamed

Access Control/How to Create Time Templates Holidays on SmartPSSAC

Description

This article will show how to setup and create Time templates and Holiday schedules.

Time Templates are your normal everyday time schedules. These can be linked to your Permission Groups or Door Configuration Timezones.
Holiday Plans with override regular Time Templates on specific dates. These need to be linked with the Time Template creation.

Prerequisites

This article is a part of series of instructions. Please follow the Previous article before continuing with the configuration.

Step by Step Instructions

Time Template

1. Go to Access Configuration

2. For these instructions we will create a 9am to 5pm Shift. Anything filled in with green is considered the Granted Access time. Greyed-out areas mean No Access

–Click on Add
–Give the Schedule a name and enter a description
–Click on the gear icon to edit the schedule

3. Now enter the time frame you want the doors to be active. You can also add multiple periods by clicking on +. You can also select the days you want the periods to take affect. For these instructions we will have a single period from 9am – 5pm ever single day of the week.

Holiday Plan

This section of the instructions will go over the Holiday Plan creation. Holidays will override the Week Plan we just created on specific days. In this example we will show a New Years Holiday plan with No Access during that date.

4. Go to Holiday Plan

5. Select the gear icon to modify the schedule

6. Edit the schedule you would like the Holiday plan to take. Then click on OK

7. You can now see the schedule take affect on the timeline. Now go to Add under “Holiday List“

8. Here you will create the Holiday plan details

–Give the Holiday Plan a name
-Set the date you would like the Holiday Plan to take
-Set the amount of days the Holiday will take affect

Then click on OK to continue

9. Make sure you check the Holiday we just created to link it to the Holiday Schedule. Then click on Save

10. The Holiday is now in effect

Description

This article will go over adding users with all three methods of authentication for doors on SmartPSS-AC.

Prerequisites

This article follows a series of instructions. If you have not followed our previous instruction please do so before continuing.

Step by Step Instructions

How to add a User

1. Go to Personnel Manager

2. Click on Add

3. Assign the user a User ID and a Name. Click on the dropdown arrow to reveal more details.

4. You can now further customize the user’s entry. Click Finish to complete adding the user.

How to assign PINs to Users

5. Go to Certification on the user.

6. Click on Add to create a PIN

7. Enter at least a 6-digit password and confirm it. Then click on OK to save the entry. Then click on Finish to finalize the new PIN.

Note: to enter the PIN you will need to enter the UserID#6-digit# (i.e. 1#123456#)

How to assign Cards to Users

8. To add a card you first need to select the method. Click on the Gear Icon to select the method of adding the card.

9. If you purchased the ASM100 then select Card Issuer

10. Then click on Add

11. Scan the card on the ASM100 and the number will populate on the box entry. Click on OK to confirm.

12. If you are using an existing Card Reader on the Access Controller then select the Door the reader is on. In this example I have the Card Reader on Door 1 which I renamed to Front Door.

13. Scan the card and the number should populate on the box entry. Click on OK to confirm.

14. You will now see the Card entry if done correctly. Click on Finish to save any changes.

How to assign Fingerprints to Users

15. To add a Finger print you first need to select the method. Go to the gear Icon to select how you will be registering the fingerprint.

16. If you purchased our ASM202 select Fingerprint Scanner

17. Then click on Add

18. Select Add Fingerprint, then place your finger on the scanner. It will need to scan your finger a total of three times. Please wait for the beep after each scan.

19. In this article we will be using a Fingerprint reader on door 2 named Side Door.

20. Select Add Fingerprint, then place your finger on the scanner. It will need to scan your finger a total of three times. Please wait for the beep after each scan.

21. You will see the fingerprint entry if done successfully.
